I am a Clinical Psychologist with extensive experience in the use of clinical tests. Neither test indicates the name of the aggressor, so their statement about who attacked whom is deeply biased and unprofessional. This is unethical. She is accusing another whose identification is only based on the verbal report of one party.

For a therapist to dismiss the possibility that they have been manipulated by an individual with a personality disorder says alot about this psychologist. They teach us this in grad school that this is possible. It happens. But she is exhibiting hardheadedness...as though she can't admit to the possibility that she may have been manipulated. She truly seems prideful. Almost like she's on trial.
Professionals have two options when confronted with the fact that they may have been misled. Be a human and recognize that even the best of us can be duped or can ignore or miss signs (Bernie Madoff anyone?) or double down that you cannot possibly be wrong. The ones who double down would most likely score pretty high on a narcissist trait inventory because it means they take it personally and it’s a blow to their ego that they can’t take.
She has served as an expert witness for 500 individuals in domestic abuse cases, but she has not represented ONE SINGLE heterosexual male in a case where he was abused by a woman. When she SPEAKS of abuse, throughout her testimony, if you watch the whole thing, like I did, you'll see that she consistently describes victims as female, and abusers as male. This woman has incredible lack of objectivity and bias for a practicing psychologist. She clearly holds the subconscious bias that ONLY MEN commit abuse, and women are not capable of abuse against men. She took every single lie Amber told her and is now presenting it to the courtroom as factual evidence. In doing an "objective" evaluation, what she actually did was come to her own conclusion at the very beginning of her "evaluation", and then discarded any evidence she came across along the way that might disprove that conclusion. In addition, she never evaluated Depp. Never even spoke to him. Not once. This is all incredibly problematic. This woman is dangerous as an expert witness. She needs to be removed from any future cases where men's futures hang in the balance.
I totally agree, she completely destroyed any credibility she may have had as a practising professional when she admitted to formulating a diagnosis before administering the tests, disregarding any evidence she didn’t agree with and her obvious gender bias when referring to abusive relationships. Also describing ambers abuse of Johnny as “low level violence” which was absolutely disgusting. As a real victim of abuse this testimony should be removed I don’t care what qualifacations she has, she’s biased and as terrifying as the person she’s commiting perjury for. Also allowing her to refer to her notes on the stand? Like what?!
It seems she works for Prosecutors. The defendants are likely repped by public defenders and she likely isn't used to having her expertise questioned. Obviously, she becomes indignant when it is. She teaches Ethics. I wouldn't be surprised to hear that students refuse to take her class and Manhattan and Brooklyn jurors disregard her future testimonies.

Given the previous few weeks, the jury knows enough to recognize it for themselves. Depp’s team is treating them like smart humans instead of children. It will all feed into the verdict. Depp wanted it televised and is only asking for $50 million when he could ask for much more because he wants to clear his name. His team knows the goal and they are making it happen.

More damage was done to this woman's credibility and thus her reputation yesterday in terms of her clear bias for Amber, her inability to be neutral in male/female relationships, to be truthful and her aversion to any other professional's case notes who showed AH in any negative light in their evaluation. My advice would be: go on and look for more than 1 therapist, don't directly talk about the abuse but more "minor" problems in your life and check whether the therapist in front of you is keen to listen to you and to believe you.

By leaving ambiguity, he can leave the jury to come to their own conclusions, but with enough of a gentle push that it doesn't seem like "aha, this is what Depp's lawyers want us to think" (such as the "why was James Franco 'only a friend'and on a 'different' part of the intimate relationships form when Elon was also on that side of the line - and we know separately that Elon was romantically involved with Heard, so that calls the Psychologist's truthfulness into doubt). This feels more like them dropping a row of breadcrumbs for the jury to pursue rather than Heard's lawyer's ham -handed "This is what happened and you will accept what we say as true''.

Interesting point: most of the offensive texts were not to Amber and were never seen by her until the lawsuit which means they did not factor into her PTSD or abuse.
Excellent point. JD's team should have picked up on that. I think they missed alot of things and Camile routinely failed to nail things down. This is such a crucial point, it crossed my mind but wasn't as clear as you have expressed.

Absolutely disgraceful how a “professional” can be so clearly be biased towards men always being the abusers. When JD’s lawyer asks if a “victims” family member is the most objective person to ask, the “Dr” immediately uses the word “daughter”, after talking about gender stereotypes in her evaluations. It is utterly insane how she came to the conclusion of what occurred by just understanding AH’s side of the story, evaluating JD’s character without meeting him. She should not be allowed to be an expert witness in depositions or testimony ever again, and I sympathise with the people on the opposite side of the cases she has worked, especially those who are heterosexual men.
Lawyer is doing a great job against this expert. And she’s fighting him on every question. Which in my opinion makes her less credible. She’s not just answering his questions. There’s a lot of yes …but!
So far the expert is countering the lawyer and punching more allegations against Depp. She’s a pro trial witness. She’s forced him to move on several times after punching hard. All whether the jury has already sided with JD or not. If you have side with JD-then you will push away evidence that is against your feelings and accept evidence that helps your position. This is how jurors typically work. And they largely have made up their minds very early. Why going first is a HUGE advantage.

