I found the end of this video hilarious. Thankfully my boyfriend is happy about me becoming passionate over fish. I suffered severe depression and anxiety for years, losing my passion for just about every hobby I used to do. (The biggest was drawing.) Recently I got a 10gal tank and after almost 6 weeks I finally got fish into it. I've been doing tons of research about different fish, how to keep a healthy tank and so on. My boyfriend says I just light up when I talk about it and he often catches me just watching my fish swim around. Although he has made the funny comment of "Of all the things you could become passionate about, you become passionate over fish" lmao!!
Me too 😍 I used to breed rabbits (19years) gave it up and lost interest in everything. Now I have 5 tanks set up. 2 more waiting for more room. He used to breed fish year's ago. He's loving it
I struggle with mental health issues too and I recently got a 10-gallon with some African dwarf frogs and some corydoras and they bring me so much happiness ♥️♥️♥️ I probably just sit there and watch them for at least 2 hours every day lol
I really struggled at the start of lock down, full time job gone, can't see family or friends.. went in to a massive depression spiral and my anxiety went tho the roof.. brought my fist 30g aquarium and now I have 7 tanks ranging from plecos breeding to fancy guppie breeding 😬🤙
I’m very lucky, my boyfriend is into fish keeping too. Both newbies to the hobby and your videos are a big help. It also helps that We are both biologist. I’m a botanist and he has a degree in zoology. I have over 300 betta fry. Thanks a lot!!! I buy from you as much as I can and send people your way all the time.
Recently came into the hobby this year. Your videos are fantastic and you're a natural teacher. I know watching videos alone won't make me a competent hobbyist, but your videos are a brilliant supplement to all of the reading and trial and error experience with fish keeping so far. Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge with the world! Also, the more I learn about Corydoras, the more they're becoming a favourite to me! Such cool little fish
Thank you from single senior. Recently invested in 7 wild caught L340's and now in 6 yellow layers. Your video has provided me with great confidence to continue. Your the very best. Please keep buying your beautiful wife Girl Scout Cookies xoxo
This is amazing, the days were simple and videos were full of Cory content (pun intended). How I miss you Cory and your great simple videos showing your few free minutes doing fish related stuff in the garage
Nice video! My Orange Laser Corys do that all the time. Cool to see someone actually capture that on video. Looking forward to a follow-up video on them.
I swear to god every fish tutorial or informational video I’ve looked up your channel comes up and it answers exactly what I’m looking for so thank you for that and I’m sure that’s why your channel is so successful so good work being you !!!
8:14 Cory talks about Cory's mating. One of the best channels hands down. great content and no disrespect. best wishes to u and your team and thanks for all the lessons that helped me start the hobby enjoyably.
I love your videos, thanks for educating me. I've been an aquarist for 18 years but have learned so more from you in two days and from Jenny on Solid Gold than I have in a year of resarch on online websites. My favourite fish are Fantail and Red Cap Oranda Goldfish and Betta Splendins. I got a 23 gallon Fluval Vista two days ago and will be moving my two baby fancy goldfish to it when it's cycled, there will be an empty 8.5 gallon tank I could it decide what to keep in it. I decided to keep guppies from your videos on them they are so beautiful, I have never kept them before, nope I'm not keeping any of the fry but they will make great live food for the adult guppies, my goldfish and Bettas. I hope to hatch my own brine shrimp too. I forgot my two kids have 3 gallon tank kits with three white clouds in each in their rooms, they help look after. :D
I do wake up in the morning and say, ”I love hatching baby brine, because they are the best food!" My wife thinks I'm insane, but my fish are awesome and HUGE!
Watching this AGAIN- after my first official peppered Cory spawn- I have habrosus that I’m growing out to breed too. Can’t wait to get more species going 😁
I have a mix of 6 cories that I got before I learned it's better to keep species together, and I caught them spawning today! Immediately started researching and found this awesome video. So glad you were in the fish room that day! 6 years ago! Wow!
And to be fair, the ones spawning were 2 Venezuelans and 1 albino (Venezuelan?) so it wasn't cross-breeding or I'd have been super stoked. I'm only like a year in and this is my first tank so I'm still a newb
I really appreciate the time you put into these videos and the information you provide. I would suggest taking one of those days off and enjoying a day with your wife on your loyal youtubers I think you have earned it. :)
Thanks, I've bred pandas but just got a bunch (15) midnight corys. Everyone has breeding trigger tricks. The one that finally kicked off my pandas was a 25% water change with RODI water about 3c cooler than the tank.
This channel I have at this point watched hours and hours of the content you make Cory awesome content learned so much and put it all into practice now
