A song written by Rick Wright looong before the name Pink Floyd had even came into existence. Although the credit was given to Syd upon release. Nevertheless quite a beautiful song. All the members of Floyd were equally talented for what they'd brought to the table. ~RIP~ Syd Barrett and Richard Wright.
Do you have a source on Rick wrighting it? (heh) just curious, I hadn't heard of this before and couldn't find anything that credited Wright. I do recall reading it was intended either as Syd or Rick's tribute to each other somewhere, but I don't know about that. The only full fledged "love" song to Syd was Oh! Wot a Dream which is such a great tribute. I always thought Kevin Ayers sounded like Syd in quite a few songs and wondered how much Syd influenced him, and then to come across that, it all made sense.
all of Rick's songs for Pink Floyd are beautiful and his first solo album Wet Dream shows his talent away from the restrictions of the Roger Waters machine. us and them us and them. Pink Floyd were us now Pink Floyd are them

There's a bit of debate on who actually wrote this song: Syd or Rick Wright. Judging by the lyrics--specifically the lack of surrealism and psychedelia--it sounds like a Rick song. Either way, it's still a great song.
I remember buying this when it came out. Bob Dylans Blues is great too. I wonder if there other songs like this that are unreleased that David Gilmour has in the vault
She Was a Millionaire (not one in a million, which exists as a live song, but is unrelated) was supposed to be the follow up single to See Emily Play. It was mostly finished and was generally felt that it was some of Syd’s best work. Unfortunately, before it could be fully completed Syd started getting unwell and the band had decided to take their music in other directions and it was never finished. The tapes are believed to have been destroyed. But, who knows.
@@jamesmckean3221 yes I quite like birdie hop, one of his more bizarre songs but it has a happy and cheerful feel with eerie undertones, something he was very good at doing with other songs such as Flaming and Effervescing elephant. I don't often listen to Birdie Hop and will admit it's my least favourite, but I don't dislike it, rather there's a time and a place for it, whereas most of the others I can listen to anytime.

Syd Barett and Pink Floyd were a good match!!! The healthy Syd was very creative. Unfortunately he had the wrong friends. His sister Rosmarie once said: His bad times started with Pink Floyd. I would say: His bad times started in the shared flat where Syd lived. He hung out too much with junkies. His two solo albums should have been recorded with Pink Floyd, they would have been better musically. Syd Barett could have become something real. Drugs ruin your life. He failed as a painter and musician. I am interested in how Syd lived with his illness?? Did he ever have therapy???

I can really hear the influence Syd had on Bowie with this song.
@@anthonytownsend9717 I know he did (apparently, Syd took credit for it for some reason), but it's Syd bringing it to life and making it his own.
He could create amazing melodic stuff and it's poetry

Got the Syd Barrett blues, and the Syd Barrett shoes, and my clothes and my hair's in a mess....

Probably the lyrics are Rick's and the music is Syd's
This song sounds a lot like Dominoes to me. Actually this was written by Richard Wright according to him from an interview he did with John Edgington.

Apparently written by Rick Wright.
I believe Rick Wright and Syd Barrett collaborated on this song.
Wann ist der Song den auf den Markt gekommen??
eternal mystery...who wrote that song - Rick or Syd????? in my opinion it is Barrett's song but....who can really tell?
Wright.
Wright lo contó en una entrevista, que él la compuso no recuerdo cual de los documentales lo dijó.
Syd must have wrote the music. The lyrics have an unsophosticated quality, a bit unlike Syd.
Lyrics and music by Wright.Wright said only "Two of Kind".But Barrett was sick.,very bad.
Syd of course

not bad.
Rick Wright's song. Syd was so out of it he actually thought he had written it himself.
I also believe I had heard somewhere that Rick Wright had given it to him intentionally out of kindness.
