    A Jakey Baby Pack!!!??? 😲This is incredible!!!!🔥🔥For those who may not know, the Magic Animate V3 is a gamechanger if you're a resolve editor. The amount of presets are staggering, I'm still finding new things in this plugin months later. Absolutely INSANE value for the money. Literally the only thing that could have made it better is a Jake Edition. Haha love this, you guys rock! ♥

      Thank you so much Justin. Couldn't agree more. It is BANANAS bang for your buck. Such a powerful tool that helps me make what I love to make so much easier. Fantastic tool for the arsenal.
      And yes, the Jakey Baby edition is solid and also new features have gotten added to the original as well. SO AWESOME!

      @@jakefelzien at least thats the command that works for me! I may have changed my key commands when I first switched, but there’s definitely a way to do it. Just grab between the clips and move it- only the layer you selected trims!

      @@jakefelzien part 3 will be Davinci LIstend!!!!!! SECONDARY PLAYHEAD!!!!!
      That is literally the reason why I cant switch over to davinci and keep using FCPX for 99 % of my projects.
      I dump footage into timeline and use that to scrub while trimming each end.
      ITS SO FAST!

  • @MINIPRO27
    @MINIPRO27 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    Instead of going back frames manually I suggest you make a keybind for playhead on previous clip. I believe this is set to up and down arrow keys by default but I made it to tab to easily put the playhead back to the first frame of a clip

    I found that opening new tabs while holding the playhead or a clip lets it follow the mouse cursor without it being on the playback line. For example windows shift s to open the screenshot tab glitches the playhead to follow your mouse cursor anywhere on the screen

    Great video. and I know it's the color page that has the multiple playheads but it's so crazy I have this false memory or I dimension hopped Mandela effect style because I remember they're being multiple play heads. I remember having three heads with key blinds. It was a long time ago... obviously I'm wrong at least in this world..... I don't know maybe I was using a different program back then but in my brain thinks it was resolved..... lol .

    • @jakefelzien
      @jakefelzien  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      The cut page kind of has it. But it isn't the same or as good. I want the "skimming" capability and I think we got pretty close to a really nice solution.

  • @theblackstandard
    @theblackstandard 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

    duuuuuude I was BEGGING for you to have a workaround for how FCPX handles audio automatically moving to different levels. It helps so much SOOOOO much with having multiple effects at the same time. Does the shift command drag and drop work here too? I really like Resolve, but the way FCPX handles audio in the timeline and categorizes them by type is a DREAM... C'mon Blackmagic...

    • @jakefelzien
      @jakefelzien  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Option shift drag should still work here if I’m remembering correctly. Place on top also works for audio (which I use all the time when dropping in SFX)
      And then you can move tracks up and down 😌

    • @jakefelzien
      @jakefelzien  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You must be new around here Chris 🤔
      There’s a lot of very functional reasons why you would want to be using Resolve over FCP 😌 but we love some of the bones of FCP naturally 😏

  • @dr.saadawy

    great video!
    Which video editing software would you recommend for a beginner who plans to edit/color grade/edit audio: DaVinci Resolve or Final Cut Pro?
    Coffee making & cooking videos type of thing!

    • @jakefelzien
      @jakefelzien  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I think DaVinci is probably best. Just depends on how much "color grading" you are wanting to do. For coffee and cooking, I think color grading is a huge asset to lean into so Resolve is probably the way to go.
      Plus you can start with the free version and if you hate it, also do the trail run for FCPX. But i bet you land on Resolve with the limited knowledge you gave me :)
