For me the single most important thing about folding phones is the form factor. It's why we choose folding phones in the first place. That's why I upgraded from the Fold 1 to the Fold 2, and now from the Fold 2 to the Xiaomi. They feel like the only generational leaps that have been made in terms of form factor. I've been loving the Xiaomi and any gripes are very minor and easy to get over when owning the phone.
Mix fold2 is missing some features that I can ignore. On the otherhand, it is giving some feature which I love: the slimness, the usable size, the fast charging and better Battery. Yet almost 400$ cheaper!!!! So, overall, I think Xiaomi have done a great job. Congratulations Xiaomi.
Ya 400 dollars cheaper but Samsung has amazing trade in, You can get $1200 for Z fold 3 in trade in so the MSRP doesn't actually matters much Samsung actually costs less and has warranty if you are outside china. In china Xiaomi is better but for rest of the world, I would say I still won't preffer a foldable yet. If Xiaomi was global it would have been my first choice or if Vivo was lighter and had better UI. Oppo is just not what I want as even when you unfold it, a 21:9 video will be smaller than normal flagships and 16:9 videos will be just slightly bigger so it beats the whole point of it.
You know that for Mi Fold 2, when you open TH-cam on the main screen, you can't fully maximize the screen. That's what I know from watching Flossy Carter review
Well put together bro 👌 Tbh i would go with the mix fold 2, it just makes the z fold 4 looks really old... And let's not forget that this is only xiaomi's 2nd try at a foldable and to be even and in some instances surpasses the z fold 4 is already a huge win for them.... Can you imagine what the mix fold 3 will be like when the 2nd is already this great 🤔.. exciting times...👌✌️✌️✌️
Been waiting for this smackdown. Great job as always, Ben. In terms of the crease for the next fold edition, Samsung have already stated that they want to maintain the ip6 rating, but hopefully the engineers will figure it out. I've had my ZF4 for 2 weeks now and absolutely love it.
Good comparison video! The form factor of the Mix Fold 2 is very nice but I can't get past the only open and close hinge and there's no IP rating for the peace of mind. Competition is good for everyone as it pushes innovation. Samsung and Xiaomi will keep refining their designs and I'm excited to see where it all goes.
Thanks Ben for your honest review. Xiaomi is not putting enough effort on their software, same sound issues across POCOs and several generation of Mi Lite_.. I simple won't spend my hard-earned money on any Xiaomi phones which is over 4000 HKD.
Actually a decent review without talking crap and being biased! I love Xiaomi approach towards foldables the only concern to me is software and 3rd party accessories (cases and screen protectors) I don't really care about wireless charging until it actually becomes wireless.
I chose to get the fold 4 based mainly on the software optimizations that we probably won't see on chinese foldables for a long while, and the s-pen was my 2nd reason. But yeah I still don't like its small cover display, the gap when folded, and to a lesser extent, the crease
Well you can't use the s pen without tempered as it scratches even the best glasses and we are talking about foldables here and there isn't going to be a tempered for them any time soon. And I don't think just for a stylus that you won't even have space to carry with you, you will ruin your inner display so I think you should neglect that point and color os and oxygen OS are far better than one UI and they are chinese, stop this cheap stereotype. It's Chinese and Indian engeneers who dominate the Silicon valley as well, what about their quality? And most of the smartphone and it's components are made in china only, I am not a chinese and my country is kinda a against china but that has nothing to do with the talented chinese engeneers. So learn to respect them. Samsung just hasn't shown any improvement and is going the apple way, I am an Android fan and other than the 10x zoom,Samsung hasen't impressed me much after the S9 series in terms of Innovation and improvement against their chinese counterparts.
Agreed! It's hard to pass Samsung for me, as it gets fast software and security updates. Their devices are also longer supported, at least for the next 2 to 3 years.
But then you wouldn't have water resistant if samsung used the teardrop design they were the first to try that design to make the phone completely flat they ditched it because it wouldn't be water resistant but they still working on the teardrop design to see if they can get it to be water resistant
Thanks for the review, you hit the nail on the head! If your country is not selling Xiaomi officially, don't even bother cause its more than $2K and you have no warranty or support.