I've got cory pandas colony spawning in a 125l community tank with tetras and livebearers. A helpful trick I copied off someone on planetcatfish is to use filter media ceramic ring (like eheim ehfimech) in the tank to provide refuge for the fry. I have two small piles hidden under a mass of java moss and behind plants/wood. You won't raise loads of fry, but more will survive predation than without the rings. I also switch filters off for 5 mins and feed microworms into the spawning areas, and to the other fish. I don't gravel clean over the rings, but there are loads of cherry shrimp poking around keeping it clean. More baby cherries seem to survive too. Works for me.
Dude... Just because your comment of yeah well I'm doing it my way and... It worked! Lol kills me. Thank you for spending your time making videos and helping the community learn.
My Cory’s are spawning. I’ve got the spotted ones. On air pumps, honest comparison are ones that are a few years old. All new air pumps do their best to be quiet.
Listening through old videos while working in the fishroom. Someone could make an incredible “out of context” Cory Soundboard from this video. “That’s the way I like to breed”!!!
Very nice corydoras also another beautiful fish that I would consider one of my top favorites is the green lasers looking forward to seeing future footage of these fish an their fry best of luck to your and your breeding program
+Guppy Breeders I'm not sure how well it's going. with the brand new tank, it would seem eggs hatched but I haven't seen fry yet, but I haven't disturbed the moss either. Once I get the tank setup a bit more, I expect to see more fry :)
Thin mints are a god sent when my girlfriend and I moved apartments. Guess who got to move the shrimp tank into the living room.. This guy! She even likes it there. No joke GSC have magical powers lol. Awesome video Cory , loving those orange lasers!
Help needed, and thanks in advance. Orange laser CW010 are Gold Lasers right, no difference in locality, color, or so on? Then you have Green Laser CW009? Next are they a real Red Laser CW014 and or, Red Neon CW023? I read something about people dying the Red Corydoras. Also is the stripe and laser naming the same identification, or is it two different meanings?
You look tired, take a nap fella. We'll be around when you make the next video! :D Edit: I have Juli Cories, and I've seen those eggs on the glass before! Nice!!!
Any pointers on keeping eggs from getting fungus with chemicals? My Cory’s spawned and despite removing eggs and putting in a breeder box with water movement and separating them about 20hr in they poof fungused
I do it but can't grow them to decent size for my pea puffers. Suggestions, advice? Also, is there a problem with inbreeding? I have babies from one parents in the same tank; don't know if they will breed with their off-springs. Thank you. Glad you made a success from start to finish, been watching you from the start.
I just ordered 4 gold lasers for my 55g denison barb and praecox rainbows tank. I already have 2 fairy, 2 sterbai and 2 paleatus corys in there and I love them so much I'm getting more. There seems to be a big variation in color, from the videos I've seen. Some just have a faint gold stripe and others look completely gold. Any reason/s for this other than the location they're from?
With any of the the Cory's I've ever bred, I always start with 20+, because in my own experience, I have MUCH better success in bigger groups...I have had some never breed for me until I had a group of 20+... I'm loving your informative content a bunch...! Keep up your awesomeness...!
Hi from Paris, can you tell me what is the difference between « orange laser Cory, and melanotaenia Cory, and rabautia cory » ? Your orange laser Cory looks like melanotaenia ? For me. Do you have video of the fry results ?
I've been feeding my Cory API sinking bottom Feeder Pellets. It breaks up when eaten into fine particulates that just floats around ruining the clarity of my water. For my 30 gal tank, I have a fluval aquaclear 50 (two layers of mechanical, charcoal, bio media, and topped off with polyfil) and a 130 gph powerhead attached to a sponge filter. The water just doesn't seem to clear up. I feel like the fine particles are just too small to get caught. Should I start feeding then something else?
Cory , can brine srimp give swim bladder disease to fishes if you feed them many times per week. im just curious about that because im trying to purchase some to feed my fish
Yesterday I added 2 smaller Pepper Corydoras to the tank with 2 older (obviously larger) ones because I saw that they should be in larger schools. Today I saw one of the larger ones nuzzling the belly of one of the smaller ones and then they swim off together and 5 minutes later do it all again. Like at the 8:07 mark. Thanks in advance. Edit: Found my answer in this video - th-cam.com/video/CI5nC-rpNZg/w-d-xo.html - at the 50:40 mark. The females drives herself into the male. I left my question and answer here rather than delete it so others might learn
I had a question about the gravel on the bottom of the tank, why do you not have it all the way over the bottom ? I am toying with the idea of breeding and dont know if i should use gravel or not. Thanks !
Djc20 He just has a thin layer of gravel so it doesn't require any maintenance (nothing gets trapped under it, the cories can easily keep it clean etc.)
Also I've never seen corydiras breed, I've just woke up to a rank full of eggs. They are epicly cute as fry. Sadly mine had some strange die off a few weeks later. This was about 25 years ago. ☹
Hey Fish Folks! Other than the Pygmy, habrous, hastatus. What Corydoras species stay relatively smaller? I’ve heard pandas and Julii stay smaller. Any suggestions would be great!
*Check out the next episode:* th-cam.com/video/Z7yawOpTj0w/w-d-xo.html
Hey Corey I’m going to green Aqua any advise
Can you add these with bettas
Totally
Got to love the Stray neocaridina shrimp in the Java moss at 14 minutes 14 seconds
do you still have these around the store?

