How many layers could you possibly have of gold plating? And what are the advantages of let's say 10 layers? Or will it be pointless to pass let's say 3 layers?

Is it possible to gold plate a cheap modern watch? I've been looking for a nice gold watch with a specific look and the only ones I find are vintage winding ones but I also want the accuracy/reliability of a modern quartz. Is it possible to take a cheap $30-50 mass produced watch and gold plate the case/dial/hands in a rose gold? I'm not worried about the financial practicality, just need a nice looking color that only rose gold seems to satisfy. tia

Looks great just in the original brass even, but the end product looks brand new!
the main problem id that the brass shine will fade in two days if not plated