Really hope the future Mix Fold will be launch globally. Was disappointed to know that Mix Fold 2 will not be in Malaysia, just like the Xiaomi 12s Ultra. Either 1 of these 2 will be my next flagship model to purchase.
While flex mode is an advantage, most users , including myself, rarely ever use it. You certainly don't buy a large folding phone to be able to use a smaller screen, which comes close in size to the cover screen (which is unusable in my opinion). So out side of filming yourself, it's not relevant. Wireless charging is a convenience and yes I truly love it, but It's stlll a wired connection and the extra two seconds to plug a phone in isn't a task that I can't handle. However, the really strong difference is in the UI. Samsung is far more polished. However, the hardware, with the exception of flex mode, belongs to Xiaomi. A marriage of the two (better software and better hardware) is what users, at least I would, really like to see.
I'm not in the market on getting a foldable phone anytime soon, but I like Xiaomi's approach on this one. Especially the form factor. They just need to refine both the hardware and software even further. If this phone launched globally it might force Samsung to innovate more instead of releasing an almost similar device from last year.
Z fold 4 can not go thinner because of the quality of the hinges, and the wireless charger need a place to put coil, unless z fold want to throw away the flex hinges and wireless charger it will be thinner, secondly if z fold is wider than it will be more bulky because it is thick, the ideas is front screen is for one handed operation, what for you have a wider phone while you can unfold it like a tablet
I have the Z Fold 4 but just ordered a Mix Fold 2 for import into the UK. Cannot wait to compare the two but think the Xiaomi will be better due to the outside screen. We shall see though.
@@lawrencetq5689yes it arrived last Tuesday. Loving it so far, now that I've got used to the software. The cameras are better on the z fold 4 but I'm not a pro photographer so good enough for me. I won't keep both so will sell one within the next month. As it stands I will probably sell the Samsung as the front screen is a game changer for me. I just want to test it a bit longer just to make sure.
@@lawrencetq5689 very similar in battery life. The Xiaomi easily gets through a day but can be charged 0-100% in about 40-45 minutes. I find I don't need tablet mode so much as can type easily on front screen so that helps battery life also. If I need to top up, 10 minutes will add over 20% battery anyway.
@@AndyT3ch superb replies. Finally, where did you buy from? How long for delivery? I might bite and get it. But then the honor magic v 2 is not far away with the snapdragon 8 gen 2. I want things now though lol
Thanks Ben once again for a great comparison video. I think Huawei makes the best foldable hardware : Huawei XS 2 & X2. I was thinking to buying the X2 but stopped because of Huawei's Google issues. I will wait for Samsung to increase the outer display size to a normal one with 21:9 aspect ratio. The Samsung software presently is fine but the hardware need some change. Until then I am watching.
I see people running all Google stuff on their Huawei, just as we do. actually a buddy of mine bought the Mate 50 Pro, awesome phone. Pics are killer ones !
hi ben! ive changed form 1 week with zfold4 and buy xiaomi fold 2 and i love it, i was scared cause i live in italy and with chine room i think all was a disaster but after i see you review i decide to buy. i know samsung has 2 years more about experience with fold for softwere, but the heavy weight of z fold is inaccetable for me. i use very well all day my fold 2 all work good (i need change something for the notification) but for me is ok. I hope that oppo, xiaomi, pixel and apple arrive soon with their foldable cause samsung has the monopoly of foldable now.
I think the gap in the fold 4 when folded is actually a feature! It prevents any debris that is left on the screen from mashing into the plastic layers when closed. i would be interested to see how other foldables hold up where the screens are flush together when closed.
You will get dust and maybe small sand particulate in the gap which makes it a negative for me. Easier to make sure your screen is clean when you fold it and closes shut all around so no more debris enters it.
I don't think the slightly bulkier in Z Fold 4 is an issue but it is easier for griping. Z Fold 4 has IPX7 water resistant, flex mode, support s pen. Functionalities win.
