Guelph to Goderich Trail Ride (G2G) In a Day - With River Crossing!

After some light planning and barely thinking it through, we embarked on the full passage of the Guelph to Goderich trail by bicycle.

The trail cuts across southern Ontario farmland and is very scenic - if you like corn. Most the trail is a decommissioned rail line that's been beautifully converted to a crushed stone pathway. It has no real hills, which was wonderful. With the several detours required, the advertised 125 km turned into 141 km. We avoided an additional 15 km by forging the Maitland river with our bikes hoisted on our backs - dramatic!
Lunch at Anna Mae's in Millbank and beers at Cowbell in Blyth. We were certainly not going to set any records that day.
Weather was a steamy 34C and 38C with humidex. It was toasty!

That's funny, you're the first person to ask that 😂
We had no idea what to expect, I'd read some forums and watched some other videos. The official plan was that we'd ride back the next day. However the temperature was 35+ and we were absolutely destroyed when we arrived. We called for a rescue mission to drive us back after a night of beers and stories about the day 😅😂. I still call it a win haha
