    I love how everyone is hating on this video, and this is a poor example BUT it’s true. (Lifeguard here), we are trained to search for hair color when looking underwater but if we can’t see it or they’re blonde, we fall back on bathing suits. If you want your kids to be noticed by lifeguards and overall more safe go with a brighter colored suit. There is a reason lifeguards wear red.

      A lifeguard that does agree admit though environment is not blue.. right :) but, I do agree blue in water that looks blue... is a thing and sadly.. the blue has not got any form of bright color stripes or anything at least just because it would help

    I heard orange is the most visible & safest color for swimsuits. Neon pink & yellow are good but not as good as orange.

    I see what the problem is here: Light blue swimsuits camouflage well with the blue pool water, making it difficult for the kids to be spotted in the pool for safety reasons. Unless if he/she is wearing a dark blue swimsuit, he/she will be fine because he/she can be spotted in the pool 💙💙

      I feel like it’s more so if the kid is drowning and at the bottom of the pool. The further a person goes down, the more difficult it becomes to see them from above the water. Especially since kids are smaller, it’ll be way more difficult to find them than a teenager or an adult

    It seems to me that if your child is in a pool splashing around and swimming, even if other kids are there or not there, that you would be there, watching her the entire time while she is in the water. I will even go a step further by saying a truly loving and caring parent would actually be in the water themselves, ensuring the child safety all along. Whether a bathing suit is blue, green, yellow or red does not ever negate your parental obligations and duties to begin with. The color of a child’s swimwear doesn’t determine if said child will end up in a emergency situation at all. Being a responsible and attentive parent right from the start would hinder such a event from happening in the first place. Just saying….. think about it…. It’s not the color of a child’s bathing suits responsibility to nsure a child’s safety Ma’am, that would be yours. Enough said!

    • @gabriel51366
      @gabriel51366 ปีที่แล้ว +10

      While that is very true, children often play in crowds, especially at water parks with lots of play areas. Small children should be kept in bright neon colored bathing suits so you have an easier time keeping an eye on them. You may even save someone elses child.

    • @stephenhenley7452

      This is simply about increased visibility. US NAVY Seals wear a variety of camo, but it's always designed to blend in with the surrounding because they DON'T want to be seen. This is the opposite of that, you're trying to do everything you can to stand out, not blend in...every little bit helps.
      This does not negate your responsibilities as an adult. It does not negate your responsibilities as a parent. It just helps you be safer. It's no different than having bright orange lifevests or lifeboats for rescue

      One would hope a lifeguard or parents/care givers watching over children in a pool would have eyes. That's why this message is important.

  • @lauraleehickman2331

    I mean ya it makes sense, but no parent is gonna let their kid swim without supervision. So whether they blend in or not, you know they're there. I kinda think this whole blue bathing suit thing is stupid.

    • @sarahforst8174
      @sarahforst8174 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      As a lifeguard, you'd be surprised by the horror stories I have of parents leaving kids without supervision... It happens more than once daily. And lifeguards are not supervision by my definition -- a guardian should be watching the kid and next to them in the water the whole time. Lifeguards are watching the whole pool and drowning takes 30 seconds start to finish, so that's why someone needs to be specifically watching them.

      With the amount of parents I’ve seen be on their phones in the park, at the store, at the pool while with their kids, I imagine it happens a lot more than people think. Even if the parent is watching their kid, you can never be too safe.