@@mikuenjoyerXD Sooo much fun watching dwarf Clawed frogs! Add in the Cory's and you have a water circus!

Love this.
Some of these 'older" AC videos are great, surprised there are not more views. Great video!
4 years later have to agree
These old videos were the best. You just talk to the camera and i learned so much. Thank you.
I’m very lucky, my boyfriend is into fish keeping too.
Both newbies to the hobby and your videos are a big help.
It also helps that We are both biologist. I’m a botanist and he has a degree in zoology.

between 13:15 and 13:22 as she wriggles through the java you can see her leave a egg behind.
Amazing!
Yep, I saw that one too! But 3 years later! ;)
rip
That wasn't on purpose it doesn't look like
Your attitude in this video about everything especially how you explain getting away with buying the air pump is amazing
This is amazing, the days were simple and videos were full of Cory content (pun intended). How I miss you Cory and your great simple videos showing your few free minutes doing fish related stuff in the garage
There isn't free time anymore unfortunately.
Nice video! My Orange Laser Corys do that all the time. Cool to see someone actually capture that on video. Looking forward to a follow-up video on them.

Love going back and watching your old videos especially if I have a problem with my fish. You're my go to channel. Thanks Cory.
when I was getting ready to set up my first tank I watched your vids. now my corys are laying eggs and here I am again lol
This is awesome Cory! The natural approach is the way I want to go when I start breeding! ❤️
8:14 Cory talks about Cory's mating. One of the best channels hands down. great content and no disrespect. best wishes to u and your team and thanks for all the lessons that helped me start the hobby enjoyably.
I like that give back philosophy! Gives me an excuse to come buy some stuff too, not that I need one...

Your relationship advice is just as good as your fish breeding advice.
From Teignmouth Devon UK , I love your videos ....I've learn't so much . Keep on educating us Cory 😁
At 1954 she deposited her egg on the moss, so cool, great video.

