@@TheMICMusicInspirationChannel I will stand corrected I haven't seen the movie in a while wikipedia says Rocky went into retirement for a while after the fight to repair eye damage and recuperate. With that I assumed the timeline went to 1979 hence the 79 model car.
@@craigfaircloth313 Well, he does "retire" for a few months because of his eye, but it all takes place in less than a year. Who knows - maybe Pontiac just offered to provide a new car so that they could have the advertising.

This series of Trans Am (in black) was an anachronism in _Rocky II._ The movie was set in 1976, but Rocky buys one of these.
Rocky 2 was made and set in 1979 as a sequel to Rocky. The car he had was a 1979 Black special edition non T - top Trans Am
