      Hey Matt 👋,
      Can you tell me which laptop is really good for students.
      I'm confused between "The M1s" or the Surface Laptops or Asus R.O.G. ZEPHYRUS G14 , etc.
      Thanking you in anticipation.

    I’ve been a Mac laptop user for 15 years. I bought one of these on sale and was ready to skip the M1 train because of how nice this whole package seemed, and a super lightweight Windows laptop would be a nice change of pace. Boy was I wrong. The first unit I received had a pretty sizable chip in the paint, but otherwise worked fine. The replacement unit I got (which took FOREVER by the way, I’d ended up speaking to 10+ Lenovo employees over the course of a couple days, receiving the laptop a week later even though I supposedly had “next business day” Premier Support) had bugs with Lenovo Vantage where it wouldn’t find driver and BIOS updates. This is important because early version of this laptop’s BIOS had some sleep issues if left for longer than few hours, where they simply wouldn’t wake back up. After manually installing the BIOS update and necessary drivers, the camera driver simply refused to update. even manually. After trying to uninstall and reinstall Vantage, forgetting and relearning devices in device manager, and a whole host of other troubleshooting efforts, I figured I got a bad install of Windows itself and wanted to start with a clean slate.
    So I created a USB Recovery drive using Lenovo’s website/app and did a complete clean install of Windows 10 on the replacement machine. After the 4+ hours that took, I went to update the drivers and... still had camera issues. So this was probably something hardware related. Not to mention the replacement unit ALSO had a smaller nick/chip in the finish, to add insult to injury
    I really wish Lenovo had better build quality/QC. The differences between my 2 machines was staggering; Noticeably different color temperature on the displays, paint finish imperfections as previously mentioned, and even different hinge tuning, with one of them not being one-finger openable. Maybe ThinkPad people will think I’m expecting too much, but with the money I put down, this is simply inexcusable. I realize now why Dave2D said he doesn’t review ThinkPads because of their inconsistencies, and he’s totally right. I’ll be returning both and picking up a 14 inch Macbook Pro when it’s released. I think I’ll stick to my gaming desktop for my dose of Windows. I wanted to love this laptop, but it just didn’t wanna work with me.

    I don't know why you don't think people watching these videos are business users. Many of us are. Thunderbolt 4 hubs give you all the ports you want in a laptop. I don't understand complaints when a laptop has only 2 thunderbolt ports. This computer is even lighter than you mention. You called out the weight for the touchscreen version. Business users don't tend to use touchscreens. The non-touch laptop is < 2 lbs. The only thing really lacking I find is the keys seem a bit crammed and it only has 16 GB of Ram (I'd prefer an option for 32 GB to run VMWare clients more easily). This is also a very quiet laptop. The CPUs are fast enough and the memory is fast. Also so far as size goes, most people working from their homes don't even use a laptop's built in monitor, keyboard or mouse. We go external and so the need is for a laptop that supports that functionally "well enough" or well, but not necessarily super well.

    @milosvukovic5720 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    I totally agree. For this money you can buy a great Desktop + Laptop. 3,000 is a lot of money, for 2,000 a great PC and for 1,000 a Mac Book Air. It's not worth buying this. I never thought I'd say this, I've never had Apple products, but at the moment, in my opinion, Air and Pro are unbeatable (price-quality ratio) - seen as a whole package - Mac is currently the king. For $ 1,000, there is no Windows Laptop that can be measured in quality with a Mac.
    I personally have a beast from a computer and a ThinkPad T470 from a company. I love it ! In 2 years he has never caused me a problem. I replaced the battery and that's it. This Nano is not worth it.

    Yeah... I don't buy all that BS claim about "durability" and "resistance". At least not until an objective 3rd party thoroughly tests it out.
    Seems like any other Premium laptops are equally durable and and resistant to me, some of them even more so than Thinkpads.
    In terms of Compactness and Lightness, I don't see how the X1 Nano is better than the 13" LG Gram, which has MORE ports, BETTER keyboard, and BIGGER battery, for HALF the money.
    Only benefit is that the X1 Nano gets a 1440p option, which is still not a huge advantage. Personally I'd choose the MacBook Air over either, despite being a little heavier.

    $800 on ebay in 7-2023 and dropping.
    Poor QC is probably why. If you buy one get a long Squaretrade warranty.

    It's not quite a pound and a half lighter than the MacBooks...more like .6 and .8 pounds lighter than the air and the pro; but I do get the point. Two pounds feels a hell of a lot lighter than three pounds in practice. I wish Apple would stick the M1 in a chassis of the old 12" MacBook, toss in the new magic keyboard (I forget what it's called if not that) and call it a day. That would be amazing.

    "Only 11 hours use?" You GOTTA stop moving the goalpost. Now 11 hours of use is considered bad usage!? It used to be 6 hours