Not only are your videos full of information for a newby like me, but you also make me laugh 😎
Does your shop sell stuff to ship overseas? Obviously not fish, but maybe a shirt or something? I'm in Australia and love your videos ❤️
Love what your doing with the Cory’s. I hope you will do a video about hatching and raising the orange razor back Cory’s. They are so beautiful.
Dude... Just because your comment of yeah well I'm doing it my way and... It worked! Lol kills me. Thank you for spending your time making videos and helping the community learn.
Loved seeing them spawning on video.
+ShelbyRae Lane Me too, was lucky to catch it.
I miss these old videos
Me too!!! More raw simple.
This was fascinating. I am currently binge watching your older vids
Wow! Awesome video Cory, thanks.
Thanks man 👍 as always very informative 😎, especially the domestic tip. You're a genius 😂
Great information. Recently returned to keeping various Corys. Amazing little fish.
Love this video. I'm currently breeding pandas and orange Venezuelan corys and it's a lot of fun.
Great idea and creative way to fund more videos. Thanks.
Love CoryAdoras, my first fish I kept.
I got my wife it to the hobby and she loves it , We have been together going on 21 years
+Dakota Aquatics You're lucky!
I finally got a group of lasers. This has been helpful thank you. Gonna pack in the moss
My Cory’s are spawning. I’ve got the spotted ones. On air pumps, honest comparison are ones that are a few years old. All new air pumps do their best to be quiet.
Thank you for this video and defying the odds!
i recently purchased Gold laser cory catfish. They are awesome and easily my fav fish.

I love corycats it’s so cute she holding on to her egg,
I love the relationship advice ❤ perfect. Yup for me more tanks, means I have to buy my husband the kilt he wants 😉
Man I love Cory cats, wish I had more variety in my location

Maybe u can make the Cory breeding breeding vid now since you've got Jimmy
Hey Boss, I just gotten one from my LFS, at a very extremely great price 👍😎, they're so cool in my 65gal😎😎
I've been looking for Corydora CW010 and I have not got it. Where I can buy. Thanks for your help.

Regular 25% water change and a spray bar to imitate rainfall after a couple of weeks of cucumber and bloodworm worked for me
I have got a bronse corydora who seems to resemble this cory more... I am conflicted... could he of been labeled wrong at the store?
Hey Cory, just made my first purchase from you. Then this video came up!
With any of the the Cory's I've ever bred, I always start with 20+, because in my own experience, I have MUCH better success in bigger groups...I have had some never breed for me until I had a group of 20+... I'm loving your informative content a bunch...! Keep up your awesomeness...!

Unlikely as brine shrimp tends to be a laxative.
Girl Scout cookies, lol, you are the man! Keep it up, love the videos!
What is the size of the parent fish? And how long does it take for the fry to mature?
Love your videos those Cory are beautiful.i want a pair
Thin mints and tagalongs are my shiz 🙏🏻🤤🙌🏻🙌🏻
Can you show us how to spawn mbu puffers ? Not a lot of info on it...
What temp do you keep the orange lasers at?
that was super awesome watching them
i love the OG videos 😂
Why are kribensis not good picks for breeding for profit?
Yesterday I added 2 smaller Pepper Corydoras to the tank with 2 older (obviously larger) ones because I saw that they should be in larger schools.
Today I saw one of the larger ones nuzzling the belly of one of the smaller ones and then they swim off together and 5 minutes later do it all again.
Suspected it was mating behaviour which is how I came to your video.
My question is: which is the male in this situation? The one getting it's belly nuzzled or the one doing the nuzzling? Like at the 8:07 mark.
Thanks in advance.
Edit: Found my answer in this video - th-cam.com/video/CI5nC-rpNZg/w-d-xo.html - at the 50:40 mark. The females drives herself into the male.
I left my question and answer here rather than delete it so others might learn
I know this is a super old video but why not breed kribs for profit?
Hi - is there a difference between green and gold laser corydoras? Someone sold me 10 and calling it gold green lasers. Please help.
13:22 what we all were waiting for!(cory lay a egg)
Orange laser sounds like a coral name
Hey cory, can you show me how to breed threadfin rainbow fish? Thanks!!!
I put algae wafers and dry fish food, so pretty cool thing
Also I've never seen corydiras breed, I've just woke up to a rank full of eggs. They are epicly cute as fry.
Sadly mine had some strange die off a few weeks later. This was about 25 years ago. ☹
Awesome!
What triggered the spawn??? Help pls mine have only spawned once 3 weeks ago and dont know what triggered it
Hey Fish Folks! Other than the Pygmy, habrous, hastatus. What Corydoras species stay relatively smaller? I’ve heard pandas and Julii stay smaller. Any suggestions would be great!
Hahahaha girl scout cookies! I wish that worked on my dude >,< Awesome video!!!
Fantastic video.
