The white sign with 933 means 933km from Sydney central station.
This bike ture, was a fantastic journey, and the scenery great. Well done 👍😉
Yeah, I loved this ride. Thanks for watching 👍👍
Nice Ride, Cool Scenery. I Liked The Koala Park Bench And The Orange Suv in The back Ground While You Were Having coffee.
That orange SUV was pretty cool! 👍👍
We rode this trail a couple of months ago, a sunny day but cold in the shade and tunnel. We left from Mooball where we hired e-bikes from Northern Rivers Bike hire as they were much cheaper than the bike hire places in Murwillumbah.
Had a leisurely ride to Murwillimbah where we had lunch, then rode back stopping at Hosanna for a cold drink.
Very enjoyable. Interesting nostalgic track.
Nice one John, Beautiful country around there, wish they would get a move on and finish the whole trail. Its going to be brilliant when it goes right through.
Yeah, I'm sure I'll be too old to ride by the time they're done! LOL
The Bentley to Casino stage is supposed to be finished soon, so surely they should have the whole thing done within the next 5 or 10 years, especially with the numbers they have got on the first stage which are way higher than they expected. After your BVRT video, I went and did it and met a 73 year old going the other way (uphill) on a little folding bike from Ipswich to Hervey Bay to be there for the opening of the short rail trail they have done up there - so I reckon there is hope for us!
That sounds hopeful...I'll have to get myself a little folding bike soon too in a couple of years😂....
I see that the Northan River Rail trail is afflicted with the same chicane obsessed civil engineers that Logan has.
Great video! I once took the XPT train from Sydney to Brisbane, bit from Murwillumbah to Brisbane was on a bus. Apparently Mt Warning is closed to climbers at the moment, possibly perminantly.
It's permanent unless white people get enough voice to say get fucked.
Great Vid mate, mmm, pour over coffee in a nice field location, challenge accepted 😅
Just did another PO coffee shot today also.... did stage 1 of the Moreton Bay Cycleway (Redland Bay to Cleveland) with Cleveland lighthouse being my coffee spot. 👍
Great ride! I went on it in winter last year, absolutely stunning weather and scenery. I am not sure how they are gonna get the trail through Byron bay with the train still running there. Also that marker you mentioned at the beginning of the video, represents 933km from central station (so basically Sydney), pretty cool!
Thanks for clarifying the 933km sign, makes sense!
It appears Byron Shire continues to be the stick in the mud with its section unfortunately.
I've ridden the trail just a few days after it opened and it's excellent! Despite that, I enjoyed watching your excellent VLOG! Well done and thank you! Can I ask what Cube Bike you ride? It looks like an excellent Bike!
Thanks David. Much appreciated. My bike is a Cube Stereo 120 Pro 29 Mountain Bike.... it was my first dual suspension mtb that I bought in 2020, and it's still rock solid. Perfect for these kinds of trails and even urban riding that I do a lot of my videos on.
@@jelbuilderfilms Thank you! I ride a Focus Aventura which is an excellent Bike but my body is yearning for a dual suspension Bike!
@@davidwalter1528 I know the feeling. I was riding a hardtail for years, but once I made the change to a dual suspension, it was a real game changer for me. :)
Awesum Video mate, the Mrs and I are looking at doing this in the coming months. We can't wait. Oh also just letting you know unfortunately we can't walk up Mt Warning anymore, thanks to NSWPW closing it. But there is a petition going around to reopen it up. 🤙
That's great... you'll love NRRT!! Yes, absolutely crazy about Warning getting closed.... give it time I reckon.
@jelbuilderfilms Also looks like the Bethania to Yarrabillba Bike/Walking track is going ahead on the old train line as well, so living in Bethania myself, it should be a fun ride.
@shauntaylor6175 yeah, should be good once it's done. I've done a video on running that whole disused track across the various bridges etc from Bethania to Yarrabilba on this channel. Will be an invaluable piece of infrastructure when completed 👍
John this is an excellent video! It kept me engaged the entire time. You videography was fantastic. Random question have you ever done the Moreton Bay Cycle Way?
