    I second that last comment. The western rail corridor needs be reopened from Portadown onto Armagh and then onto connecting up with Sligo in the west. Also the line above needs to be reopened too.

    The need to reopen the Western Rail Corridor connecting Galway with Mayo, Sligo, Donegal and Northern Ireland counties of course.

    Mm let us await the N-S Rail Review, commissioned by both govts. Certainly there is a clear argument for re- instatement of Portadown - Armagh. But beyond that, pure economics come in. The major cost of any railway is the track itself.
