Fixing to do this myself and my only question is.....would removing the radiator make the job easier? Getting the cover off and checking the exhaust side??
For getting the cover off yes. But then you stuck having to refill the radiator or have it hanging and risk damaging it with how soft they are. Add a little over an hour more to the job doing it that way. I have another vid doing it on my r6 and Zx6r both times I didn’t move the radiator either. But this gsxr was definitely a tighter fit
what is the suitable mileage to making valve clearance? i have a GSX R150,, according to the manual, suzuki claim at 8000 km. Should i follow this or not? However, my GSX used on weekend only
8000 is just a check up/measure if you feel inclined too. Most Japanese bikes can normally go double the mileage and only be slightly out of spec… but if your only riding on the weekend I wouldn’t worry about it at all. Me and my buddies track these machines so they’re constantly at redline
im still learning about these bike, i know that suzuki engine can perform very well. thanks bro, you are professional man, you deserve that. Do you mean suzuki's engine running well on redline?
Why mark the cam chain and sprockets? To maintain timing? Do you need to be at TDC to check valve clearance? I have my K8 600 taken apart to put a new swinging arm and forks on, figured I'd do valves too.
Yes there’s a few tdc positions that you’ll need to crank the motor between when check different sections/cam lobes As for the paint markings it’s just a quick reference when I was showing my buddy how to do it. I still walked him through actually checking a few other things to make sure everything lined up perfect in terms of timing
Yes and no. Most bikes will be fine even with hard use. In this case the bikes can chain got a little loud so went ahead and did the valves and replaced the Cam chain tensioner now it sound normal when it’s cold 27,000 miles. They were checked at 15-17k and were fine. This time they were a little out of spec

What’s the size of the valves shims?
7.48 kits
Which engine is more durable on track yamaha or Suzuki??
Hard to say both the Suzuki motor and r1 motor on this channel have over 25k miles with a good chunk of them being at the track in an advanced pace
Do all 2017+ gsxr 1000 sound lumpy at idle?
The ones I’ve been around have so I’d imagine that’s the case
Do you have a link for the shim kit used?
Sorry man I don’t, this was my boys bike that I was showing/helping him with. Amazon - hot cams kit

Thank you for that compliment.
Yes on the track we run the motor higher in the rpm’s causing more wear and tear
welcome

Do you really need to do a valve adjustment?
Yes and no. Most bikes will be fine even with hard use. How mny shim you swap?
All the exhaust ones and the intake side only 2. Most we’re close to spec or we moved around. Which is typically the case
is your radiator oem?
No it’s a refurbished or eBay one. The oem one cracked after a few crashes from the radiator guard caving in