Thanks... I appreciate that. Funny you should mention Moreton Bay Cycle Way.... that's tomorrow's adventure for me. I'm starting at the trailhead at Redland Bay and will see how far I get. Maybe to Redcliff, we'll see. :)
@@jelbuilderfilms say have you ever done any bike packing?
@breathedeepandseekadventur7302 just an overnight one when I did the BVRT last year. I'd have to buy some pannier bags if I was to do some multi day rides. I have been thinking about it.
Awesome, I'm not sure if it is a part of the Moreton Bay Cycle Way but there is a massive bike path that goes from Bancroft park in deception bay and goes for several kms back towards Brisbane.
It travels along the coast and is a lovely ride
@@breathedeepandseekadventur7302 yeah, I just passed Bancroft Park the other day riding from Brighton up to Bribie Island for the MBC. That park is on a great stretch of the bay!
This was a lot of fun to watch - if I'm ever over in Oz, I'll have to check it out! I was surprised that you didn't say anything to any of the other riders on the trail - is it not the culture to give a heads up?
Thanks.... I'm only showing short snippets of my journey and I greet a lot of people. We are a friendly bunch here, but you gotta remember - there's always a lot of people wherever I ride, and after a while you simply want to focus on riding, not greeting every person you pass.
Thanks for making this video, really enjoyed it. It is a ride I want to do. Haven't gravel experience. Tyre choice, I have 38mm Specialized Pathfinders, will these be OK?
I only ride mountain bikes, which have 2.6inch or 66mm tires. But I'd think that 38mm should work fine as a gravel wheel. It's all compacted pathways so the terrain is actually great to ride.
Mooball, vwhere cows go to dance lol

Great presentation John, do you use a gopro?
This is a trail I know well, only cycled it once but walked it often - even while it was being built. That longer tunnel at Burringbah has micro bats and glow worms ... easy to spot if there isn't much noise or lights. Thanks
Thanks! Yes, I just used a GoPro 10 to film this video. I loved that tunnel, was such a highlight for me on this trail.
@@jelbuilderfilms yes that tunnel keeps pulling me back ... I bought a gopro 10, just got to work out how to use it!
@@jelbuilderfilmsdoes the GoPro work best on your helmet or chest strap?
@@cyclemad-e Personally, I prefer the chest mount for the GoPro, only because I like the look of the handlebars and my hands out front. It's a personal preference thing, but I can more easily check it's viewing angle rather than hoping for the best on the helmet. When on the helmet, it's got it's pros I guess but for me too much movement looking all around the place.
I personally find this trail nicer than the BVRT.
Awesome video. I recently discovered that this track exists. I am in SEQ ( Ormiston ) and am keen to try this on one of my bikes.
I have a commuter bike with fast rolling street tires and a trail hardtail mtn bike with some chunky slow rolling trail tyres.
May I please ask, how much of the trail is gravel. Could I use my commuter bike for this track, or just bring my hardtail and persevere with the slower rolling offroad tires?
Thanks.... Only the first 2kms is bitumen, and then it's hard-compacted gravel/dirt for the rest. I used my 29inch Mtb that has chunky Mtb trail tyres as that's what I ride with everywhere... I'm used to it. A lot of riders use their roadbikes that are fitted with gravel tyres for these types of rail trails, but I prefer my Mtb. With your commuter bike, you'll have to determine whether it's capable of riding adequately on dirt terrain, and that you're happy with how it handles, and if so, then it'll be absolutely fine for this trail. Hope that helps 👍
@@jelbuilderfilmscheers for the speedy reply.. looks like im taking my hardtail.🤙
Unfortunately, it's looking like Byron Shire won't complete its section.
i hope that "stealth camping with a pram" wasnt a family doing it tough :(
Nah, it was just some crap tent and pram that someone decided to leave like trash on the trail. I did have a closer look, and it's been there a while.
No climbing Mt Warning any more mate. Yet another fun thing banned because of a noisy minority and their woke backers.
I'm sure climbers still do stealth hiking up to the peak 😉
@@jelbuilderfilms Possibly, but I know that NSW National Parks and Wildlife employ security guards to stand around to stop anyone who might try. Totally ridiculous situation.
@@wozm9924 an American camped on the top and got killed by lightening.
It's not a safe summit.
