    Reopening the closed railway lines of Ireland both North and South makes sense to cut down on pollution, road deaths, car accidents and traffic jams.

    It's incredible the stupidity shown then by the politicians who no doubt who profited by the railways closure.
    That stupidity or more likely the criminal activity of our present politicians continues as the reopening of part or all of the " Derry Road" should have been undertaken with the money available from EU funds. Instead the money has been wasted and thrown away on useless idiotic schemes which defy common sense. Road traffic has hugely increased without the much needed release valve a modern railway offers. Despite several attempts to reopen disused rail lines including petitions etc our present politicians show no interest, more likely the lack of available "bungs" their main interest

    ah yeh cars are the future... the freedom... cept for the accidents, pollution, jams, car parks instead of green parks and the expense!
