If you give a business your email add the business's name after the +. So if you receive an email that's not what it's supposed to be, you'll know that they're selling your email.
You can add the + when you go to send an email. There is not setup to do at all. If my email was chelsey@gmail.com then I could send an email to chelsey+support@gmail.com and it will arrive in my inbox for chelsey@gmail.com. Test it out for yourself!
