love the feel, love the whole sound, lead singer's vocals reminds me of Deborah Harry. sad, that so many female bands are ignored/underrated. I just came across The Luv'd ones by sheer chance. Great sound, great band !
From my home town of Niles Michigan.. The Luv'd Ones should be more known. People in Niles don't even know their story. Trying to change that. I work with Char and Chris' brother and nephews. All great musicians also. Char was a game changer as the whole band was tho..
Superb. Such talented women. This is my favourite track on Girls In The Garage (but play it on vinyl). I play it as loudly as possible and pogo away in my front room...outasight!
Im game. Since i am 58 i love any form of 60's music. I am from northeast ohio and we had our share of great music in that time. These chics are from niles michigan.
I just heard this song for the first time on Little Stevie's Underground Garage, Sirius Radio. These girls were way before my time, but I loved the song. I did a look up on the band and both sisters passed away when they were 54 years old. I just had my dad listen to them, but he was only 9 years old when they're band broke up, but he said if they had came out in the 80's they would have made it big. The 60's he said was a male dominated music environment and very hard for bands like this to break out.
This was one of several tracks on "Girls In The Garage" that I was really impressed with. Ace of Cups could play rings around the rest of them, not to mention hold their own with most anyone.
Get Miserio, It transforms Mono to Stereo , This band would sound so much better in stereo. All of the stuff is in mono, I am guessing there were never stereo versions recorded, which was kind of odd by 1966.
Char Vinnedge was one rocking chick. Such a shame she never had the recognition she deserved
agree
Didn't you just give it to her?

A year before I was born. They truly rocks.

Tell us all about them!

My name is John Stoner. I was the Luv'd Ones road manager for 1966. The girls were always fantastic.

Luv that low fuuzzed up guitar! Tasty track!
Wow! You can hear the inspiration the "Go-Go''s" must have taken from them! I kept waiting for them to launch into "Our Lips are Sealed!"
That low fuzzy guitar tone sounds fantastic!
i love char's guitar tone in this
Way ahead of their time.

A phenomenal track. I can taste the acid.
awesome girl garage and one of my fave such 45s when I deejay - beautiful femme fuzz!

Chars' vocals on this song remind me of Donita Sparks from L7
Yeah, first thought was an early incarnation of a Debbie Harry group! Great, groovy song.
Nice,💎👁️
sounds a bit like debbie harry
how cool is that!
Should have been on the Rhino Nuggets Box.
Great job with the videos, they're good. Where did you find the photographs ?
Patty Smith
These girls had good taste- notice they're playing mostly period Gibson guitars....
it's good.
How it's done.
music history is so rigged to ignore music like this while motown and nyc girls groups get promoted as the only thing that existed in the 1960s.
Well it is up to all of us to change that !
Back in the sixties music was regional. They weren't. Discovered
You can tell this influenced the Go Gos.
Something like "The Feminine Complex". Very good!
: )
not even close

A ripper.
Great group! Another ignored 60s girl band... As tallented as Fanny..., just different styles; The Luv'd were garage while Fanny was heavy.
Blondie might have been influenced by Char...
Caroline Charles What?Their singles weren't release until the '90s...ummm?
