Sync seems to be a complex topic. I think most don't know how to use it correctly. I know I certainly don't. Since it was "some of the best" and 24 hours gets revised to "a concern" seems to prove my first sentence.
pl-990 works better at CB band 27 mhz with the an-05 extend at about 3-4 meters long & connected to the 3.5m jack antenna...give it a go, i believe it will work way better for the s2200
That's another problem with Tecsun's business model... If they say ship this out with version 1.x software and then produce a version with say 1.1 version software without being able to update the current software, it leads to massive returns nightmare like with the 880.
@@audiophileman7047 It has firmware issues, and no way to change it. It is virtually deaf to frequencies above 23 Mhz. The sensitivity is not up to standard. It uses the silicon lab chipset, which is known to be cheap but has issues. You are better off with a 50 year old FRG7700, if you can find one. These are a selection of facts that make it get the 'crap' label from me.🧐
Thank you for your honesty Dan, we need more radio channel TH-camrs like you who state the truth rather than act like sponsored reviewers.
Thanks for the update Dan.
DSP = radio on a chip = cheap to produce = expensive for you and I to buy!
My Pl-680 runs rings around these DSP radios.
PL-680 is an awesome receiver, and it's really the perfect size.
Thanks to those who have commented -- but be aware, I will report anyone making harassing comments
Thanks for the review. I guess my problem with Tecsun's business model is they seem to always be competing against themselves with higher end radios.
Thanks for the video.
You bet

Thanks Dan... I was about to order the 2200x but it seems I'll keep waiting a few more months
That's the problem with chinese electronics manufacturing. The customer is the QC department.
Thanks Dan for the follow up.
Have a great day! 73!
P..S. Does the PL 880 have a firmware update also?
PL 880 has not had a firmware update in a long time to my knowledge
@@dxace1 Thanks because mine stopped working in the AM mode completely, and I hoped to reflash the unit….oh well.
@@dxace1 New ones still have 8820 which, I believe , is about 10 years old.

In spite of what some people say sbout it , I love the s2000 . Don't think I will be changing for the new version . Just wish it had rds though .
It’s difficult this radio as it’s in the territory of things like JRC…..
the FM lacking RDS is a big setback these days
Can they update the firmware on this?

To my knowledge no way to update firmware on 2200x. No microSD and no WIFI in it.
'Tecsun 2200x is crap' report that one Dan🤨
The comment could be an executive summary.
@@safirahmed I don't have the intellect to understand that, but it sounds good.😎
@@frankywatte5646 I meant that your comment has explained in a few words the judgement of the product.
I would like to hear exactly why you think the Tecsun S 2200x is "crap".
