This is great. It's amazing what we can do. I am glad you said not to be ashamed if you need help getting food; it encourages me to donate to the local food bank or to world missions; there are people who need help, both locally and in other countries. We are all in this together!

You could make french toast with apple sauce or serve french tost with fried banana and sugar. If money it tight make it fancy. ;) ( I am a big fan of porrige or overnight oats for breakfast) If you buy rice instead of noodles I see the possibility of improvising an asian dish with veggies and peanutsauce on rice. If there is something like milk in the house you can do ricepudding. (If ricepudding seems boring add Cacao for chocolatgoodnees) If you add an egg and backe the ricepudding you can do a sweet casserole. Thats all I can come up with.

One head of lettuce makes 4 good sized salads.add cheese, lunch meat, hard boiled eggs, olives,if we have it,onion and peppers.bell,or banana pepper.quick,easy,filling,healthy,cheap.or rice.we always have rice.

I've now made the tuna patty recipe twice! (In fact I ate one for lunch!) I live alone so I get 2 meals from it. Also, besides being economical, it's few in calories, which I count! I use no stick spray in my frying pan to brown them and each patty is only 150 calories! I'm so glad you shared that with us. They are so tasty! I recommend others to try them! Thanks Emmy! 🙂❤

The “lentils & rice casserole “ from The Tightwad Gazette is .30-.50 a serving. Dollar Tree: brown rice 2lbs for $1.00, (2) lentils 1lb $1.00, Italian Seasoning $1, Minced Onion $1, Minced Garlic $1. There is enough here to make more 6 recipes plus have leftover rice (1/2lb) and seasonings. The recipe serves 4. Sprinkle with a few ounces of cheese and the .25 a serving is .35-.40 per serving. Add 1lb of carrots for .125 cent more per serving to total .50 cents per serving. This recipe is so yummy.

    Greetings from Canada 🇨🇦 🍁
A little water added to your beaten eggs for your veggie omelet will make them more
    Voluminous and fluffy.
Cooking that omelet on a lower heat with a lid on until it’s firmer will allow you to flip it easier.
Great budget advice along with very pretty meal presentations.
    Well done 👍

I live in the midwest. It is crazy how the Aldi prices vary so much from region to region. Some of your Aldi prices are lower and others higher than ours. It is important when eating "cheap" to strive for healthy and not too much processed or health can start to decline be eat having a stomach ache, weight gain, type 2 diabetes etc.

Good job Emmi! I was trying to figure out what I could buy for $10 that would make 4 meals. I live in Hawaii and everything costs an arm and a leg. I would probably have to buy ramen and spam for sure and maybe Vienna sausage, rice and a generic canned vegetable or pork and beans. Most people eat rice, spam, Vienna sausage and ramen when times are hard.

No wonder peanut butter and banana sandwiches were such a big part of my life growing up. I have found very few people have ever tried that treat, and nice to see a New York lady showing it to her subscribers. I do salmon much like your tuna dish, except mixed with cornmeal and is delish. You are so great to help others learn frugal tricks, because so many in our society were never taught any of this.

My son would not eat tuna when he was young but I would make "meat patties" with tuna, egg and flour and he loved them diped in ketchup

This is great! I like your frugal meal ideas. My only suggestion is you include the price of the butter/oil you use because they can be pricey. Do you have any meal plans that are larger portions? My hubs would eat a lot more.
