Be careful not to stress yourself too much about the wedding dress too close to the wedding. You want to enjoy the time leading up to the wedding not be extremely stressed! The good thing is that your dress and sleeves already look perfect. iI you did no more embellishing than just the belt you would still look stunning. Winter princess! I am sure some nicely placed pearls of beads will look beautiful but I truly don't think the dress needs it. It is the opposite of boring the way it is now (the length needs to be finished obviously). And your Dagmar looks amazing!

      Thank you so much❤️❤️
Yes!! I definitely don't want to end up super stressed out😬 But I also want to work on the wedding dress the whole time leading up to the wedding, both so it can be part of the whole journey and to give myself time to figure out exactly how I want it😅🥰
The belt did A LOT for the whole look, and getting the sleeves done helped too! I don't want to do too many embellishments, but I don't feel like the main wedding dress is very bare. When paired with the mohair, it's fine because there is so much going on with the different fabrics, but on its own, it's very plain/too plain? And I think it's very likely the mohair will have to go at some point throughout the day😅 But as I said, I can't really make my mind up😅😂
The length might be a good place to focus first!

@@norwegianknitter In the end all that matters is that you are happy with it! My style is very simple so I don't think the dress will be plain without the sleeves. The mohair skirt adds a lot of interest. But if you want some more - go for it! I would probably try to make a drawing of the bead placements. Or copy the placement from a picture of a wedding dress. Coming up with a design completely on your own isn't easy. It will be gorgeous in the end whatever you do.

Knitting burn out gets me so so bad around the holidays, i’d worry less about the deadline and more about the finished work like
you said! you’ll like what you gift to them way more if you take your time!! also maybe have a goal for each project and inbetween each goal weave in 2-3 ends. I do that for mine i do like 10 rounds on my hat and then move to my sweater to do something i don’t like, for example i added my zipper! everything is so so so pretty!

Loving all your structured knits and your sunday socks are great, I might need to make a pair for myself. My structured knit of the moment is the Storm Slipover junior by petiteknit, I'm making the smallest size for my granddaughter, also as a trial run at textured patterns as I've not really worked from charts before and i want to make the sweater version for myself. I hope you get plenty of knitting time to finish all your lovely projects.

I can never believe just how much you put on your needles in a few weeks' time! I would be stressed too, though, with that many knit gift ideas. I started my gift knits in August, and while I'm sure I'll get them done, I'm struggling to prioritize. Best of luck with finishing the Basket of End Weaving before the start of the year. Hi Oline! Oh my goodness, both of your cabled sweaters are stunning! You are definitely inspiring me to cast on the cabled Lauder vest which I have the pattern for. You have a perfect reason to delay gifts until after the holidays because of your wedding dress! I think that gifts are wonderful anytime of year and so I am wondering if you might feel less stressed if you got more knitting done on the dress sooner rather than later. I think that if it were me, I would want to get all of the knitting finished on all parts of the dress and then decide where to put the beads as the finishing touches (but of course that is just me). I am almost finished with my first Emotional Support Chicken which is a great stashbusting project, and of course there are so many beautiful blanket projects out there where you can make squares and have it be like a memory blanket of your different projects!

    • @norwegianknitter

Hi! I'm really loving cables this fall! And they are so much fun to knit!! I hope you'll get to cast on your Lauder Vest soon❤️
I think some gifts will be delayed, but I have gotten a head start on Christmas gifts, so I might be able to get to all of them🤞🏻
I'm going to focus on getting as many parts of the dress finished as possible, but I want to continue working on it all the way until the wedding. I cast on for the dress 22nd of February this year, so I think it would make it extra special to do the last touch 22nd of February 2025, which is also the day of the wedding🥰
I hope I'll get time for an emotional support chicken this year!

I used drops daisy with a mohair to make my champagne cardigan and is hasn't pealed a lot at all. I think like any Marino that is not superwashed, it is soft and more delicate, but holding it with a mohair helps with less pealing. I still wash all my knits by hand. I feel it helps my knits hold their shape without the friction of a machine.

I would say - make skirt first. In the worst case scenario it is better to have longer outer skirt than dress. Maybe make it to 10 cm before the the end and outsource some lace finishing? This would solve diffrent gauges problem if your grandma would be interested to help you (I think she'll be honoured if you ask her). I had a shawl made by my aunt at my wedding and she's forever a part of this day for me even though we weren't that close. Just imagining your grandma helping you puts tears in my eyes- I am way too invested in your dress story 😂

I'm leaning towards making the skirt first, too! Also, because that's probably the thing that'll take the least time😅 Me and my grandma and I have very different tensions, so I don't know how well it would work to let her knit on the skirt. But getting the knitters in my life to add something of their own to the day would make it so special!

    • @dorotaurbanska6654
      @dorotaurbanska6654 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

@@norwegianknitter yes, we already "talked" about it. That's why I thought something like augustins blanked border (but maybe rounder - like Rune by Naomi Parkhurst?) could be a better choice because you can block the lace more easily and the difference in tension wouldn't be visible. Also, excuse me if I'm to intense with this idea. It's just that other people could bring a lot of joy were you feel already uninspired. Have you washed Nord in the machine? I don‘t understand it being marketed as a sock yarn when it specifically says it should be hand-washed, so I‘ve been avoiding it… it looks like it would felt really easily.
I just made seat pads in Drops Snow for my daughter and family and they worked out really well 😊It was the first time I felted anything.
