Oh my god I want the tote bag so badly!!! hopefully it’s still in stock in your store by the time my birthday rolls around, I’d love to be able to support you and get a cute practical gift for myself at the same time ❤
Katsucon is a really big con in Maryland! It’s not a super far drive from nyc either. Like 3 1/2 hours ish? I have a friend who takes the train back and forth for school. Ive also had really good experiences with the artist alley there!
i heard about it!! im def looking for more cons but idk if im emotionally ready for out of state esp considering how much i earned this time it may not be worth it…
Pricing tends to be cost of materials + machine costs and maintenance × (hours needed to make and package a product × minimum wage or rate of pay for an employee wages), and then × by 3 to garner business profits and enough money to cover expenses and operation costs. But thats usually the determinant batch cost or one really expensive item. If you order a batch of bags or shirts to customize or sell with your patterns printed on, you need to divide the cost by the number of items in a batch to minimize customer guaffing at the cost of a shirt. But, like, dont overthink the cost of a shirt if your print shop shirt charges you a lot per batch and you spent hours or days making that art or pattern. 40 bucks for an artists' shirt of a pattern i want might make me wince, but if you advertise you were going to be at the con with con specific merch on all the social medias or your were gonna sign stuff if asked, a cute pattern on a shirt will still sell because people are interacting with the artist- they are interacting with You. Sure, 35-40 bucks for a t shirt can be iffie, but if its a high quality material and a high quality print, that shirt would be in my closet for years. Also, dont overwork yourself for con prep, just get a good table cloth and a sturdy display, and people will lose it over stickers and keychains at cons. Weve all seen it, weve all done it. Weve all spent like 20 bucks on an acrylic keychain of an anime character we like. We already knew it was going to be expensive if this isnt our first con. And usually first cons always have sticker shock, water and soda at convention center food vendors is like at least $5 more than it needs to be.
