Sir Keir Starmer launches a Labour manifesto with no surprises

- Sir Keir Starmer has unveiled what he says is a long-term fully-costed plan to deliver change. After a brief heckling by a climate protester, he declared that Labour's number one priority is wealth creation.
But there were no new announcements in the manifesto.
He reiterated his commitment not to raise income tax, national insurance or VAT and pledged 1.5 million more homes, extra teachers and the scrapping of the Rwanda scheme.

@@unendingquandary The impact of the legislation likely won't be seen for many years, so don't say it was hugely successful. This, at least, according to most sources you might find.
@danielvelarde6611 I do think the ironic thing about it is that the legislation doesn't actually do much to effect inflation at all. But yeah, most major budget reconciliation bills take a long time to take effect.

@@mwd331you see the last time the labour party was in they had a party themselves spending all the countries money and selling off all the gold reserves to keep up the spending. So much so they were kind enough to leave a note for the new tory government telling them they had spent all the money 😂 fantastic what a party. Then came the Tory spending cuts to try and fix the mess left by labour (which labour spent complaining about) then came covid. At this point the Tories started throwing money about like they had a forest full of money trees out the back of downing street. Most people were getting money for free meanwhile the Tories were busy behind the scenes steeling as much as they could for themselves and their mates. But don't worry they told us anyone who took money they were not entitled to would be tracked down. I guess it depends on what labour one is talking about😅. The electorate voted them out for a very good reason some years back. They still seem as much confused as how to put a simple salad on a plate.
‘Manchester City Council faces a £85m budget shortfall within the next three years, councillors have been warned.
A report to the council’s resources and governance scrutiny committee, produced by Manchester's deputy chief executive Carol Culley, assessed its financial position in light of the recent Budget and spending review. It estimates that Manchester will see a £4m shortfall in the 2022-23 financial year, rising to £64m in 2023-24 and £85m in 2024-25.’
hmmmm, seems legit !!! 😂
London Mayor may be a lettuce leaf short of a sandwich if she thinks the typical resident in London can afford a new car even with discounts. .
If we take this the way Khan seems to clean stuff, perhaps every county in the country sets a charge which would mean the charge to get from London to Cornwall would go by about 5 counties that charge 5 to 10 pounds a day which equates to around 60 quid just to jet out of London. I am all for that ,the return trip would be the same so it adds around 120 quid to ones trip under labour. Are they sympathetic to London , I am not sure they are to be honest, and the obviously have little idea how it plays out when the rest of the country decides that Khan Did the the correct thing, or perhaps not, and just thinks to themselves that many thought Hitler did the right thing.
I do not follow football much, but still have a bit of an idea that the Manchester council could just give up on what is obviously a poor attempt to run the local system as well as some guy that from another country manages to organize 11 guys to kick an inflated pig bladder around a bit of grass..

🔴🚫 Why You Shouldn’t Vote for Labour or Conservative - Choose Reform UK! 🚫🔴
Are you tired of the same old political games? Have Labour and Conservative parties let you down time and time again? It’s time for a real change. It’s time for Reform UK! Here’s why:
❌ Labour and Conservative: Two Sides of the Same Coin
For decades, these two parties have dominated our political landscape, but what have they really achieved? Endless promises, minimal action, and constant infighting. They’re more focused on power struggles than solving real issues.
💸 Economic Mismanagement
Labour’s reckless spending and Conservative’s austerity measures have left our economy in tatters. Small businesses are struggling, taxes are rising, and the cost of living is skyrocketing. Reform UK prioritizes smart economic policies to boost growth and reduce financial burdens on ordinary citizens.
🏠 Housing Crisis
Both parties have failed to address the housing crisis. We need affordable housing now, not empty promises. Reform UK has a clear, actionable plan to increase housing supply and make homes affordable for everyone.
🚨 Broken Immigration System
Our immigration system is chaotic. Labour’s open-door policy and Conservative’s broken promises have created a mess. Reform UK stands for controlled, fair immigration that benefits our society and economy, without compromising on security.
📉 Declining Public Services
NHS under strain, schools underfunded, and public transport in disarray. Neither Labour nor Conservative have delivered the improvements they promised. Reform UK is committed to revitalizing our public services, ensuring they are efficient and accessible to all.
🌍 Sovereignty and Independence
Labour wants to drag us back into the EU’s clutches, and the Conservatives have shown weak leadership in asserting our independence. Reform UK is the only party that will truly defend our sovereignty and ensure the Brexit promises are fully realized.
🔄 Real Reform, Real Change
Labour and Conservative have had their chance and failed. Reform UK offers fresh perspectives, innovative policies, and a genuine commitment to change. It’s time to break free from the old political duopoly and give a new, dynamic force the opportunity to lead.
✊ Your Vote Matters!
Don’t waste your vote on parties that have consistently let you down. Vote for a future where policies are driven by common sense, not political ideology. Vote for a party that puts YOU first. Vote Reform UK!
🔁 Share this post to spread the word! Together, we can make a difference.