When asked why she didn't conduct a PTSD evaluation for Amber's childhood trauma she said that Amber at that moment wasn't showing signs of PTSD. How then did she diagnose Amber with PTSD at all???
She gave Amber a checklist of 20 PTSD symptoms and asked her to check the ones she had. Amber checked 19 of the 20. That is the extent of her "testing". 🤣

I get where you are coming from and I am supportive of your assessment. However her job as a psychologist is to understand her client (in this case AH), and take what her client say as truth. HOWEVER, as dr. Curry said, psychologists are not investigator whether or not something happened. That's where dr. Hughes is in the wrong, she made it as if she KNOWS these alleged abuse happened, which she wouldn't be able to know for sure in reality.

She only did one subject and formulated a conclusion on that alone based on 'other' data she collected from various sources. She claimed to know about Depp's issues, remember. How? When she never even met the guy? She did not do her due diligence here. She picked a side and stuck to it. VERY early on. Because I suspect she is just a parasite. She found a meaty source to eat from in Heard and just wanted to extend that feeding as long as she could. She's arrogant. More than any caring psychologist should be. This is clearly a paid/trusted professional that is willing to be paid to come to whatever conclusion you are willing to pay for. She sustains things that support amber and then ignores or objects to this be that support Johnny even if she has to conflict her own report. She should loose her license. If she'd been smart, she would have said she took that information under advisement. If she were a competent professional, she would have actually taken that under advisement. No reasonable person would expect her to take another expert's evaluation as gospel truth. But they would expect them to have done something to dismiss parts as an incorrect determination. Not much different than getting a second opinion or a specialist for a medical diagnosis.
I think she’s underestimating the attention this case is attracting. If the case goes in Johnny’s favour(I’m sure it will), her reputation will be irreparably tarnished.

But unless she is proven significantly, the judges won't consider it. Sadly, she's playing it quite well and has made sure to close off the open ends.
She has testified in 50 trials and not once has she testified in defense of a man in a heterosexual relationship. Her bias shows and it's horrifying to think about the lives she has ruined.
I’m a professional research psychologist and even though I have no forensic experience, many of my close colleagues do. This woman is a disaster and I hate that she misrepresents some of the people I truly respect.

Psychologists are scientists; we work with facts and evidence. Especially in court, a psychologist’s job is to simply evaluate the person and present their findings, not come up with a speculative conclusion.

Dr Curry, at least, talked to Amber Heard multiple times. Dr. Hughes never talked to Johnny Depp. So who is blindly assuming guilt here? Even Amber Heard's personal psychiatrist wouldn't diagnose her. This doctor unwillingly admitted to ignoring the reports that contradicted her findings and results including the reports from couple's therapist who they have been seeing for quite some time and Heard's personal nurse. Then just blatantly denied doing it. I have no dog in this fight but it seems to me that this woman is extremely biased and her credibility in future expert witness gigs for $500/hour is now severely compromised. Any smart lawyer will be using her testimony here to discredit her in the future.
Dawn Hughes's fatal mistake was to say she looked for supporting evidence for her conclusion while failing to try to falsify it as a scientist should. She took AH's testimony at face value and if it's false then her conclusions are false. Not interviewing or seeking feedback from JD just shows bias. Watch her eyes in the breaks between questions. The vacant self-searching expression betrays a realisation of the reality hitting home. She can lecture the jury as if she's an expert but I'm afraid she's not as expert as she wants us to believe.
I love how she knows she’s messed up. How quickly she answers they questions is such a big red flag. It’s so disappointing that there are people like her in the world that use their power to enforce there opinion and disregards all truth even when it’s right there. She is deadly.

Wow I really hope someone looks into all the cases this “forensic psychologist” have testified in because it seems there may have been some victims who were wrongfully accused & punished because she omitted the notes she didn’t agree with. It became very evident to me when Dr. Hughes first gave her evidence and findings that she had a very bias tone to her speaking. When I began mistrusting her was when she kept referring to men being the sole people to abuse. She kept saying "he" "him" instead of just giving evidence. She was making it personal. There was anger in her voice. So no, I don't trust her a bit.

A psychologist who couldn’t keep her composure. I don’t know why her face turned red during cross examination, either she was mad or she knew she wasn’t telling the entire truth of the story...or both.

