I love my fold 5. You rarely find people with a folding phone and it's cool.

I work in IT and have had the Z Fold 3 for 2 years. I find I use the front screen 80% of the time, the screen ratio makes typing on it difficult and inaccurate. It's annoying to use. More annoying, is unfolding the phone to use the bigger screen. It's difficult to get a grip on the unit and I'm having to make a very conscious effort to do so with both hands without fear of dropping the slipper fella to the floor. Using a case with pen holder makes this much easier but increases the already bulky unit.
I don't find I use the multi tasking screen splitting as much as I thought I would. Some of the standard apps open in two pains when the phone is opened, so its like having two skinny screens, which is.. say it again.. annoying. Yeah, is great for RDP sessions into a server as you get the full screen real estate, viewing photos or watching video (cropped top and bottom to get the 16 x 9 format). After 18months the protective film on the internal screen started to lift in the crease of the fold like more than a lot of Z Fold users have endured. Finding an after market replacement protective film that sticks, is a needle in a hay stack issue. Samsung won't back up their product flaw either in most cases.
My contract is up and I'll be moving back to standard format in the S24 Ultra. I really liked my Note 10 Plus back in the day.
gaming on the zold4 is hard to beat especially with forced full screen. sticking to mine!

I have a Z Fold 4 that I will be trading in for the S24 Ultra. The ZF4 has a stylus, but it is huge and I’ve quit using it because it so bulky and the phone is so much lighter without it. When I have the ZF4 open, I want to hold it in one hand and tap on the screen with the other, but it’s more weight than I want to hold it one hand. I think the external display on the ZF4 is worthless. It is tall and skinny and I hardly ever use it. I’m looking forward to having the built-in S-Pen and a smaller phone that is less bulky
Trust me the s24 ultra has a worse form factor, the rounded edges compared to the flat screen of the s24 Ultra is a huge win for the Fold. Also the stylus Pen isn't working as nice with a s24 ultra compared to a Fold
I'm in the same position as u are. I've pre-ordered the S24 Ultra with my ZF4 as a trade in. Once u get past the opening of the fold, it's pretty much not that practical. Im a truck driver and i have to keep taking my phone out of the bulky case to hold it up. I do really love watching hulu and all of that on it, but i too find myself one-handing the phone and it stresses my hand out. Then when it's closed, my big hands tend to double press every damn thing.
Completely agree, Fold is really cool but the external screen just killed it for me......almost impossible to type and would have to keep going back, editing 😢

I'm actually in Tmobile as I write this. I currently have the Galaxy Z Fold 4. I was enjoying it for a time, but there's just too many issues. My inside screen just suddenly stopped working too and mine is still new. So today I'm using my JUMP and getting the Galaxy S24 Ultra. I don't see why not. I'll return to the Fold series in a few years after they fix a lot of its major issues.
I too am trading my ZF4 in for the S24 Ultra. I agree with u on coming back later for them. I have some digital blemish on my screen. Sux
im in the same boat as well. My Jump upgrade became available this month and my Fold4 inner screen wouldn't respond to my touches. Would love to come back when these issues are refined!

I have a 1TB unlocked Z Fold 5 already, and I have a 1TB unlocked S24 Ultra on order. I will be able to do my own comparison between the two.
I wish the Z Fold 5 had a better S-Pen experience. Why can't you use it on the external display? Why can't it be housed inside the Z Fold like it is in the Ultra? Why does the Z Fold S-Pen seem to not work as well as the one on the Ultra?
I agree if they can add it to the ultra at the bottom left side they should be able to add ot when open bottom left making both the same when not folded an u can't even use pen on small outside screen on the fold 4 either... to me that would of been worth paying upfront but sadly not the point

I have the 14 pro max and s23 ultra. I had the zf4 for 24 hours before traing it back for the s23 ultra last year because of the battery. I do alot work for social media so im stuck between getting the s24 ultra and the zf5.
I've been in love with my z fold 4, also giving a try with S24 Ultra, which is showcasing with its awesomeness, but...my heart is still with z fold. It's just a versatile device that I believe can't be replaced ♾️

I miss my inner screen. Dragonball legends was god like! And rn the s24's keep crashing on that game. Other than that the ultra is so freaking good
It's hard to remain loyal to Samsung honestly. Having used Note 5, 7, 8, 9 and 10, the way it is going right now feels nothing like Samsung flagships. Sometimes i think they are just too aggressive on design like the unlock placement, kinda all over the place on each release.
Just like their curved display that used to be the "DNA" of Samsung and carry that X-factor back then, sadly now it's nowhere to be found anymore.
I think S24U doesn't really much edgy feels to it and it looks like piece of brick really. But, i still lke their software functionalities more than others; which truly defines what a 'smart' phone should be. But without identity, it feels like I'm buying different phone brand on each upgrade that's why i stopped at Note 10 and went to Asus ROG phone. I might be back into using Samsung one day but not with this one.
Until they find a solution for the screen protector lifting after about 6-12 months, I'm out. There is only one very bad Samsung Franchise Store around, insinting on changing the whole display, so I have to send it in every time for a few weeks. Once it even came back worse than before. Had a Fold 3 and 4 now for the last years, and I'm done for it at the moment, so I'm switching to the S24 Ultra. Gone miss my foldable really bad, but it's still just too much of a hassle for a phone with this pricetag.

Fold 5 doesnt let you adjust the resolution to my knowledge
They should have put the s pin in the hinge of the fold. Such a missed opportunity.
There’s no space, it would interfere with the fold. The screen goes towards the back of the hinge when folded

People... there's a thin flim on the screen that is replaceable and viola, no more crease
I will still choose the S Ultra over the Z Fold until :
- The middle crease on the screen totally gone.
- Larger front screen size, at least like the size of the Galaxy S Regular.
- Can play all games & watch all netflix and youtube full screen without black bar or cut out of some portions when zoom in.

@DemonsTech In the video, you said it was ip68, water and dust resistant. It is only ipx8 which is water resistant but not dust resistant.
