How Sta-Stuk works during the bite.

  • As we began playing with this whole project, we figured out that a hook was a just a lever, I started studying what happens when the hook is actually trying to go into the fish or anything that were catching. When I started playing with the hooks, I literally was amazed at what I saw.
This is our standard J hooks like we've been using forever. If you're going to try to stick it in something, what you are going to notice as I begin to pull, all of a sudden you'll see this shank is literally rolling almost 35 degrees from what I'm trying to stick. Ideally, I would like that to be perfectly straight, but what's happening, is it's coming literally all the way over. If you look at it real close, you'll notice that it point is actually laying there so we know that the shorter the **** the more the hook will roll. What I really love about the Sta-Stuk as we made it about 37% longer on the bite, so you can see it iw super long. When you get yourself in that same situation as you can see now your role is probably 15 to 20 degrees less than it was when your typical J. You can see your angle of attack is actually straight into your target here versus playing this way to the hook. That was the first thing that we thought was a major breakthrough.
Of course, there are long shank hooks but a long shank during the fight is your worst nightmare and will show you how that works during in the next sectional fight.
