- Here we try to show how to rake for blue swimmer crabs. Location: Thompsons Beach, South Australia.
The weather unfortunately wasn't working in our favour on this day and I AM SO SORRY ABOUT THE WIND... time for us to invest in a lapel microphone I think ;)
Hopefully this will help you to spot the holes that these guys make when hiding in the sand, we will upload a better video at a later stage once we can get out again with better weather.

Lucky you, we love ardrossan, if they made some sites pemenent we’d live their in a flash, happy hunting, raking or jetty netting.

I went crab fishing today and HOLY MOLY after we were walking for miles my shoe,sock was sooo sandy and my aching soo bad
Yes, I made the mistake of wearing waders on this occasion and they are so heavy to drag around all day whilst wading through the shallows... Any future trips have /will all be just a pair of boardies and really light aqua shoes 👍
The Fishing Guru also we caught 93 crabs with my family! I am not joking

Hi Dan, last time I went into the water @Thompson beach with my naked feet being X~X.. Are there still any blue swimmers remaining at that time?
Hey Bin, yes they are still around currently.
I wore the waders on this occasion however this was a mistake as they are very heavy to drag around in the shallow water... Normally I would wear some neoprene shoes but couldn't find them on this day
Thank you for the video! I never been to Thompson beach and want to go. Wondering if there is a preferable time of the day for crabbing? Like when it’s low tide or it’s evening something?
And is it a good idea to wear slides? Thank you!
Slides? I can tell you now that anything is better than those big heavy waders I had on 😂😂
Low tide is when you want to hit them up. Or an incoming one 😉

Where do i buy this rake online?
Hi there. The biggest issue with buying this item online is that the handle is quite long, creating some postage challenges.
I believe that stores such as BCF and Anaconda offer shipping options and these crab rakes are available for purchase via both of their websites :)