Software is better on the Fold definitely when you use Samsungs Goodlock app which adds a million more features. The camera system is better overall on the Fold. The Fold also has S-Pen which a lot of ppl love. The Xiaomi has a much better design especially with the larger/wider front screen. The crease is less visible. The IR Blaster is nice. I don’t care about wireless charging or an IP rating either but a lot of ppl do. Both Foldables are great and each one has certain things that the other doesn’t but overall, I’d say the Fold has more things over Xiaomi from an overall standpoint.
Great to hear your input Ben, love your timely content. I ended up with the Z Fold 4 here in Canada, for similar reasons you mentioned, so I am pretty happy with it considering all the pro's & cons of both phones. I was even seriously considering the Vivo X Fold. In the end I think for now I made the better decision, but, yeah my biggest issue is the form factor width, would have preferred it wider like the direction the imports are going. Keep up the great 1st hand insightful reviews - past and present.
Xiaomi form factor and feels more premium Samsung feature wise is better with IP rating, pen support, flex mode and software is much more polished plus you can use the fold 4 unfolded for zoom calls
I really love and respect that you mention that this is definitely a first-world problem. I myself can spend hours watching reviews and deciding which device to get, but it's actually time horribly-spent, since there are much more important things in the world that I should put my hours in. Thanks for reminding me again! And like the review btw!
100% win for Xiaomi for me, because i like normal outer screen size, premium box still include charger, better camera, no gap ,IR blaster(i need this), only lack of flexmode and inner screen camera(we need this for video call in bigger screen) , and lastly wireless charging but not everyone need it because using cable is much more faster. IP rating i don't mention about it,why? do people go diving everyday or intentionally wash your phone everyday?? just clean your phone with towel or when raining go find a shady place. Chinese foldable should release global.
Software is better on the Fold definitely when you use Samsungs Goodlock app which adds a million more features. The camera system is better overall on the Fold. I agree with all your points..I’ve had all folds and the worst part is the size of the outer screen.I seem to end up not taking the fold out and use my older S21 ultra as it’s more strait forward to use .I end up using my iPad at home so for me it’s a novelty which I occasionally use.If you just have the one phone then the fold could be the answer beware there is more opening and closing using the z fold 4
Superb showdown Ben indeed👏👏. I personally think that the two features the fold 4 has over the mix 2. Are the ipx rating and the stylus support n storage. And your reasoning is sound, because overall the fold4 has more winning features and it's global. It would be the phone that makes more sense to pick up. With all of that aside, you are still torn Ben between these two, which says a lot about how good the Mix fold 2 is. Thank you for the great Content Ben🙂✌✌
This video makes me wanna wait more for the Fold 5 :D Which will beat all expectance, as new hinge type is coming and other optimisation with future Android versions will come out. Thank you ! :)
I'm One UI guy but for me Oppo Find N is the perfect foldable phone. I'll holding until Samsung make same size foldable phone or Oppo improve their software to One UI level.
Great review! 1 thing I think you missed is that the Mix fold 2 does not have an internal camera which is a problem for me when doing a video call on the bigger screen.
Thank you Ben, I was hesitating which one to buy, but you are right I am in the USA and the point about the warranty and the 5G bands are probably more important. I guess will take Z fold 4.
The mix fold 2 isn't lighter than fold 4, only slimmer. The weight disparity between the two is pretty much negligible at 1-2g (without any case) so not sure why you kept mentioning it as "lighter". It's misleading.
The issue is that these other brands maki ng foldables like Xiaomi is only on China. But I hope Fold 5 to have more normal aspect ratio on cover screen like the Xiaomi does. This would make Fold 5 perfect since it already have pen support, if they can make S Pen work on cover screen, this is the ultimate Note replacement. They could even reuse Note branding on Fold series if they want.
I'm impressed with what Xiaomi brings to the foldable world...we need some healthy competition to Samsung. Importing Xiaomi to the US without a warranty and questionable 5G coverage are enough of an issue that I will remain on the Samsung Z Fold camp. Any idea when Xiaomi will officially come to the US?
