This is the final video covering the restoration of a 1979 Pontiac Trans Am by Area 52 Restorations in Troy, IL. I know that many of you have been waiting to see it's completion and that day has finally arrived. I'm really impressed with how the car turned out in the end. Personally, I think it might be the nicest Trans Am that I've seen. I hope you find it interesting as well. Thanks for watching and commenting!

This candy red TA is a sharp car . Love the color . I owned a 79 . Purchased the car new when I was 18 and wish I had today.
John McDonald lucky man ....
Same here, joined the army to get a new silver 79. Had the 403 though, didn't know at the time.
I can imagine!
They are my favorite cars .
I'm nine years late, but always on time to view

My mother bought a Berlinetta in 1979 brand new off of the showroom floor and on the way home to Semmes, Alabama about 10 miles from the dealership, it started smoking out of the tailpipe!
Well, she was upset, called the dealership back and decided on a brand new red Pontiac Firebird. 5 miles on it! She loved that car❗
I was 13 at the time and I remember her coming home(late) with the radio blasting❗lol. Hope you didn't mind my too long of a reply.
@@wisdomseeker3362 No, that's great. Your Mom had great taste in cars.

Thank you so much! 💜💦
Nice car. In Jan 1979, I was 22 years old, and I bought a new black on black 400, WS6 Trans Am. I had ordered a Z28 Camaro, and I waited almost four months, and it never arrived. So the sales guy told me they had a Firebird that was four speed with the T-top, which is what I had ordered on the Z28. I saw it, I drove it, and bought it, not knowing I got one of the last 400 Pontiac engines. I still have it. I recently got it restored and it looks like it did when I bought it one month shy of 42 years ago. Plan to keep it and eventually pass it on to my son.
That's awesome ❗
You should post a video for us . Wonderful sentiment to pass it on to your son.💓
Most beautiful if only a 4 speed manual. Thank you.
That gold bird and decals look damn good against that Candy paint color. My 79 is Atlantis blue and was special ordered with the gold bird and decals ( most have light blue birds) love the 79's. Great handling cars. Want attention drive a Trans am !👍
that thing is freakin' slick. love how they painted everything, too. keeps it very very show worthy.
I bought a new 1979 back in the day, Always love the car got rear ended in 1981 and totaled my baby. Your 79 is one of the most gorgeous Trans Am I have ever seen, You guys did a amazing job on it. Enjoy it, thanks for sharing.....
This car is a stunner. Love how they integrated all the gold pinstriping from a black SE on to this red car. Looks really great. It's giving me some ideas.... ;-)
I used to own a '79 Firebird Esprit Redbird... it only had a wimpy little 301, but it was a real head turner. I miss that car. I should never have gotten rid of it. This car, right here, is my dream car.
Back in 1980 I purchased a gold on gold t/a I always wanted to do the candy apple over the top but never did. That looks fabulous! Thanks for sharing this beauty.
Hi from Australia i love American cars and I reckon the Trans am is the best looking muscle car ever made
nice color combo, not one you see often,.......great restoration.
Wow that paint looks so good
A beautiful Trans Am...Same year I graduated high school..
I CAN SMELL THE PAINT WATCHING THIS VIDEO!!! AMAZING
Beautiful is an understatement....
pontiac never make it that nice , thumbs up. this deserve an award good work
! its a good thing to keep it original look , the bird need to be there otherwise it look like a plain firebird with air scoop ,these car been my dream car since i was 5 years old , ,, still today " at 38 i just cant get sick off it ,,, this one is a reel beaty !!!
I see ONE MAJOR FLAW with this car!!! ...it's not in my garage :(
Nice car, love the outside. Had a 80 with the Recaro option done in dove grey and burgundy, Always wanted to paint in Brandy-wine with crushed diamonds added to the paint. Saw a C3 Vette painted that way, when the sun hit by the sun it would leave you speechless. Treasure it man it is a Beauty.
thats the best looking Trans-Am I have ever seen; fantastic work fella's; maximum respect!
We had a period where these cars really weren't appreciated and I saw a lot of them falling on the wayside. It's good to see that some have survived. The original Camero/Trans Ams of that period had problems from the factory. A good restoration of one really makes it better than when if was original.
Best trans am i have ever seen hell of car thats gonna be winning alot of cars shows this year and that motor! thats a dream car
My FAVORITE cars of all time, had one back in high school. THIS ONE is by far the most gorgeous one I have ever seen.
Wow. I hope my Olds turns out half as nice! That color really pops on the computer screen, I can only imagine what it looks like in person!
It's Candy Brandywine (House of Kolor), sprayed over a Zenith Gold base.
What a insanely beautiful car
Really liked the little Montrose touch there "rock candy" Your my candy baby - Had a mint 1977 red trans am sold long ago - which now I wish I would have stored!!!
Thanks for checking it out, we appreciate it!
They definitely did a great job with it. Thanks for taking a look!

