My 2nd day with the S24 Ultra I had an 8.5 hour marathon session of boredom sitting in a waiting room. By the time I left, having spent the full day surfing the web, social media, streaming TH-cam to bluetooth earbuds, etc ... I got as low as 8% remaining. Impressed the crap out of me, especially within the first 24 hours of ownership, where EVERY phone I've ever had experienced the worst battery life of ownership while launching all of my apps, signing in to everything, downloading updates, etc. I expected 5-6 hours of screen time before putting it away and twiddling my thumbs, but the darn thing got me through that full day without dying. Oh, and that was without wifi, just LTE data. It really is a fantastic device, and I expect that unless Samsung really does something to wow me with the S25 or S26 Ultras, I'll probably hold on to this for at least three years, maybe 4. Reigning champ in the house right now is my old OnePlus 3, coming up on 8 years, and no matter how many times I tell her to replace it or hand her something newer, my daughter just won't let the thing go. Me too, I lost my screen on my S9+ but played around with it so I got it to pop one last time to be able to download everything to my S24 Ultra. Thank goodness.
I switched from a broken inner display fold 4, to a tiranium violet 512gb s24ultra. Got is Jan 24th. Have been ABSOLUTELY STUNNED by how perfect this phone is, in every single way. After my HUGE dissapointment with the fold 4. My inner display cracked down the middle after 3 months...then i was stuck using the tiny outer display for over a year. So switching to this beast, feels EVEN CRAZIER becuase i went from that TINNNY cover screen as my constant screen gor so long. My handa are huge. So the huge screen has made my typing and viewing experience has been miraculous.
@Pretendentas Just had to pay 490$ for the "bring it back" fee. Because my device broke...I couldnt bring it back at the end of my contract. So they charged me 500$. The fold 4 was the WORST purchase ive made. SO expensive and the tech is NOT READY. My S24u is in PERFECT condition since day 1. My fold 4 was having problems getting dust in the display gap, and ide have to "blow" the dust out, for it to even open properly. Then that put a lot of stress on that inner display. So when i went to open it one day, and it CRACKED down the middle. Such bull. I ADORE samsung!! But folding phones have maybe JUUUST hit the point where theyre starting to be worth getting. Theyre not soo brittle, and actually have some resistance ratings now...but still. Im sticking with a regular candy bar phone, until I see a folding phone release that has a LARGE outer display. So i can use it EXACTLY like a normal smart phone...Then can open up into a tablet, when i want to have a bigger display. Aswell as having some GENUINE protection. I want it to not be a delicate item. I want to be able to feel confident using it, and not in constant fear of it breaking. That new tri folding phone....WOOW its INCREDIBLE as a gimmick...But after a few weeks. EVERYONE is freaking out, because the damn phone is falling apart!!! Its literally a TRI FOLDING DISPLAY!!! We still havent perfected the regular folding phone ffs...Let alone a TRI FOLDING PHONE. Ide literally ONLY use it at home, probably only while chilling in bed. So i KNOW im being as cautious as possible with it. If i had the opportunity to use one.
I moved to the S24U when it was released. I had the Fold Z 5 which I wasn't so keen on. The S24U has been a better experience all round over the FZ5 for me.
How long did you have the FZ5 and why weren't you keen on it? I skipped the S24U and patiently waiting for the F6, although I am skeptical about the F6 hype.
@@sentient94 I had an S23 Ultra up to when my contract expired in mid-October 23. I'd always liked the idea of a fold phone but when I bought it I was disappointed - mainly with the camera but I also found the front screen was way too small for my sausage-fingers. So I traded the FZ5 back to Samsung when the S24U was released and I don't regret the decision.
The best phone out there right now. No need to upgrade for a longggg time. Great 2 month review brother, thank you for your energy and all you do for the collective!
