This is a very good vid! Thanks for the instructions. I have an '08 Audi TT with the same problem and suspect it also is the switch. I'll pull the seat and verify all plugs are plugged and move into this diagnostic, but agree, I'll not jump anything! Replacing the switch will be easy compared to replacing the car!
Sweet diagnosis, 2005 jetta none of the motors work tested like you did even tried jumping motor directly and got no movement, was able to check voltage at the harness under seat rail and have 12v what do I look for next hard to believe all motors died at same time and switches seem to be working based on continuity test
Stranger things have happened bud, how many motors are there they’re not working? Anyway have you re-tried your testing with the power making sure that your connections were OK? And don’t forget sometimes continuity test aren’t as accurate as you assume them to be!
@@bigfootemobileauto9734 three motors none work I also checked the power in and out switch back probing if I remember, I also tried jumping motors directly nothing passenger seat work properly of course the seat died when it was slide all they way up so getting it out was a chore because front bolts were not accessible had to drill a hole into seat track to access bolt then I was able to make sure I had power at the main connector in the trough power all the way in and out if I remember. I removed the front to back motor and used my drill on the spline and was able to put the seat in the position where my daughter drives but I would like to fix it..is there a seat control module some where I have a partial schematic of the circuit. If I put 12 v directly to motor shouldn't it spin? Thanks in advance
Hi I can't find a mechanic in my country that could do this kind of sincere job, may i know what type of workshop does this type of job? Thank you for the informative video!
Hey, first of all great video man! I have this exact car and Its so difficult to find videos on it, so I can seriously appriciate this, how would I buy a new switch for my VW passat 2008, Im trying to sell it and I need to fix this seat ASAP, Thanks for the tips!!!
Question! does this seat can be powered in other car? meaning can i connect directly to a 12v circuit? (im installing in an old car that never had powered seat)
A Powerprobe would have been handy in that diagnosis but sometimes you gotta use what’s on hand. Thanks for the new video.

Nice !
This seat has a fuse ,do you know where that fuse is please?!
Love your content!! have a great ideal for a collab, maybe let's work or talk together?
Please get some back probe pins .
I thought the same thing Jim but those meter probes from the back of the harness probably weren’t damaging much!
Lol. I have other leads, but your right. They actually fit in there without hurting anything
