I gotta say I'm going to miss my krootox. I think once I figure out how to stack their shooting buffs together, I can just methodically take important figures out. Sounds like you have to really make decisions about what is an important target this round

About Kroot Cut Skin and vicious duellist, it's a mortal wound when the opponent discard dice. Isn't it when the opponent have missed attacks ? They are discarded dice. It's not mentioned when you pary opponent dice.
My interpretion is maybe really dumb but don't dice always get discared after they are used? Like... after you have missed you discard that dice, but when you attack you also discard the dice after, no? Or is there a different wording for using dice up instead of "losing" them because you did not hit?
@@slemph2214 Always look at the step when this ability triggers. That's the reason combat/shooting is separated into several steps. It says "in the Roll Attack Dice step". All hits/parries happen in the "Resolve Successful Hits" step, therefore they aren't relevant to this ability.

Are we clear that the cut-skin's duellist ability is about talks about parries? It says for each dies your opponent discards (not each OF YOUR dice the opponent discards). Do regular old misses count as discarded?
The rules say "Each result that equals or beats their selected weapon’s Weapon Skill characteristic is a successful hit and is retained. Each that doesn't is a failed hit and is discarded." Thus I read the ability doing 1 MW for each of your opponents misses. Also it's in the roll attack dice step, so it doesn't affect parry.
Yup! someone else corrected me on this. It's for every miss they make, not parry you make :)
@@GlassHalfDead I guess that makes them particularly good at efficiently offing wounded models. You want to go after stuff with many attacks but bad to hit values.
I don't think that Piercing and Toxin Shots can be used for Pistoleer's abilities. They specifically require pistols to be selected, but these shots are considered separate ranged weapons that just have BS same as pistols.
I love this channel. Do they round up on the cannaaism? Otherwise, fractions are hard.

Question regarding the Dual Kroot Pistols of the pistolier and Piercing shot: at 15:05 in the video you state that these are compatible with Gunslinger Salvo.
However, while the pistolier can take Piercing Shot, RAW that does not give your weapon AP1, it just gives you a new ranged weapon with a statline that includes AP1. So while I believe that RAI it should just provide AP1 to whatever gun you put it in, RAW I don't think it works with Gunslinger salvo, as that specifies you have to shoot with the Dual Kroot Pistols. (Also, even if you shot normally you would lose Balanced and Lethal 5+ if you used Piercing shot.) Or is there a rule I have missed?

And no, you totally can take multiple Trophies. They even have a limitation that only one Trophy can be used per TP.

Do you think if we allowed to retain 3 saves in cover, would they be broken or just be A/S tier?

I think they would be a little bit broken. They could leave as it is and make it so they also get a bonus defense dice. In cover they would be 4 dice and can retain 2 as a normal save or 1 as a critical save. Considering that they have a 5+ save I don't think it would be too strong
It would lead to a really unbalanced situation of "Do they have No Cover? If yes, I lose, if no, I probably win" It's already close to that with the 2 retained saves, but that would just push it further.

I play Custodes. So, I only know how to win. Considering my squad does nothing but table my opponents by round two, I have no idea what “gather” is.
Strange, we don't see many Custodes winning tournaments 🤔
@@artificialkid9008 Custodes don't need the flaccid approval of tournament nerds. We leave that to meta chasers and losers. You know this. Think before you type, son.
Atm, they do get bodied by Intercession though in my experience. And I'm not sure they can win against Gellerpox? We'll see I guess. :)