Best review on youtube, One thing to mention the gap when the phone is closed, is better on the mi fold, I hope samsung will make the fold 5 much better with build in spen support and micro sd card slot for better multitasking like a real power house. We really hope fold 5 would be the best foldable ever. Ben you are so good in making reviews,
Xiaomi's engineers should watch this video and pick up on those features they need to catch up on(which doesn't seem so many)...ultimately what they would gain would be a bigger worldwide share of the market... Perhaps we'll see the improvements in the next Mix Fold series.Aside from the few advantages Samsung has and it's trade in deals, ultimately their devices are really over priced for many people to own one... Thanks for another great review.I'll be looking out for the next Mix Fold device by Xiaomi...🙇
I'm a little late to the party. But I'm hyped to buy the Mix 2. the only downfall for me is the camera and water resistance. I live in China, and dont really use google apps other than TH-cam. It's a no brainer for me to get the Mix 2
The Mix Fold 2's included case has a kickstand which doubles as flex mode, and I assume that everyone's going to put on a case on something this fragile. Same for the Z Fold 4, and some cases will feature a S-pen holder. The biggest issue for me with the Mix Fold 2 is resale value, outside of niche tech circles it's an unknown phone and so it's near impossible to sell one at a good price when it's time to upgrade, whereas Samsung have plastered ads everywhere and everyone knows about the Z Fold 4, and Samsung also maintains a decent trade-in programme. However the size of the folded screen and the thickness/weight of the Z Fold 4 is an absolute killer for me, and there's no way I could work with the Z Fold 4 when folded. As such I won't be buying either device, unless someone decides to sell a Mix Fold 2 second hand in a year's time. To be honest, if Samsung released the Mix Fold 2, that would be the perfect foldable phone for me. I think they're counting themselves lucky that Xiaomi is only releasing this phone in China.
The galaxy fold pen is actually a burden that needs to be carried and it does not function as note do with its in house storage. Wireless is nothing to most users. But i do like flex mode but I would not trade it for thin and size of front screen which is more important to me. I like samsung ui more because it is more flexible and dynamic. Like the zoom capability too.
I kinda agree with you when it comes to Samsung fold, It’s better for people who live in the USA for soft wear Compatibility and some apps don’t run on chines phone such a google assistant
S pen comes free with phone and includes case to hold pen. Its actually useful. I use it to sketch up drawings of site visits. This is a business tool at the end of the day, not really a toy.
I think Samsung had a reason they made it a little bit smaller for a lot of the things you mentioned.. If you're going to buy this device for an outside screen using it all the time because the same size as your standard slab fold BUY A SLAB PHONE!! The outside phone is only supposed to be for quick things for the most part you want the best experience which is in the inside. So you should be typing the most in the inside not the outside.. If you're an outside person a slab person always using the outside why would you want all of that extra bulk.. I think Samsung took the right approach.. You don't think they thought of making it bigger of course they did. It also cuts down on the weight when it's smaller it does make a difference having extra holding it on you all the time.
@@MarcoTooFly currently on Att on my business line... so far so good.. xiaomi is on their blacklist from what I heard. Reception is pretty good. 4g mainly.. I heard it's better with tmobile which is my personal line. I have my s22 ultra on it. Before I put my Sim card in I updated the rom, enabled wifi and voip calling.
For me the front screen is perfect. It's like a window to a house. Unfold if you need a bigger canvas. Don't expect it to be your normal sized slab screen when folded. Just get a normal slab phone if you can't appreciate the concept. I hope Samsung never change this idea. Just my opinion. It's why a house has a window and a door. You can see through both but...
Samsung needs to create something halfway between the both of these phones in size. It should be thinner, lighter with a more "normal" outside screen size while giving that amazing mini tablet experience when open. I loved my Fold 3 and love my Fold 4 one terabyte model even more. I look forward to the advancement of this technology.
Thanks for another great review. I've wanted a foldable and was excited about Vivo's updated foldable but doesn't seem like it's going to be a big improvement on their current. Likely will end getting the Vivo X80 Pro +
Hi Ben, I very good video. You answer many question that I had....but respect to FLEX MODE remember the XIAOMI has a case for put in this position...... I have a fold 4 but I bought last week a XIAOMI MIX FOLD 2 ( I am waiting the shipping....) I think is a dificult choice ....but If XIAOMI decide sale the FOLD 2 in USA and EUROPE ...SAMSUNG they will have a big problem....!! Anyone fight with SAMSUNG around the world with the FOLDABLES PHONE ..for this reason SAMSUNG has advantage . I think the next year VIVO, OPPO, XIAOMI and others companies they will sale foldables phones around the world NOT ONLY IN CHINA...!1 THANKS A LOT FOR YOU VIDEOS ....THEY HAVE A VERY GOOD EXPLANATIONS....!! SORRY FOR MY ENGLISH MANY YEARS WITHOUT PRACTISE.....!!