Definitely a solid phone! As someone who also used the S21 Ultra, S22 Ultra and S23 Ultra for a year each, I'll say that Samsung finally got the design right on the S24 Ultra. They finally went back to a flat screen and also tightened up the bezels and finally got rid of the large chin bezel on the bottom. I'm glad they were able to make the front facing camera hole smaller which is fairly noticeable. I use my phone outside under direct sunlight a fair amount so the brighter screen and much improved anti reflective Gorilla Armour is appreciated. Overall I've been quite happy with the improved performance and camera chops. My only real complaint, is that when I receive or make out going calls (when not connected to a Bluetooth speaker) the call volume automatically gets turned up to maximum volume.....and my ear drum pays the price. So to counter this, I have to be ready to turn down the volume on every phone call. Strange problem to have and I hope it gets sorted out. I've sent in some feedback on Samsung Members but haven't heard back yet. Also called support and let them know about it. Battery life has been pretty good but I wouldn't complain if the S25 Ultra had a bigger battery.
Moved from S22U to S24U. This phone literally flies through everything I throw at it. I can never seem to kill the battery and ending my day around 30-40% on adaptive setting. Animations are very smooth and yes the screen is a highlight. I can use the phone in bright sunlight and can still use my phone without struggling.
I've been using my s24 ultra since launch an absolutely love it no complaints battery life for me has been great as I'm on my phone a lot great two months review saf
Thank god they didn't change the design though, because it's so simple yet so good looking. And the last few years I've started to appreciate the move to not change the design too often, now you see it's a Samsung straight away, just as with iPhones, which I like.
I'm upgrading from the Galaxy Note 9 to the Galaxy S24 Ultra 😅 🎉 I really wanted the Fold 6 and have been waiting for years but it's not enough of innovation or improvement with the design, camera, battery & that damn crease 😔 I was going to go for Google Pixel Pro Fold 2 or OnePlus Open 2 they're release is over a year away and I've been suffering from charging issues for a couple years😮
5:48 I think you done a great job really rocking the MKBHD’s atoms more than any TH-camr I’ve seen. Marques should probably have you over to do a long term review on how it has held up and probably another collab between you two in 2024. How does that sound to you? And man you got a really clean set still!
Great informative video as usual! Thinking of making the switch from iPhone 15 pro max to s24 ultra. Also, just curious where to get that purple/blue wallpaper in the beginning? Thanks
Got it the day it came out coming from an iPhone 12 pro and first time back to android in like 10 years and I love my s24 ultra. Getting used to a bigger phone hasn't been bad at all. Overall love the phone with no complaints.
First, I gotta say, love your work man. But,I couldn't help but notice something while using my s24 ultra and after diving into some forums, there's this grainy display issue in dark mode that a lot users are facing. I'm surprised to see it's not getting much attention from the big tech reviewers like yourself as quite a common issue, also considering the hefty price tag users shouldn't be facing these sorta issues and samsung is just silent. Would love to hear your take on it man!
probably because he does not use dark mode, it seems. but i dont have the phone either so i dont know if its an actual issue or only some people or whatever
Bro I have both a 15 Pro and 24 Ultra from work, I’ve had the Ultra since launch and the scratch resistance is insane. Still haven’t applied a screen protector and there’s not a single scratch despite being everywhere with me and in some of the harshest conditions. I’ve always had screen protectors with every phone, got a glass one on my 15 Pro right now, but there is absolutely no reason to get one for the 24 Ultra besides maybe to stop it from smashing. Finally there’s a phone where you can enjoy the display the way it was meant to be enjoyed though.
The best all round smartphone in 2024. However I would appreciate a design change now with the S25 series, and I would like to see the return of curved glass front and back, even if it is an option.
My experience: 1. Traded-in my S21 Ultra and got $550 discount, plus promotional code, military program, and ended up with a $ 660 bill (taxes included) and I got the 512 GB, plus Buds 2 PRO, wallet case and screen protector. I'm very happy with my new phone and there's plenty of stuff to learn.
Thanks Saf for video! I really like these post-hype videos of actual user. These are so much more valuable to people who want to buy the phones later on
I almost switched from a 14 Pro Max to the S24U for the Gorilla Armor alone but i use iMessage/facetime too much with family & friends. Basically no one that i know uses Android phones. Zero. So im hoping Apple is able to work that anti-reflective magic.
Moved from the s23 ultra to this phone and the screen on the s24 ultra is definitely an improvement, first phone in years that I use without a screen protector.