This Trans Am is one of the most beautiful cars I've ever seen! What a credit to Area 52 on a jaw-dropping restoration! I could stare at it all day. Wow...
The color is gorgeous! I have a 1979 Firebird.
that trans am is perfect.I love the candy paint.I was supprised to see a buick under the hood but I don't blame him those engines rule.
Thanks for checking it out...I've always been a big fan of the Trans Am too.
Thanks for taking a look. They were definitely happy with how it turned out.
Very clean Very nice, Good job 💯💫
Thanks for taking a look, we appreciate it!
Stunning example ,the colour really suits the car.
Im in the UK , in 1983 my Dad bought a 1980 Trans Am Special Edition in Black with tan interior. Its still on the road with a 6.6 - it came fitted with a 4.9.
Oh my god, they did a great job. Gorgeous car!!!.........WOW
Ohhh my Goodness man ... what a gorgeous Trans Am .... what a stunning colour ... I almost bought a 1994 F-150 FlareSide supercab once it was same colour outside with all red velour inside .... I do regret so much I didn’t bought it ... this colour is fabulous, and it also looks good with this combo as well wow
Beautiful car. Haven't seen interior this perfect anywhere. Not even out of the factory, great job. This car is worth a good chunk of change.
Thanks for taking a look!
Probably the best restored T/A I have seen. Looks just like it would have back in 79 on the dealer showroom floor.
STUNNING!
Jimmy basically exists on word of mouth advertising from previous customers. He doesn't spend money on advertising to get his name out there. Thanks for taking a look at the Trans Am, we appreciate it!
I'm glad you like it. Thanks for taking a look at it!
I have a red 1979 firebird is a base model that I am restoring I put a brand new chevy 350 in it try my best to restore this thing back to how this one looks. This is a beautiful firebird man. What an inspiration
Glad you like it....thanks for taking a look!
That's a GREAT COLOUR ON THAT T/A
Just gorgeous beautiful beautiful car I love how he left the stock stereo I hate seeing aftermarket radios throws the whole interior off in my opinion
I dunno... I had a 1979 Firebird with the exact same radio and it did NOT sound good. Then again, with a showroom quality automobile like this you might not be putting a lot of miles on it & it's all about looks
awesome, man. Absolutely GORGEOUS.
Awesome cars! Those were the days, and not to mention, cars done up nice like this one still turns heads, Great job!!
this is so far the only trans that meet my expectations! everythings on point, wish i had the extact car.
I'm in love with that car
Real Beauty Muscle Car - They don't build car like this anymore!
I'm glad you like it, thanks for checking it out. A lot of hours went into that car.
Thats a real , real nice car , lovely.
Super Wicked!!! Love The Paint!!!
Truly stunning.
That's a Beautiful Car, looks Awesome. The color is Magnificent, hopefully you'll get many years of happy driving with it. I had a Black 1977 Trans Am with a 6.6 litre engine and a Gold 1978 (with t-tops) and a 6.6 litre engine. They passed everything with the exception of a gas station. They were hot cars and from this video, they still are. :-) Enjoy the ride.
Once you've owned one or driven one you are hooked for as long as you live...the Trans Am is one of Baddest Boys on the road....it is so much fun and thrilling to drive.
Outstanding car!

I love TAs .... I own two show quality Trans Ams ; a 79 black Y84 400 4 speed t-tops , and a 73 455 white automatic and both steal the show wherever they go , even from exotic cars ....)
we used to have them in great numbers in Saudi Arabia back in 1970s and 1980s
I did have a mint red 1977 and a pretty nice 73 or 74 red 455 also - that baby could burn some rubber! Loved the T/A for sure!!!!
