Have fun. I am sure you will love it. Let me know how your motor goes. Mine has already had to be replaced and I know of three others. Trying to find out how common this is.
Fantastic review. man. Really like your low-key presentation style, insights and details. Really helping me as I decide between these two. Still deciding but this really helps. Cheers mate - thanks for posting.
I got the Expert Kenevo just before Xmas 2019. I really wanted the bigger battery and slack head angle so that sort of made the decision for me. I do miss having 29er wheels but its been ok. I did a native track ride at the back of Te Aroha last week and was missing the 29er wheels a little bit. Track gets a bit steep in places with some small drops and I wasn't that sure about the smaller wheels. In the end the 27.5s were fine as that bike has that bigger slack angle.
I am 176cm tall and went with the large. It fits great. I have already dinged the rear rim and plan to put a cushcore in it. My next video should be which is faster downhill the levo or my zerode. Very interesting numbers.
Believe it or not I have already dented the back rim. I have thought the same about changing the rims. May try cushcore in the rear. Having SOOO much fun riding it though.
@@mycoolcar I am a big fan of the light bicycle.com rims. My Zerode rims having taken some abuse but not a mark and still perfectly true after 3 years of casing jumps.
@@bestdayevermtb2 First ride today at Mangamahoe in New Plymouth. You were right, I think I sprained my smile muscles!!! 61 yrs old and a lard ass but actually enjoyed the climbs. Down trail was awesome compared to the Trance 29er, much more planted and I swear I got some air on a jump!!
Levo is better in every way except for steep, fast downhill and extreme jumps: I mean the kind of ‘fast downhill’ you need years of riding (and broken bones) to get to. I wasn’t honest with myself regarding my skills so it was a costly lesson for me buying the Kenevo. Go out and try both before you buy, that’s how you’ll get your answer. Hope it helps. ✌️
Funny you should ask as my bike is currently in the shop. It is having its 2nd motor replacement. They have a belt that fails which seems a common fault. Specialized are good with warranties but it is annoying and you do worry about what happens if you are a long way from home. The only other thing is the rear wheel. Not really strong enough. Am looking at getting a new wheel set. Probably fine for some lighter riders but I ride my bikes hard.
Was this your first ebike? I have a 2018 Focus jam2 and it was is my first ebike. I learned a lot with it. I think a 2020 kenevo may be in my future but maybe in 2021. Sweet ride you got there! Ebikes are a lot of fun for sure!
I'd click like but it's on 69 right now so it'd be a shame to ruin that. I ride my kenevo comp out oropi and it's a monster truck up those hills, the downhills look so easy on camera compared to in person.
@@joegeiger4837 no worries. If you did get the comp it only comes with 500watt hour battery. I have been riding in Rotorua today. Used 700 and had to use the shuttle for one run.
Murray I am just back from WCRC doing a dig day. I then did 10 run in under two hours. It was MORE fun than my normal bike. It is all about having fun. I don't believe E bikes are for old men or people with heart problems. They are for people who like to go fast as much as possible. Give it a try.
I hear ya. And your properly leading the charge here. For me an e-bike is not a great fit with buddies on normal bikes, if ya like the fun of a friendly competitive group. Though I think the time is coming.
Good choice! Its just such an awesome bike you just start the motor and off you go after a few minutes you simply forget its an ebike its so fun to ride! I got the Same Model in XL! 700Wh with under 22kg is just so good and i really like the extra weight couse it just absorbes those small roots/rocks that much batter than my normal bike!
I feel very much the same. Loving riding it do far. I am possibly looking at organizing some social e bike rides in Auckland. Are you based on Auckland?
Just picked up the 2020 Kenevo Expert myself as I just don’t like the 29ers as much. Will take it out on it’s first run soon.
Have fun. I am sure you will love it. Let me know how your motor goes. Mine has already had to be replaced and I know of three others. Trying to find out how common this is.
Really useful video, best one I’ve seen comparing the two. I’ve ordered the turbo levo comp, haven’t gone for the carbon it was just too much for me.
Glad you liked the video. I am sure you will love the bike.

Thanks for that. I enjoy the Levo but I would say the wheels well the rear wheel is not really as robust as I would like.
I bought a Levo hardtail 2 months ago - and I am loviing it..............
Awesome. You will have lots of fun.
Probably the decision I'd go for.

I think both bikes are great. We used to ride around on 26 inch wheels with skinny tires and steep head angles and still had fun.
Great video, very helpful! Do you mind telling us which size Levo you went for and what height you are?

You can always upgrade the wheels once you’ve dented them.

Best Day Ever MTB Specalized Roval rims seem to dent quite easily. If you go carbon, don’t get Santa Cruz wheels like the rest of Dads Army.