Hey there! So, I switched to the S24 Ultra because I got a sweet deal. I traded in my S23 Ultra and ended up paying less than $500. Plus, they threw in a free pair of Galaxy Buds 2. The curved screen on the S23 Ultra was cool, but after dropping it twice face down on concrete in a parking lot and survived, I'm glad the S24 Ultra has a flat screen. It's more protective, you know? I have Samsung Care+, so I'm not too worried about damage. I still take good care of it, though, with a case and all. If it weren't for the great deal, I probably wouldn't have made the switch since they're both pretty similar. Oh, and the screen glare on the S24 Ultra is way better. It's really impressive how much they've reduced it.
Yeah this was eye opening to me. I bought my s24 ultra from hype around the 23U from the online deal right from samsung and it has the dull colors and grainy screen which my a71 doesn't have. Kinda disappointed none of the big tech youtubers are talking about it since the issue is everywhere
Excellent phone with lovely balance in hardware and software, I'm really enjoying many features within the One UI. Photo editing with AI is truly a game changer for me. Hopefully next year Samsung will step in to the variable aperture camera game and smash it out of the park! Thank you for the review Saf! 💯
Great phone, got on 23rd January. Everything is good except battery. Battery has been trash since day one and even after 2 major updates Samsung hasn't fixed. This phone also has severe camera lens switch and grainy display issue but thankfully only some units are affected by that. But Samsung has been completely silent on these issues which is a big dent on their goodwill
Same battery problem to me , idk maybe i use a lot, but my exceptions were higher, About camera dont like only the camera zoom switches , And at beginning lots of heat while using camera now i think is ok about heating
i have everything turned off gps sync nfc max 6 hours screen time s23 ultra had better battery life let's wait for the next update samsung should fix the battery soon
My battery life is all day until 12 at night laying down watching my phone. When I plug it in it's at 28% a lot of times. I still have not killed my battery. My buddies phone lasts all day as well, maybe it's the settings you have applied.

I like the rounded sides of the Ultra. I was turned away from the S24 and S24+ because of the generic iPhone look of the phones. The S24 ultra is unique and beautiful. User experience is basically the same on all Galaxy Devices, but I did want the 12GB Ram and I love the high resolution zoom cameras. The camera always impresses me on my Ultra.
Could you please confirm are u facing any display grain while.low brightness and gap between display and frame bottom right or left plz if u confirm it will help a lot as i am.facing the same issues and not only me a lots of.people.facing the same
The S24 Ultra is one of the most distinct and remarkable high end spec smartphones available today. Most competitors all look similar to each other (slate 'candy bar' with rounded edges), When you have an S24 Ultra, people know what you have and it provides among the most unique and distinct user experiences available today.
The only time I've noticed grain on the s24 ultra (and tab s9 for that matter) has been at or near minimum brightness, it hasn't been noticeable 95% of the time
my s24 ultra works well, not even a single grain i could find. so nah, maybe you just unlucky, factory fault. my screen works just fine and looks fantastic
Just like my s23 Ultra, it's amazing I tested that new dark glass and the non reflective display is amazing and the s24 ultra is also incredibly fast and smoother performance and animations
Yes! ❤I'm happy Samsung came back to FLAT screen display on their flagship premium phone!!! I returned my s22 ultra because of that one reason after a week and literally picked the s20-FE for the flat display and price at the time. When I saw they came back with the flat display I ran out and got this with my $800 trade in with AT&T. I'm using a $50 tempered glass protection and a $70 otterbox case to keep my phone safe 😊. I'm also enjoying the much better display, camera than my s20fe. I'm especially enjoying making 4k videos with this lovely device
Hello Saf, love your videos and have been watching your content for a while now and they are great. Ramadan Mubarak to you, let's get through this month inshallah.
Saf we need a new camera comparison between the s24 ultra and the iPhone 15 pro max, since the camera has improved since the updates and you don’t see many TH-camrs making comparison videos since the update

Ive sent mine back now for a first replacement. Curious of what it ll bring me. Noticed it at first after Ive read these posts, then thought it wouldnt bother me but it bothered me more and more.
I upgraded from the s22 ultra and it was definitly worth it, just in battery efficiency alone, not to mention the screen is much better. Anti glare thing is very real and very scratch resistant.@gallantsabre4322
I'm not a heavy user as some folks are, but I switched from the S21+ to the S24 Ultra, and my battery life is 2x better. I do live in Europe so the S21+ did have the Exynos chip.
