I love the robot reviews man. I recently got Mebo 2.0 and I love it! So do you think this is better than the Alpha 1S? They have an alpha 2 out but it isn’t on Amazon.
Hopefully they get around the "ask lynx" and you can speak to it as one. example: Lynx take a photo

Yup Alexa is the brain and Lynx is the body sadly. So you have to say Alexa ask Lynx to do.... blah, honestly it’s a great concept but it’s a poor execution

This looks like a Nao. Just better company, or whatever. Is this like the 3rd iteration of Nao's younger brother line ups? I think Ubtech Alpha was the first little brother of Nao. Or was it the JJRC Cady Wida? They all look like Nao.
BTW, any plans to do a review of Cozmo's latest 2.1 update that includes new advanced constructor mode, as well as new game modes to do with it? I think you reviewed previous versions of Cozmo's app, I thought I check about this one anyway.

If you have $800 that you don't want, instead of being inconvenienced by going to the ATM, pulling out the money, & setting it on fire, you could just buy this.
I like this robot, however cozmo is still the best. It's all about purpose and preference at the end.

Kahn I contacted UBTech asking them if the SDK was available for Lynx in order to further develop the Robot.They said no, it was not open source. My main issue with this Robot is that you must go through Alexa in order to communicate with the Robot and that limits its functionality. I want a Robot I can program to utilize either "deep mind" or "Watson" AI. Pepper is probably what I want but can't get at the moment. Still waiting to see if we get something this year, 2018 in the form of Pepper, or even Buddy that learns based on the two cloud sources mentioned above. Keep up the good works!
Look at getting a used Nao. That’s what I did and it’s probably one of the best programmable robots. If you are looking for a cheap buy then believe it or not, Cozmo is the best on the market. Lynx has too many boundaries and it really limits you, not to mention in terms of movement it really is slow. It’s literally an Alexa in a robot body

Khan Flicks Kahn, it never crossed my mind Cozmo was programmable. I guess I will look into it. Einstein another possibility but not sure what is available. A NAO would be a dream but I can't spend $7K. on research Robot. A used one for a reasonable price would be obtainable. Maybe in the future as component cost start to go down a used NAO might come through.

I have Alexa but this is very pricy. I need to find some way to get it by saving or find it on a different website. I’d love my Alexa to become a robot. And I thought it was the future and wasn’t here but it was here 2 years ago before I even knew Alexa existed.

What if u dont have a alexa
Now that you have had it for a while can you do videos of what you have found it does, or doesn’t? Also, will the thing walk around like the Nao? I have only seen it take a few steps in videos. Thinking about buying one, but want more than a dancing robot.
It’s literally amazon Alexa in a robot. It doesn’t do much other then that. The dancing is cool among the other tricks but it is pretty simple in that sense. It’s a cool robot for what it is, but compared to Nao it’s nothing like it. Nao is a different ball park

In avatar mode it gives you control of him, being movement and gestures. He is probably the slowest robot in terms of humanoids for walking.

Further question about Lynx, does it respond to things like "Alexa ask lynx to sit/stand"? and it recognizes you by name when you show it your face, correct?

The development of these robots is an amazing intellectual achievement of humanity. The problem is not the robot, It’s the habit of humanity that it pushes us more towards that’s dangerous. Disconnecting ourselves from the reality of the world. This coincides with the dangerous habit humanity has of developing products and equipment and pushing them out into our economy without having a sustainable waste disposal method that doesn’t damage our health established. This is a habit of humanity has been going on for so many decades now that it has lead to the point that we as Americans have developed so much toxic waste with ignoring the fact that it threatens our health and the environment we rely on to survive, That we have 4 years to develop new methods of living in America and 10 years to reverse a good portion of our damage to the environment around us, Or it’s a definite that we will die of natural disaster within the next 12 years. This habit paired with fear also pushes us in our psyche to want to ignore that even though the problem is such an urgent threat. Let’s use our intelligence to direct our capabilities the right way to new methods of living as a species. The things that make up the waste that will be the death of us are things in our average Americans lives that we don’t care for anyways, Things that would never be worth dieing a horrible death in 10 years for like plastic cups, tooth brushes, Makeup, Vinyl, Turf and many other things. We’re being foolish using such toxic materials with our intellectual levels when there is other options. When will we prioritize what we use our intelligence for as a species to impress the world?