I totally agree with you on having to choose between which devices to put your SIM card in. The more phones you use allow you to better see and feel exactly what you like and dislike about phones. Ergonomics and in-hand feel are key areas. The Fold 4 is a really nice device. Really wish the color options were better. The Fold 4's construction feels solid. I don't like that they made the halves thicker because the phones feels a bit chunkier than last year, but folding and unfolding feels rock solid with a little bit more force needed to do it.
Got my Z fold 4 a month ago and it’s so good so far. At first I’m annoyed by the gap when it’s closed. But then realizing they did that so the dust wont get stuck inside and scratch the screen or damage it by any means… it’s okay for me then. But yeah it is a bit bulky and uncomfortable to grip when folded
I bought Galaxy Fold 4 because i have a guarantee, samsung have a better screen, camera , amazing sound and better multitasking. Yeah, maybe Xiaomi is thiner and sometimes better but it without guarantee and only for asian market.
Let's not forget to mention the Mix fold 2 DOESN'T have a camera on the big internal screen, which means no video calling on the main screen. Huge deal breaker for me. 😔
I am exactly torn because of these reasons. So great video, Ben!...I would like to add missing android auto support on the Xiaomi...though through root it can be fixed (according to the poster). Also I have read, that the the vertical Modus for Splitscreen can be used when the Xiaomi optimization is disabled in the settings.....again I haven't have a device to test. The better choice is still the fold4 ....but my heart likes the Xiaomi better ....
No wireless charger in 2022 is a no go for me. No chance. I only charge my phones wirelessly. Also a foldable without flex mode is kind of useless. I also don't like xiaomi software. Fold 4 all the way.
one design aspect i really like about the mix, is the camera module being horizontal, not vertical. i hate the phone rocking when on a flat surface, samsung software(i love their keyboard) on the mix would be fantastic.
If Xiaomi release the mix fold 2 globally and fix most of the software issue, would probably kill the z fold 4 on a long run. Don't think this would happen with this generation. Maybe the next mi fold will be global. Till now as you said the z fold 4 is a better device for the western market.
Hey Ben, you should watch your own videos before posting lol. A lot of times there are duplicate scenes where you make a point twice almost like you meant to cut it out of the final product. Great vids none the less.
10:08 Samsung has demonstrated since DAY ONE that the narrow outer display is literally meant for ONE-HANDED usage. If you're using two hands to type on it, you're literally using it wrong.
I have the Fold 4 and hate that small cover screen. I hate it more now that I've ordered the Mate XS2 and it'll be here in a couple of days. Can't wait to sell the Fold 4.
if people want wireless charging so bad you can go to amazon an literally get a type c wireless charging ''pad'' that connects to your port folds into the phone an wirelessly charges that way for like $10 or so. Flex mode is nice... if you want your front screen to get scratched to hell eventually i wouldnt dare risk that, screen protectors dont last that long either
We need a Samsung fold with the same form factor as Xiaomi, it would fly off the shelves. One of the biggest reasons a lot of people including myself don’t buy folds is the odd aspect ratio front screen.
@@bensgadgetreviews Quick question..is there a way to Force my Z Fold4 5G to stay at 120hz on the refresh rate like my Z Fold2 5G..I noticed my Z Fold4 5G changes to 24 to 30 and 120hz when scrolling thur the phone and on TH-cam and streaming moives/videos even when it is set to " Adapttive Smoothness" in settings..I know it's probably doing that to save power life but I rather it didn't.. Thx in advance..
I'd really like to buy the Xiaomi Mix fold 2 but I have a question about would it be possible to add another software button ( volume ) to the navigation bar ? As the Good Lock for Samsung ..... Thank you in advance
I like g board and I usually like my Xiaomi than my note20 as well but xioami doesn't have many tweeks that Samsung has but xioami has my favourite when it comes to copying files and photos Xiaomi has original details etc which I love.