@@you-5-iver804 which flagship phone have 6000mah ?? anything above 5000mah will only make the already heavy phone heavier . iphone with 4000mah is already a brick heavy
I still think that the OnePlus 12 is a better choice; it's cheaper, has better battery life and charging speeds, and it doesn't struggle to take pictures of motion like the S24 Ultra does. Most people don't use the S Pen or Dex, so even though tech tubers really play into those as strengths of Samsung, they don't matter to most people.
I think the S24 Ultra is cheaper in the long run because it's upgradeable for up to 7 years! Basically you can be with it for seven years without missing out on any software updates including all the 7 years Android! That's a cheaper deal in the long run. I for one will buy it in a year or two because I still use my 22 ultra.
@@BagumaJamesBabiiha99,99 % of people won't use this phone for more then 3-4 years. Let alone 7. And with Samsung and their software updates that cripple even last years model (I have some knowledge, been using their flagships for 7 years straight), do you really think this phone will work without any problem 7 years from now ? Don't fall for cheap marketing tricks
After update it's not work anymore. Didnt even pop out just vibration then i pressing it and nothink happens. I read reddit post, a lot people got same problem as mine
The truth is it's a great phone with lots of software problems. What's the HDR all about on netflix? Super dark and dull which is the opposite of what it should be. All the reviewer's either don't want to acknowledge the problem or don't even notice it. At least iPhones actually work
And having subtitles on while watching netflix and other videos causes issues with the refresh rate which makes streaming stutter. How many issues can one device have🤣
I recently upgraded from the Pixel 6 Pro to the S24U, and while there was a bit of an adjustment period, I am now thoroughly enjoying the new device. The pros far outweigh the cons, although there are two aspects that I find particularly frustrating. Firstly, the Pixel's AI feature for capturing unblurry images was truly remarkable, and I miss that capability. It was particularly useful when taking pictures of my energetic children, as it ensured that the end result was always clear and focused. Secondly, I am disappointed that Samsung chose to partner with Microsoft for gallery cloud backup instead of continuing their collaboration with Google on AI. I would have appreciated the option to choose my preferred cloud backup service. Both can be repaired with a simple OS update, I'm crossing my fingers that at least the first one will be granted
I really don't understand why big youtubers can't adress issues with phones. A lot of s24 ultra suffer from mura (grainy display) which is a defect with 3 horizontal lines, below 10% birghtness. Confirmed by dxomark, gsmarena, tomguide etc and Samsung ignores it. Also the 24, 50 and 200 mpx mode takes unusable pictures! The raw mode does still process the pictures and makes them unusable! The AI stuff is mostly a gimmick. Googles magic editor works way better and live translation is mostly translating gibberish.
I really enjoy this phone. Was a massive upgrade for my old outdated android. So much power in my pocket, with the dex mode being used a lot at home and work.

Same here with the trade in credit best phone !
I just got this phone today, so excited
Okay mr rich geeky kid
Sounds like something you can fix easily by setting up a routine for calls. Have you tried that?
Moved from S22U to S24U. This phone literally flies through everything I throw at it. I can never seem to kill the battery and ending my day around 30-40% on adaptive setting. Animations are very smooth and yes the screen is a highlight. I can use the phone in bright sunlight and can still use my phone without struggling.
I've been using my s24 ultra since launch an absolutely love it no complaints battery life for me has been great as I'm on my phone a lot great two months review saf
Planning on make the jump for an S10 to the S24 Ultra. Can't wait!
I fill that's my note 10 plus still do job: zero lag, good battery in general, good camera, 12GB RAM & 256GB... good screen
Yeah. I'm a power user from an office perspective and there's not a huge difference ... I just upgradee from a Note 10+.
I just order this device and cant wait to be delivered 😊
Greatest of all Android...Samsung is freaking good
One plus 12 is better
@@SWOTHDRAhaha no
Thank god they didn't change the design though, because it's so simple yet so good looking. And the last few years I've started to appreciate the move to not change the design too often, now you see it's a Samsung straight away, just as with iPhones, which I like.
Yea and non ultra s24 looks like cheaper phones
Thanks
Great start with updates!😂 good review, as usual. Thumbs up for SuperSaf!
