Stafford has been my favorite QB ever since the fake spike against the Cowboys. I'm not even a Lions fan, but I remember watching that game when half the stadium left the game and he led the Lions to one of the most clutch games from a QB that I have ever seen.

Is it just me or is Stafford basically the most underrated and disrespected QB in NFL history?
Yeah, I think he's 8-1 with a 100 yard rusher. Pretty damn sad that he's only had 9 100 yard rushers in 10 years. Most of that offense had been quarterback play, and he had them in games they had no business competing in.

I'm a Vikings fan, but man I really like Matthew Stafford as a QB. He's incredibly quick when it comes to throwing the ball, and can dominate at the biggest moments in the game.

Not having Megatron's and Suh's giant contracts has given the Lions the opportunity to build a more well rounded roster.
+phillip nguyen They're trying to develop Golladay for that sort of role, but I'd argue having no true no. 1 receiver makes Stafford more effective, especially for the type of offense he's comfortable in; audible heavy and unpredictable. The only thing that's limiting Stafford's potential is A. the Lions' atrocious running game (which I predict significant improvement in, given not just the acquisition of Blount, but also a new offensive line coach), and B. when he tries to force dumb shit that he doesn't need to force (which will also aided by the run game improvements, when it's not just Stafford literally being the entire Lions offense).

Why don't you these types of shows on ESPN. Great stuff. This kind of analysis gives rise to great players like Stafford who have not been on winning teams but are truly among the best. Should be a great game.

Thank you so much. Finally someone who knows how good Matthew stafford is. I live in Michigan and we are so negative towards our teams stafford is the only reason we are any good. If MVP truly went to the Most Valuable Player for their team Stafford would win it every year.
Cover 3 exploded in popularity after the Legion of Boom won their Super Bowl, but all these teams that use it don't have near the Linebackers to be successful, the heart of the Legion of Boom isn't Sherm or Earl, it's Kam and Bobby Wagner, their speed and tackling ability keeps that defense alive, that's why that haven't been as successful since they lost Bruce Irvin, his speed was also a big key.

Peyton Cherry it's a mix, having supremely talented man to man cbs makes it a lot easier for their other supremely talented defensive backs to focus on rallying to shut down yac.
To me it's been Wagner and earl because earl takes away anything up the seams and Wagner is just an incredible tackler

That backwards off back foot pass he made should be attributed entirely to him having a baseball background. That is such a classic infielders move when turning a double play, or going with the ball while having to get it to the first basemen.
As a Lions fan, I must admit Lions wins do mostly come from 4th qtr. It's just not voodoo but team not giving up, fighting for the win and believing in themselves. Game is 4qtrs long for a reason, after 3 qtrs a lead is just a lead XD

With your mention of the game of attrition that Stafford played against the Giants, it actually got me thinking about a QB a lot of people have been talking about lately. I'm hopeful that at some point you might consider doing a film room video on Tony Romo? Specifically his maturation as a quarterback, because it's, in my opinion, one of the most perfect examples of development I've ever seen.
I understand that he's retired, but in my observation he went from a prototypical sandlot quarterback like Favre, and in his later years transitioned to something closer Peyton (queue the idiots screeching about playoff wins). I just think it's the perfect time to do it considering the buzz around what he's been able to do in the booth.

Great video! Every good qb can tear apart cover 3, the falcons know they're giving up underneath passes to rbs. Rbs coming out the back field is not impossible to stop, especially by fast linebackers like the falcons have. Theyll make adjustments and the falcons will dominate this game. Fakcons d is VERY underated