Neither have sold me yet. Both are too expensive and compromised. If someone gave me one for free, I would ask for the Mix Fold2 as I have no interest in multitasking and the front display aspect ratio is more suitable for me (iPhone user). I tried the Sony line and did not get on with the thin and tall take. I suppose they are all just trying their luck, and for sure the Fold will never be where we finally land for this hybrid tablet/phone, Huawei has the right idea and if the US had not banned them and there was no COVID or Euro war or recession or inflation, then I suspect Huawei would have been leading the way in foldables.
Great video I still would pick the xiaomi over samsung. They have been making the fold for a while now and with fold 4 and not getting that phone flat seems to me that there is not much thought and effort into producing that phone. I think the company is resting on the fact that the US limits compition from China and that's sad for consumers.
Mix Fold 2 is the best foldable device at the moment. Yes the software is not perfect and thats the only thing Samsung Fold wins. Folding in half has no real benefits, wireless charging is not even wireless & has no real benefits, IP rating doesn't mean you can use it under water. Mix Fold 2 is good
It would be so convenient if I could place a stylus anywhere on the back of a device and charge it (using reverse wireless charging). I'm not sure why nobody has thought about this.
ZFold Products are waterproof thus require the crease something other foldable don't have rendering them with creaseless screens. Please mention that or Samsung would have no crease as well. I have zfold3 and received new features updated 9.12.22 and it almost completely changes how productive I am and 2 fingers swipe from any side actives split-screen, makes for a much more amazing experience. My hopes is ZFold Products don't thinning, due to I want onboard spen support added. If they don't add spen, then make thinner. IMO.
@ ben's gadget reviews I've heard so much of this @Xiaomi #MixFold2 ... Very Enticing, indeed! My only gripe would likely be how fast, often, and long would it get @Android #securityupdates ... 2.. 3.. years ?? @Samsung #GalaxySeries + #FoldSeries + #FlipSeries has a *remarkable history* of getting *fast and efficient* security + software updates. I've had 2 #Xiaomi devices before (Redmi Note 3 and Mi A1 -- both #Snapdragon versions) and more recently the #Samsung #ZFlip3; and ready to move into the upper-tier Fold Series...

Ben, that's great! I'm about to choose between Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Xiaomi Mix Fold 2. Your review is really helpful.
I'm not in the market on getting a foldable phone anytime soon, but I like Xiaomi's approach on this one. Especially the form factor. They just need to refine both the hardware and software even further.
If this phone launched globally it might force Samsung to innovate more instead of releasing an almost similar device from last year.
Damn bro, i love the hardware better of Xiaomi, wish it had good software support/updates like samsung
How you only have 201.000 subscribtions is a mystery to me. Great comparison. Thanks.
I have the Z Fold 4 but just ordered a Mix Fold 2 for import into the UK. Cannot wait to compare the two but think the Xiaomi will be better due to the outside screen. We shall see though.
Has it arrived yet? What do you think of the fold 2?
@@lawrencetq5689yes it arrived last Tuesday. Loving it so far, now that I've got used to the software. The cameras are better on the z fold 4 but I'm not a pro photographer so good enough for me. I won't keep both so will sell one within the next month. As it stands I will probably sell the Samsung as the front screen is a game changer for me. I just want to test it a bit longer just to make sure.
@@AndyT3ch good news. That's for the reply. I might get too. I have the fold 4 also. Which has better battery life?
Huawei is a non event now
I see people running all Google stuff on their Huawei, just as we do. actually a buddy of mine bought the Mate 50 Pro, awesome phone.
They all have raised bezels so no screen touches other side
You will get dust and maybe small sand particulate in the gap which makes it a negative for me. Easier to make sure your screen is clean when you fold it and closes shut all around so no more debris enters it.