The lawyer cross examines but gave the witness the dignity of making a reaction or response but at the same time his series of questions would lead us to understand the consistensies between her evaluation and its authenticity. A couple of months ago, a judge denied my order of protection from my abuser even though he had been charged with simple battery. Watching Jonny Depp get justice is like I'm getting justice. I can't explain why, but I feel like other survivors understand what I mean.
I feel you entirely, especially for hidden abuse like psychological or emotional. You feel like there will never be justice and you just have to get on with it while they get to go on about their lives. Even if he doesn’t win, every person that supports him is supporting every hidden victim and validating the experience, regardless of what the law says. Most abusers use some form of gaslighting blaming the victim for their behavior or saying things didn’t happen. This highlights for true victims that even if they don’t have the proof, by proxy we are believed. For a true victim, that is often all that’s needed, to know it did happen and we aren’t crazy.

Neither test indicates the name of the aggressor, so their statement about who attacked whom is deeply biased and unprofessional. This is unethical. She is accusing another whose identification is only based on the verbal report of one party.

She has served as an expert witness for 500 individuals in domestic abuse cases, but she has not represented ONE SINGLE heterosexual male in a case where he was abused by a woman. When she SPEAKS of abuse, throughout her testimony, if you watch the whole thing, like I did, you'll see that she consistently describes victims as female, and abusers as male. This woman has incredible lack of objectivity and bias for a practicing psychologist. She clearly holds the subconscious bias that ONLY MEN commit abuse, and women are not capable of abuse against men. She took every single lie Amber told her and is now presenting it to the courtroom as factual evidence. In doing an "objective" evaluation, what she actually did was come to her own conclusion at the very beginning of her "evaluation", and then discarded any evidence she came across along the way that might disprove that conclusion. In addition, she never evaluated Depp. Never even spoke to him. Not once. This is all incredibly problematic. This woman is dangerous as an expert witness. She needs to be removed from any future cases where men's futures hang in the balance.

This feels more like them dropping a row of breadcrumbs for the jury to pursue rather than Heard's lawyer's ham -handed "This is what happened and you will accept what we say as true''.

Absolutely disgraceful how a “professional” can be so clearly be biased towards men always being the abusers. When JD’s lawyer asks if a “victims” family member is the most objective person to ask, the “Dr” immediately uses the word “daughter”, after talking about gender stereotypes in her evaluations. It is utterly insane how she came to the conclusion of what occurred by just understanding AH’s side of the story, evaluating JD’s character without meeting him. She should not be allowed to be an expert witness in depositions or testimony ever again, and I sympathise with the people on the opposite side of the cases she has worked, especially those who are heterosexual men.

So far the expert is countering the lawyer and punching more allegations against Depp. She’s a pro trial witness. She’s forced him to move on several times after punching hard. All whether the jury has already sided with JD or not. If you have side with JD-then you will push away evidence that is against your feelings and accept evidence that helps your position. This is how jurors typically work. And they largely have made up their minds very early. Why going first is a HUGE advantage.

Let me say it again - this "expert" admitted to nitpicking information to best suit her testimony (in favor of Amber) This is blatant bias.
If she'd been smart, she would have said she took that information under advisement. If she were a competent professional, she would have actually taken that under advisement. No reasonable person would expect her to take another expert's evaluation as gospel truth. But they would expect them to have done something to dismiss parts as an incorrect determination. Not much different than getting a second opinion or a specialist for a medical diagnosis.
I think she’s underestimating the attention this case is attracting. If the case goes in Johnny’s favour(I’m sure it will), her reputation will be irreparably tarnished.

This doctor unwillingly admitted to ignoring the reports that contradicted her findings and results including the reports from couple's therapist who they have been seeing for quite some time and Heard's personal nurse. I have no dog in this fight but it seems to me that this woman is extremely biased and her credibility in future expert witness gigs for $500/hour is now severely compromised. Dawn Hughes's fatal mistake was to say she looked for supporting evidence for her conclusion while failing to try to falsify it as a scientist should. She took AH's testimony at face value and if it's false then her conclusions are false. Not interviewing or seeking feedback from JD just shows bias. Watch her eyes in the breaks between questions. The vacant self-searching expression betrays a realisation of the reality hitting home. She can lecture the jury as if she's an expert but I'm afraid she's not as expert as she wants us to believe.

This is different from jonny as there are multiple witnesses to ambers abuse towards him. she also uses the words "she" and "her" when referring to a victim and "he" and "his" when referring to an abuser which indicates a bias towards men being the abuser and is very inappropriate

Watching Jonny Depp get justice is like I'm getting justice. I can't explain why, but I feel like other survivors understand what I mean.
I feel you entirely, especially for hidden abuse like psychological or emotional. You feel like there will never be justice and you just have to get on with it while they get to go on about their lives. Even if he doesn’t win, every person that supports him is supporting every hidden victim and validating the experience, regardless of what the law says. Most abusers use some form of gaslighting blaming the victim for their behavior or saying things didn’t happen. This highlights for true victims that even if they don’t have the proof, by proxy we are believed. For a true victim, that is often all that’s needed, to know it did happen and we aren’t crazy.
