Yes, stay serious, Freddy. I’m an old man with a clarinet jones but the bottom half of the body is working everyday.. Musician to musician, Freddy, this cajon thing is very impressive.
Thank you so much Sir, I consider this video is my starting groove guide for cajon. I am a tabla player [I hope you know tabla] and recently started laying cajon. Loved the way how you have formulated the grooves with formula. looking forward to more such grooves in your upcoming videos
I've been practicing every day for a week now by rewatching your video and playing along. In the beginning I'd get confused within the fist bar, but now I can play a couple without mistakes, even for beat #5 :-)
Great audio for such a wide open location...great job! Would be nice to see a similar video showing different techniques for fast rolls. I have seen people do them a few different ways L- Thumb and ring finger R- Thumb and ring finger L- Middle and index finger R- Middle and index finger L- Thumb and 4 fingers as one R- Thumb and 4 fingers as one just a suggestion
Hi! If you are left handed I suggest you to mirroring my hands. But, if you are right handed (like myself) I suggest you to invert the hands in relation to the video.
Does you theme song use a cajon? So far, I have two cajons. Right now, I’m trying a clarinet with a foot pedal playing a beat poet for clarinet grooves.
Hi! thanks for your suggestion, I will soon post a tutorial about that. You can also check that in the website cajonmaster.com where you can find a course exactly for that. thanks again
Hey thanks for this! These are grooves I’ve taught myself but to see them laid out like that really helped me internalize it. Keep on enriching us with lessons for this incredible instrument
I've been playing cajon for multiple years now after switching from drums. Being self taught I didn't know common technique, I play exclusively with right hand as bass and left as snare, using rudiments to create ghost notes on snare. Why's no one else play it this way?
Hi Noah, thanks for you comment. There is not a right or wrong way. If it feels good for you playing like that, great! I'm always trying to learn and practice different techniques and I highly suggest all my students to do so. This will for sure give you more options. Try it and let me know if it works for you, thanks again ;)
Hi Federica, I’m not using metronome for this video but I suggest you start at 60bpm or slower if 60 is too fast for you. If you integrate these grooves well in a slow tempo it will be easier to play faster after.
I am a long time drummer who is losing the use of my legs. These videos and my cajon has saved my life.
Thank you.
Hi Freddy! Thanks for you comment 🙏 So happy to know the videos are helping you. Let me know if you need anything 😉 cheers!