Same thinking🤗🤗 maybe its a feature
Uh no, if anything it allows debris to get in while it’s closed lol
I like more Miui !❤️
Great to hear your input Ben, love your timely content. I ended up with the Z Fold 4 here in Canada, for similar reasons you mentioned, so I am pretty happy with it considering all the pro's & cons of both phones. I was even seriously considering the Vivo X Fold. In the end I think for now I made the better decision, but, yeah my biggest issue is the form factor width, would have preferred it wider like the direction the imports are going. Keep up the great 1st hand insightful reviews - past and present.
Xiaomi form factor and feels more premium
Samsung feature wise is better with IP rating, pen support, flex mode and software is much more polished plus you can use the fold 4 unfolded for zoom calls
Thanks, but I'll stick to Fold4, although I prefer the aspect ratio on the 3
I really love and respect that you mention that this is definitely a first-world problem.
Chinese foldable should release global.
good luck to the xiaomi's mix fold software.
Software is better on the Fold definitely when you use Samsungs Goodlock app which adds a million more features.

Front screen on z fold4 is perfect love the size
The SPen functionality is the killer feature. It's why I prefer Z Fold 4.
Yup, I respect your review and your own opinion, my love will never change...at the end it's love that unite us, Ben 😘😘😘🤣
Thank you ! :)
Or the Pixel Fold ... ?
You've got some great insights in this video, Ben! Excellent 👍
I will be excited to see what they do with the new fold 5 next year. hopefully they realise they got some competition and improve where it is needed.
They don't have competition tho. Chinese foldables are only for China and Samsung barely sells phones there.
@@kornkernel2232 I really hope they don't make the screen any bigger, love this size, maybe the s-pen in the front screen but love the size
Pixel Fold ...
Wait for sd8gen2 and globalrom for that
As of now im just waiting
Best review on youtube,
One thing to mention the gap when the phone is closed, is better on the mi fold,
I hope samsung will make the fold 5 much better with build in spen support and micro sd card slot for better multitasking like a real power house.
We really hope fold 5 would be the best foldable ever.
Ben you are so good in making reviews,
Awesome content and video comprision as always Ben's Sir
Xiaomi's engineers should watch this video and pick up on those features they need to catch up on(which doesn't seem so many)...ultimately what they would gain would be a bigger worldwide share of the market...
Perhaps we'll see the improvements in the next Mix Fold series.Aside from the few advantages Samsung has and it's trade in deals, ultimately their devices are really over priced for many people to own one...
Thanks for another great review.I'll be looking out for the next Mix Fold device by Xiaomi...🙇
The same goes for Samsung engineers 😀
Very important comparison between both! Thanks Ben.
I'm a little late to the party. But I'm hyped to buy the Mix 2. the only downfall for me is the camera and water resistance. I live in China, and dont really use google apps other than TH-cam. It's a no brainer for me to get the Mix 2
I love your revues that are always complete and very objectives. If I had the budget for a foldable phone, I would go for the Z Fold 4! Take care!
Thank you
Goodlock is another feature win for Samsung. I swipe on my FOLD 4 front screen with G Board, no issues at all.
Most definitely! Gotta love all the customization Goodlock brings!
What gimbal stabilizers would be compatible with those foldable phones?
The galaxy fold pen is actually a burden that needs to be carried and it does not function as note do with its in house storage. Wireless is nothing to most users. But i do like flex mode but I would not trade it for thin and size of front screen which is more important to me. I like samsung ui more because it is more flexible and dynamic. Like the zoom capability too.
Ben bringing more content straight to ya dome like whoa whoa whoa
I kinda agree with you when it comes to Samsung fold, It’s better for people who live in the USA for soft wear Compatibility and some apps don’t run on chines phone such a google assistant
Love my Z Fold 4, the software is so good.
S pen comes free with phone and includes case to hold pen. Its actually useful. I use it to sketch up drawings of site visits. This is a business tool at the end of the day, not really a toy.
Great review, but what about the Vivo X fold compared to Z fold 4?
Watching with my Mix Fold 2 in the US. So far so good..
How’s the cellphone reception? What carrier are you on?
Big thumbs up for the honest and detailed experience comparison. 👍🏼
Great review as always I appreciate your channel and use your reviews now as a base point on what phones I get. Keep doing your thing.
