These prices reflect what I spend in a month living in France as a single woman without kids/dependents. It is also important to note that since I am technically on a tourist visa and not working in France, I am not obligated to pay taxes here, which would take up a significant portion of my income (~35-40%) if I were. These numbers are just my personal expenses and should just be used as a rough estimate!

Guys, it is not that expensive if you compare the cost of living in France in relation to the amount of money you make a month in the US.
But if you work in France, you will (usually) get a lower pay for the same job. (Im talking about qualified positions). So it won’t sound as cheap once you see your (monthly) pay check in Euros :p

Thanks Emmanuel! 😊 There are some English speakers in Nice, it’s a college town with lots of International students so most of the younger generation speaks English. Besides that, I was able to get by with just basic conversational level French and never had any issues! Hope that helps 🙂
I have had an apartment in Nice for 20 years absolutely love it we were there for ten days recently already plan two long trips next year. We also have an apartment in Paris which we visit. I live in Liverpool in the U.K. but they are our only destinations now we love them.
one reccomendition for your videos get a external mic, above you or a small to attach camera or to your clothes, sound is more realistic to you. but welcometo cote d azur, lived there 4 years and want ack :D

Thanks for watching! Finding work here in France can be a bit of a struggle, even for French people. But being able to speak English is definitely a huge benefit in job hunting here!

Hi what phone company charges only 25 euros a Month for calls to the States.
It’s good to know what you are paying for a new, furnished studio apartment. I wish you would have given more details about other studio apartments. I have no idea what they would rent for.
Depends what size you need and what area but generally between €700-850 for a studio or 900+ for a one bedroom
I pay this total amount per month here in memphis but it would be 1300 if it wasn't for my $300 per month car note.

Most Canadian major cities (Toronto/Vancouver) are victims of a real estate bubble. Rents are just crazy. I moved from Paris (same problem) to Montreal back in 2012. Montreal used to be the only rent affordable big city in Canada. But even Montreal is getting very expensive now. Still not as bad as Van or Toronto but getting there

I found it was pretty easy to make friends yes! There’s tons of expats and students here. FB groups will be your best friend in this case

@@WhereTianaTravels Like no joke i've been thinking about moving to France and getting dual citizenship for so long. I haven't been back since 2014 and I miss it so much but I was in Bordeaux (and Paris for like a weekend) which was very nice but I also want to visit Nice and Toulouse.

@@laprofekaren each place is different, it depends on the landlord if they want to rent to tourists or not. I'm not living here anymore and it's already been rented out by someone else haha but check the FB page, there's tons of places there and not many people are moving around this time of year so you'll find something easily with less competiton!

@@hayfalahraoui8361 I am certified to teach and I teach online so I don’t technically teach “in France”. I don’t legally have the right to teach in a school in France with my current visa but since the company I work for is online only it’s different

Can you find a part time job in France if you wanted to being and American Expat?.
it depends on the type of visa you're on! If you're on a student visa or a freelance entrepreneur visa than you have the right to work in France, but unfortunately on a tourist visa you're not legally allowed to work here. But it is common to find odd jobs here that'll pay you under the table in cash

Is Nice safe for single women? Years ago it wasnt a great area.
I found it to be pretty safe! I feel more safe there than I do in Paris. Of course I always stayed vigilant and avoided walking places alone at night, but there were a few times I had to walk 25 - 30 minutes back home at night and never had any issues. I’ll be posting a more in-depth video on Friday explaining the safety score, tips for staying safe, best/worst neighborhoods, etc! 😊

How come you don't pay for health care? Is it because you are taxed in France? Taxes are part of your monthly costs which you didn't mention.
I should clarify, I don’t pay a monthly fee for healthcare, but i do pay a small co-pay ($20-40) every time I visit the doctor’s which is partially reimbursed to me later.
Since I’m on a visa that doesn’t allow me to work in France, i’m not obligated to pay taxes here, so that’s not a part of my monthly expenses at the moment, but as a long-stay “tourist” in France I am still eligible to benefit from their healthcare system.

@@WhereTianaTravels I didn’t know that tourists could benefit from the advantages of our health system. So in the USA you would pay a fortune for health care but in France you take advantage of benefits gained by the French paying part o their salary. I can’t believe that you have health care but pay no taxes. What’s your opinion on this?
@@dpnice7721 well, considering I don’t work/make less than the eligible threshold, i’m not taxed. This is the same in every country. Once I begin working here in France, I will pay part of my salary to taxes just like everyone else 🙂
