  • In the heart of Central Pennsylvania (centrally located within Centre County no less), Bellefonte has a little bit for everyone. For the trout fishing enthusiasts, you have Spring Creek - one of Pennsylvania’s premiere wild brown trout fisheries - as well as other limestone spring influneced and freestone streams surrounded by hundreds of thousands of acres of State Forest, Game, and Park Lands. If your into American history, Bellefont boasts ties to our industrial past with iron works and manufacturing as well as resource extraction. If you appreciate architecture, treat yourself to downtown Victorian Bellefonte’s Historic District. It’s like stepping back in time to the late 19th century - with incredibly well preserved buildings. After a long day fly fishing, do yourself a favor by supporting some local restaurants and shops, you’ll be glad you did. Join me today on our 2nd TROUT TOWN in Bellefonte PA.

      It’s a great channel he fishes some really cool waters. Be warned, the fish handling in some of his earlier videos is atrocious but other than that one of my favorite fishing TH-camrs

      Thank you both, appreciate the support! And yes, the early vids are super cringe and poor fishing handling but I am trying to be better every day.

    Wow...I'm impressed! You have hit here on something. Why not include history, local eateries, and nostalgia into your productions? When I would travel to any great fishing destination, some of my most precious memories are these...! You my friend are becoming a great producer. Keep it up! Next stop? Your own syndicated show!

    Absolutely fell in love with spring creek and the Bellefonte area after I just finished up my freshman year at penn state. It was my first time diving into fly fishing and euro nymphing, definitely can’t wait to be back up and record more outings!

      Now that you have established yourself as a good producer ( I love your enthusiasm...."Got em...Got em!" And your funny humor)...now you need some sponsorship. So research the area that you will fish. Like example...your Lick Run Video. Whats nearby? Lock Haven! Penns Creek ...State College! Find eateries and other landmarks in that area. Give them TH-cam advertising...and get them to give money to promote your videos. I'm always looking to watch your latest addition. You have this special way. Trout fisherman and entertainer. You're young. Please...go for it!

    Excellent video, btw. Well rounded and good quality production. Carlisle will put you on several famous streams. Letort, Big Spring, Yellow Breeches, Falling spring all within driving distance.

      I have about half of my Carlisle episode already completed - I'm doing Letort and Big Springs, which are both pretty tough fisheries. Hopefully it comes out okay. Thanks!

    Hey Chief. Super job. Really interesting and real, which is rare. Love adding the history!
    I grew up in Valley Forge, nice trout and history too.
    Left PA 40 years ago to Charleston SC. If you ever want to throw a fly at a tailing redfish I can pole you. Nice history too. Been watching for a couple years.
    Keep up the great work.
    Cheers mate. Gregg

      Good luck! Between Spring, Penns, Little J, Bald Eagle, Big Fishing, and all of the freestoners nearby on public lands, you should have a great time. Weather looks good too.

    did you mention the name of the second stream? I missed it.

    • @TravelingTroutCo
      @TravelingTroutCo  ปีที่แล้ว

      I’ve (as of late) refrained from naming smaller and lesser known streams. All I can say is that it was in Black Moshannon State Park. good luck!

    I thought Spring Creek was polluted such that it only held Diptera gnats....Wild trout have sharp edged fins...hatchery raised trout ghave rounded fins due to crowding.

    • @TravelingTroutCo
      @TravelingTroutCo  ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm pretty sure Spring Creek was polluted historically but has since rebounded considerably.

    You should write a book and a just let everyone know the best fishing spots! At least you finally have net I guess

      It's funny you mention that. If I continue with 'Trout Towns' long enough, I was thinking about writing a book (at least for Pennsylvania). Thanks for the comment!

    Focus more on restaurants maybe - ppl like to go on Day trips and stop for a bite to eat! just a suggestion . nice work

      It's interesting you mention that. My favorite two TV's shows are River Monsters (fishing) and Diners, Drive In's and Dives. So someday I'd love to incorporate food/drink places to go to after fishing locally. Just need to figure out the logistics of legally filming inside the restaurant with their buy-in. Good idea and thanks!

    Seem to be afraid of holding a Rainbow. Noticed that in your other videos as well. Did one bite you in the past?

    • @TravelingTroutCo
      @TravelingTroutCo  ปีที่แล้ว

      It's less about Rainbows specifically and more about stocked trout generally. Between the stunted fins and other abnormalities, I'm not a huge fan of holding stockers.
