For such divinely traits - they are still being remembered by the people and held in very high esteem ! Someone of the caliber and brilliance of Lord Gautama Budha and Swami Vivekanandji is born only once in centuries ! How right was someone in his assessment in saying - "Respect has to be earned ; not commanded !"
"Like me or hate me - both are in my favour ! If you like me - I am in your heart ! If you hate me, I am in your mind !" - Swami Vivekananda. . It's a stark reality ! Truth hurts and hurts very deep, indeed ! Infact a truth is always a truth and will remain a truth forever - irrespective of whether someone will like it or not - or - may it taste unpalatable to someone ! No one can cover it up for long - however hard and long one may try ! It comes out into the open on its own ! How right the great Lao Tzu in his assessment in saying - "The truth is not always beautiful nor beautiful words the truth !"
The metaphoric question about the bowl of nectar and how we would prefer to relate to it (from the edge or jumping right in) stuck with me. The questions that arose for me in response to this video relate to my status as a mother with sole responsibility, my effort to integrate expanded consciousness (if not transcendence) into more moments of my life, and the relationship between Brahman and the Tao, with me feeling that the concept of Tao is easier to apply in my life circumstance not as a monk but a mother. Anyway, my questions landed in this realm and were answered by Swami's lecture on the Divinity Within. Thank you.

The relation of the Hindu scriptures to our daily lives and the world around us is something many (even many from traditional Hindu families) struggle to establish. These lectures by the learned scholar are really useful. What is rather inaccessible given the cultural practices which are often described in response to religious questions, it comes across directly via such talks. To say the least, we are all grateful. Swami Sarvapriyananda has provided a very big assistance. And yes, as an aside for those who keep listening to this popular scholar, he mentions his actual name (first name) in this talk :) .