Thank you man
@@bensgadgetreviews no problem fam you def have a subscriber great content
I think the next year VIVO, OPPO, XIAOMI and others companies they will sale foldables phones around the world NOT ONLY IN CHINA...!1
THANKS A LOT FOR YOU VIDEOS ....THEY HAVE A VERY GOOD EXPLANATIONS....!!
100% agree with everything you said in this vid, I went with the fold4 but looks wise Xiaomi did a great job.
It’s still a win for samsung. The hinge just simply overrules the thickness with it’s purpose
No wireless charger in 2022 is a no go for me. No chance. I only charge my phones wirelessly. Also a foldable without flex mode is kind of useless.
I also don't like xiaomi software. Fold 4 all the way.
one design aspect i really like about the mix, is the camera module being horizontal, not vertical.
i hate the phone rocking when on a flat surface,
samsung software(i love their keyboard) on the mix would be fantastic.
If Xiaomi release the mix fold 2 globally and fix most of the software issue, would probably kill the z fold 4 on a long run. Don't think this would happen with this generation. Maybe the next mi fold will be global. Till now as you said the z fold 4 is a better device for the western market.
every year something is supposed to "Kill a Samsung product"
Hey Ben, you should watch your own videos before posting lol. A lot of times there are duplicate scenes where you make a point twice almost like you meant to cut it out of the final product. Great vids none the less.
Great video. As always.
The Galaxy z fold 4 being more narrow makes it easier to hold and for me to reach everywhere on the phone screen
Gboard definitely has a split keyboard option. I can enable it on Samsung in the toolbar menu on top. Is it disabled on the other phone?
If only the mix had better software and ran 5G it would be the clear winner in my eyes. Hopefully one day they will make this for the US.
10:08 Samsung has demonstrated since DAY ONE that the narrow outer display is literally meant for ONE-HANDED usage.
If you're using two hands to type on it, you're literally using it wrong.
Find me where Samsung says the cover screen is "only" for one hand use. You're literally remembering it wrong

Another useful feature of Samsung is DEX. No other phone companies are offering
One of the biggest reasons a lot of people including myself don’t buy folds is the odd aspect ratio front screen.
please battery drain ?
what is better ?
Ben. For me on both x fold and OPPO find n the Gboard can split in the big screen. I recommend u check the g board version you have.
I've tried updating it several times. Even joined the beta. Still can't do it

Quick question..is there a way to Force my Z Fold4 5G to stay at 120hz on the refresh rate like my Z Fold2 5G..I noticed my Z Fold4 5G changes to 24 to 30 and 120hz when scrolling thur the phone and on TH-cam and streaming moives/videos even when it is set to " Adapttive Smoothness" in settings..I know it's probably doing that to save power life but I rather it didn't..
Thx in advance..
I'd really like to buy the Xiaomi Mix fold 2 but I have a question about
would it be possible to add another software button ( volume ) to the navigation bar ?
As the Good Lock for Samsung .....
Thank you in advance
do they have creative third party launchers yet ?
I like g board and I usually like my Xiaomi than my note20 as well but xioami doesn't have many tweeks that Samsung has but xioami has my favourite when it comes to copying files and photos Xiaomi has original details etc which I love.
You also forgot the fold 4 has 8K video recording capabilities. It doesn't crop the video even better than the S22 ultra.
You can't make it IPX7 rated when it's in the Xiaomi form factor, hence why Samsung is sticking to their design
Wow love the Xiaomi! Can I use it in the U.S with version? Could you recommend where I could buy it?
Which gear are you using for the video?
I like the size and the price of Xiaomi but everything else goes to Samsung,
Hi Ben! How does the xiaomi fold 2 compared with vivo x fold?
I choose the mix fold, I don't like smaller screens, I like phablet to tablet, not candy bar to a phablet
IMO.

I've heard so much of this @Xiaomi #MixFold2 ... Very Enticing, indeed!
My only gripe would likely be how fast, often, and long would it get @Android #securityupdates ... 2.. 3.. years ??

I've had 2 #Xiaomi devices before (Redmi Note 3 and Mi A1 -- both #Snapdragon versions) and more recently the #Samsung #ZFlip3; and ready to move into the upper-tier Fold Series...