Love the S24Ultra, I updated from the S22Ultra which was a great but this phone is awesome!
Is it worth upgrading? I have the S22 ultra currently
I've got the s22 ultra too, trying to decide.. s23 ultra is $300 Cheaper than the s24ultra
Yes, the dull colours offset me at first, but I got accustomed to it
I wanted to make it more vivid when i first got it. But then I saw this video and increased it and realised I actually preffered the less vivid mode.
Would love to hear your take on it man!
which one? i have s24 ultra but don't really know what do you mean.
probably because he does not use dark mode, it seems. but i dont have the phone either so i dont know if its an actual issue or only some people or whatever
@vanjadezelic732 it's only only dark mode, specifically in the gray colored parts on the screen
@@schwazernebe yeah, that may be it
So what do you think about S24U
Is it worth buying now?
Bro I have both a 15 Pro and 24 Ultra from work, I’ve had the Ultra since launch and the scratch resistance is insane. Still haven’t applied a screen protector and there’s not a single scratch despite being everywhere with me and in some of the harshest conditions. I’ve always had screen protectors with every phone, got a glass one on my 15 Pro right now, but there is absolutely no reason to get one for the 24 Ultra besides maybe to stop it from smashing. Finally there’s a phone where you can enjoy the display the way it was meant to be enjoyed though.
How is the camera and the performance?
The best all round smartphone in 2024.
However I would appreciate a design change now with the S25 series, and I would like to see the return of curved glass front and back, even if it is an option.
No thanks, it's taken long enough to get a nice flat panel again
Saf Awesome Video and definitely enjoyed. ✌️💯
I'm watching from the S21 ultra 5G. I will wait for the S25 Ultra 5G.😊
From S9 Plus to S24 ultra and loving it 😍
Excellent presentation and video! Concise, pros & cons, everything interested buyers need to know.
S Pen is crucial. And best feature of phone apart from camera. I make notes all the time on it and save it in folders if S Pen.
Moved from the s23 ultra to this phone and the screen on the s24 ultra is definitely an improvement, first phone in years that I use without a screen protector.
But 23u is alrdy good phone... dont u think its not worth trading for s24u?
And is not using screen protector is risky for pricey s24u ?
No comment on the grainy display issues a lot of people have? Did you notice anything while using the phone?
@SuperSaf...this
Yeah this was eye opening to me. I bought my s24 ultra from hype around the 23U from the online deal right from samsung and it has the dull colors and grainy screen which my a71 doesn't have.
Kinda disappointed none of the big tech youtubers are talking about it since the issue is everywhere
I don't have that issue. Screen is fantastic for me.
Mura effect....spoiled the S24ultra...lts no longer the KING of Android world...lts not free from flaws.
No. I think the display is amazing.
I sold my s23 ultra and i have 15 pro now. I miss android so much lol. For me android is way more practical in daily use
7:38 is that a ghost there 💀?
Same question bro....is that a ghost??
That ghost is there in his multiple precious videos which test zooming 😂
Crazy
Hehe
Have my s24 ultra for 2 months now. Nothing compares to this. Best phone there is
Excellent phone with lovely balance in hardware and software, I'm really enjoying many features within the One UI. Photo editing with AI is truly a game changer for me. Hopefully next year Samsung will step in to the variable aperture camera game and smash it out of the park! Thank you for the review Saf! 💯
Great review
Can i buy Google pixel 8 for camera?
No....if you focus on camera... You must go on a s 24 Ultra.... Sometimes it’s better than i phone 15 pro max..
Even the Pixel 8 pro..
I have it in titanium violet and I really like it.
Samsung forever baby. Oh yeahhhh. A great video brother. 😊
Could you please do a comparison between oneplus open and the fold 5? In terms of the usability and the camera?
Upgraded from s21 ultra and I'm totally digging it
Great phone, got on 23rd January.
Same battery problem to me , idk maybe i use a lot, but my exceptions were higher,
About camera dont like only the camera zoom switches ,
And at beginning lots of heat while using camera now i think is ok about heating
I got home magic 6 pro and s24 ultra honor is way better lasts a full day no matter what Samsung is a joke same with apple
i have everything turned off gps sync nfc max 6 hours screen time s23 ultra had better battery life let's wait for the next update samsung should fix the battery soon
Wipe cache after uppdates its 9-11h sot per day.. never charge 1 times 24h heavy use.
