  • This Genesis G70 with turbo engine has check engine light with p0597- heater control circuit open. In this video Im gonna show you on how to replace the thermostat assembly. The camera angle is not that great coz there's no enough room with this job. And if you plan to do this just make sure that the engine compartment is cooled down coz its gonna be hot. I hope you will enjoy this video and thanks again.

      New cars in hyundai and genesis are using pink coolant. I read one article from hyundai they are interchangeable if let say pink is not available, but would sugget if what color in the resevoir tank should be use.

    I had the P0597 on my wife's Kia stinger GT (same engine as the Genesis G70)... anyway, I replaced the thermostat (thank God I watched this video first or I would have shot the engine with a shotgun trying to take it out)... after all that, the code never went away. It's basically just stuck open all the time. No issues driving, it heats up before we reach the end of our street (long street) and keeps a normal temp. But it hacks me off, because it was a lot of work for no fix. I cleared the codes and it just comes back.

      So after the thermostat replacement you still have code for thermostat? I would suggest if you can access wiring diagram check continuity of the signal wire from the thermostat connector to pcm. For the power side the fuse for that thermostat shared power to other components so fuse should be okay. Let me know what you find.

      @@hyundaitech - I found another error code I hadn't seen before B2325 (having something to to with another open connection) - I'll have to find the wiring diagram. Oh wait, I think I see it in the side bar by you in a video Geness G80 thermostate diagnose and replacement... Will that video show the diagram?

      Is your check engine light still on or are you talking about a permanent code??

    • @blacktopmods
      @blacktopmods ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@stevew9563 - permanent code. I finally gave up and took it to Kia. They confirmed that a mouse had chewed through the wiring harness, I filed an insurance claim as it was a $2500 main harness replace.

    I'm going to troubleshoot the wiring first before i start replacing parts. Do you know what fuse number it goes to?

      I dont know on top of my mind but those wires going to the thermostat the power is shared to other sensors, and the ground is control specifically by the ecm. But what happened in this the sensor git some.corrosion inside causing open circuit. Yeah let me know what you find.

    Question. My G80 Sport (2018). My heat will be hot in the rear but the front is a lot cooler and only blows hot on full heat (30c). What could the issue be? I do have warranty

    • @hyundaitech
      @hyundaitech  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      What do you mean the front? Like the vents? And the rear vents is blowing hotter than the front? Could be temperature actuator issue, could be air pockets in the system thats not bleed properly. And yeah if still warranty the dealer should be able to fix that under warranty. Hope that helps

    I recently got a code for this on my 2019 Genesis, my warranty is void and nearest dealership is 5 hours away. I’m going with a local mechanic and would like to ask you if you could help me with an estimate on this repair so I kinda know and they don’t try to rip me off. Thank you!

      I just called a local shop and they quoted me $600 for the labor for this issue.

    • @hyundaitech
      @hyundaitech  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Depends on the labor rate, i usually qoute 3.5 hours for thermostat replacement ,so expect the labor around that.

    How common are these failures on the 3.3T?

      I order from eBay if it’s a genuine part from a trustworthy seller. Ends up being 50-100% cheaper.
