Looks like you’re having fun. I found a Diamona 65g stiff at a thrift store for $3 No tip. Sooooo?? I couldn’t let it sit with no home. Bought a tip for $12 from Amazon. It felt great. I mounted an M2 head, and use it as a back up to my Titleist
I definitely shop the used shaft graveyard. I figured out real quick you can find just about any shaft you want second hand. For the price it's worth a go. If you can't get on you can move it along fairly quickly with a minimal loss at worst. In some case you may break even or come out ahead. Personally I can't wait for irons to have adjustable adapters too. I think that will be the next evolution. Especially since fitters have that ability now. It's only a matter of time. Manufacturers can't say it's a weight thing since they are used for fitting. Not sure what the excuse would be. Other than potentially manufacturing the heads differently.
Yes, I went to a driver fitting at the local American golf and they tried three or four shafts, but the best one by far was a Yonex, I can’t remember the exact exact model number but I remember the colour it was a dark red. I recently bought a ping G425 max head and whilst browsing eBay I came across the same driver shaft 40 quid in stiff. the thing is a beast I cannot miss a fairway. My dispersion is very low and distances up by about 10 to 15 yards from previous cobra offerings.
I'm a huge advocate of the exotic shaft graveyard. I tested and fell in love with my Oban Kiyoshi Gold 65X in my driver because it was cheap on eBay and I thought I'd take a punt on it. I now play Oban in all 3 woods. 65X Gold in driver 75X White in 4 Wood and 85X Black in 7 wood.
When I was fitted for my TSi4 I tried four or five of the standard offerings in shafts and didn't particularly like any of them. Then, along came the Tour AD Di6 S for an up charge of $200 and the difference was like night and day. Silky smooth, fitted my tempo and timing to perfection so I happily paid the extra cost and I won't be replacing that driver any time soon.
The longest hitter I have seen in amateur golf plays a Fujikura vista pro 80 shaft s flex . I watched Justin Thomas hit driver at a hole where the boy had carried a 3 wood further than where that finished. It's what feels good and allows you to smash it as hard as you like . Most upgrade shafts are straighter but sacrifice distance .
Found a brand new UST LIN-Q GUNMETAL on Marketplace for $90 AUD. Cost around $130 once adapter fitted. Put it in my Epic Speed and definitely improved feel, dispersion and length. I was even more impressed when I saw that the shaft was being sold at a large retailer for $550 AUD when they were in stock.
Very Nerdy… loved it Maybe next video you can dispel the myth of Puring shafts especially when with adapters we all tweak loft & lies. Maybe the droop effect is a moot point. Best regars A Golf Nerd. 😀
Used to buy used shafts online before getting fitted. Fitted shafts gets me the most optimal performance way better than using non fitted big brand shafts.
OK, this video begs the question: where to start?! With all the companies making shafts and each with different lines and properties, where would I even start to look at which might be worth trying out?
Work out what the shaft you already have is supposed to do, and then buy the extreme end of difference and buy that. If that doesn't work go extreme in the opposite direction, then start to work the gaps in the direction that worked.
If you want to try the stiff boardy feel on a budget buy an original Adila NV green ( the all green version). Cheap second hand or cheapish if you can find one new.
Well posers can’t show them off when they’re always kept in the bag off show😂😂 It’s like changing your car wheels….. might look hot but typically performance is crap😂😂

Your opening statement had me in stitches, lol. I'm relating...probably why I'm a big fan of your channel!

Love your channel mate. I love buying stuff, trying it and if it doesn’t work sell it on. 👍🏻

8 shafts sat in my garage. Probably not worth peanuts, and such a pain to ship. I just keep buying new adapters & putting them on my latest driver 🤪

I am amazed at how little it really mattered. Its whether or not the extra money gives you the extra confidence to hit a good drive.

Great vid, proves there is something out there which is premium, yet still cheap enough to experiment with 👏👏
Vice gloves are the best I have ever tried, worth every penny and last sooooo long too!
Great video Simon, it would be great to test 3 after market shafts against 3 stock shafts
I have quite the collection of big dollar shafts for my Titleist, some work some dont!
Very Nerdy… loved it

I tried a lighter shaft autoflex. Wow. Club head speed through the roof.
My ping Alta 35 gram gets me autoflex numbers. Alta was $55 while the autoflex is over $750
Alta distanza?
@@Jack-xy4fy Alta quick
The "BF" in the diamana shaft actually stands for "Blue Force", the B isn't for boron.
Isn't the stock Ventus shaft on the TM Sim driver a TM only product that Fujikura makes for TM and isn't as good as the Velo core or Velo core+ shaft?
Correct. The Velo-Core is an upgraded Ventus.
$12 Apollo steel driver shaft. Laser.
I've got the Accra TZ6 m4 stiff in my Ping G430 10k, I seriously doubt that the "upgrade" was worth it.
Don't forget that their is a huge counterfeit shaft market so BUYER BEWARE....
Nice video.
Nice to find a deal on na expensive Shaft then buy a driver head only cheap, put them together and make a few pennies
Because they do expensive mate

Problam is there loads of fake shafts out there and many can't tell the difference just looking at them
Don’t buy from eBay

Righto mate.