My battery life is all day until 12 at night laying down watching my phone. When I plug it in it's at 28% a lot of times. I still have not killed my battery. My buddies phone lasts all day as well, maybe it's the settings you have applied.
I went from a Samsung Galaxy Note8 to this monster of a phone. I was shooketh. By the weight of the phone lol. But especially by the photo quality O_O amazing O_O
I has my S24 Ultra for 2 months and this is the best phone I ever used. My previous phone was a S21+
6 top and new features in s24 ultra
1. Grainy display
2. Camera lens switching jittennes in videography
3. S23 ultra Camera performance is better than s24 ultra
4. S pen quality issue
5. Camera portrait mode issue
6. Heating issue
Baterry life
so I can buy a screen protector anti reflected for my s23 ultra, i will have an upgrade to s24 screen? haha
Could you please confirm are u facing any display grain while.low brightness and gap between display and frame bottom right or left plz if u confirm it will help a lot as i am.facing the same issues and not only me a lots of.people.facing the same
The put out a update for that a month ago. Go to display settings and you'll see a vivid option
@@brendanfogel4573 i know tjat i am talking about sandy screen or grainy display [dusty]
The S24 Ultra is one of the most distinct and remarkable high end spec smartphones available today. Most competitors all look similar to each other (slate 'candy bar' with rounded edges), When you have an S24 Ultra, people know what you have and it provides among the most unique and distinct user experiences available today.
I have the s23 ultra and I would like a small phone so the s24 sounds nice but is the display grain issue on the s24 aswell??
The only time I've noticed grain on the s24 ultra (and tab s9 for that matter) has been at or near minimum brightness, it hasn't been noticeable 95% of the time
my s24 ultra works well, not even a single grain i could find. so nah, maybe you just unlucky, factory fault. my screen works just fine and looks fantastic
No grain issues ?
LOVE the screenshot where you and iJustine tower over Marques!
😂
@SuperSaf is it worth upgrading from the s22 ultra ?
Just like my s23 Ultra, it's amazing I tested that new dark glass and the non reflective display is amazing and the s24 ultra is also incredibly fast and smoother performance and animations
Any note 20 ultra users still here?

Here I am. Battery low

Note 10 Plus here. Finally ordered the S24 Ultra, though. It'll be here Tuesday.

Did anyone notice a ghost on saf zooming at the building 😅
I love my S24 Ultra. No complaints. Best phone I've ever had

Nice review. My thing is the BLUETOOTH CODAC"S... How good is the sound on devices and in autombile stereos?
Saf we need a new camera comparison between the s24 ultra and the iPhone 15 pro max, since the camera has improved since the updates and you don’t see many TH-camrs making comparison videos since the update
No we don't CRAPPLE Sucks

I upgraded from the s22 ultra and it was definitly worth it, just in battery efficiency alone, not to mention the screen is much better. Anti glare thing is very real and very scratch resistant.@gallantsabre4322
Removing S Pen only if it trades for 3.5mm jack and Micro SD support.
Agree
micro sd support would reduce the performance of the phone i love that all are ditching that stupid feature

Hey what about one plus 12r is it good?
I think the S24 Ultra is cheaper in the long run because it's upgradeable for up to 7 years! Basically you can be with it for seven years without missing out on any software updates including all the 7 years Android! That's a cheaper deal in the long run.
I for one will buy it in a year or two because I still use my 22 ultra.
@@BagumaJamesBabiiha99,99 % of people won't use this phone for more then 3-4 years. Let alone 7. Got the s24 ultra on release and have loved every minute with it.
You can back up to Google Photos like any android phone
I used the s24 ultra for a week, then went back to the iPhone 15 Pro Max, great phone on paper, but for me personally the iPhone is still better
It all depends on what one prefers. As long as it's better for *you* , that's all that matters.
Salaam Saf, which camera/ phone do you use to record your footage for TH-cam?
Disappointment this year
I really don't understand why big youtubers can't adress issues with phones.
S23 ultra is better...
