PLEASE READ: CORRECTION FOR EYE OF NEEDLE COMMENT
    Hey everyone!!
I love this community for so many reasons and one is that I’m constantly learning from you guys, even as I teach different ways to engage with Gods word.
After receiving some comments about the eye of the needle camel thing being false I wanted to look deeper into it. I want to clarify, I would NEVER ever knowingly tell you guys anything false about the Bible. Nor would I try to find meaning just to find meaning. This was something that I had heard through a sermon as well as through my mother in law as she had a professor who had said it to her, and it stuck with her. I wrote it in my Bible because I wanted to remember it and felt it was a good way to break down the word. I felt it taught a lot about humility. I should add this may be one of the only things in my whole Bible that was added without personally looking into context and validity, I’m usually a stickler for it but honestly I believe this being brought up was for a good reason! I want to stay sharp and reliable when it comes to what I’m putting on here for you guys. This being said I looked into the issue and I have since learned that this eye of a needle issue is something that has been debated since the 11th century!
As alot of you guys said, there really is no archaeological evidence to back it up and further it definitely changes the meaning of what Jesus is saying.
    There are two options:
Option A Jesus is saying that it’s impossible for a rich man to get into heaven (if its just an actual needle)
Option B Jesus is saying its hard for a rich man to get into heaven but is possible if the man humbled himself (if its a gate called the eye of the needle)
I took some time and wrestled with the text, and looked at alot of resources (commentary like bibleref, bible hub etc) and i realized the following which i hope helps everyone out the way it helped me.
    - there is really no evidence to support the existence of the gate
    - This means Jesus meant it’s impossible for a rich man to get into heaven
    - But in the context of the conversation he means it to be a comment on works based salvation, people of that time would have assumed being rich would get you into heaven but he is saying that it is impossible for your riches to get you there.
    - And in direct connection to that, He then says but with God all things are possible, meaning with God even with someone who it would be impossible on their own to get to heaven, with God with His salvation alone, they can.
I sincerely apologize that i got this wrong, i will be much more careful to ensure I dont do something like this and i want you guys to know as well, i dont search for deeper meaning in the bible just to do it, on the contrary i know that we are meant to meditate on the word, not just skim it. Lastly I did want to say that i hope this being proved false doesn’t negate the point i was trying to make which is that one helpful way to take notes is to understand the significance of a word used. Even if that particular example was more literal, there are many areas of the bible where metaphors are used, or the choice of words used matters! Studying these in depth is something i will always recommend! For example looking into all of the times God talks about using His right hand specifically (that was actually my other example for this point but didn’t make the video). But for this, let the Holy Spirit lead you and make sure to consult credible resources!
    Lots of love!
    Kay

@@CozyFaithWithKay Love this response! The fact that you took something negative, turned it to positive with such grace. Taking full accountability, WOW.. I am inspired 💯! Such a mature reply. Also providing the correct information, which I appreciate. I am thankful for you and at the end we are all human and we all make mistakes. This is just a lesson for ALL of us that we should ALL do our own research in everything we are told, about things or others before forwarding info (the he said, she said which gets us in trouble often). At the end the fact that I get to hear God's Word through you it is a blessing to me. Thank you for being one of the vessels. I appreciate you, your honesty and your effort to put God's Word out there. Blessings K ❤️ #CozyCrew

I’m in my 50’s and just really digging deeper into my faith and Bible. Though I’ve been a believer for the last 25yrs this part was not always a priority, lack of confidence or fully understanding my role. It’s never too late…thank you for breaking things down. It doesn’t, need to be perfect just being able to be fed daily and share the love. Thank you for having this channel and the love for God’s Word. Blessings ❤

It is a literal needle. Jesus is being hyperbolic. It is impossible for something large to fit through a tiny hole like that of the eye of a needle, the same way it is impossible for someone with great wealth to enter the kingdom of God. You will not find a single biblical scholar who equates this to being a physical door. She is reading meaning into the text that simply does not exist. Jesus literally clarifies what he means in the next couple verses after. Sometimes, the text just means what it says.

Jeffrey, thanks for your comment! It made me search more into it. I hope you understand truly I would never search for meaning just for meaning or try to read into something that doesn’t exist, just got this one wrong because I blindly took a few people’s words on it! Still very sorry for the mix up, hope my pinned comment clears it up. Thanks again and God bless you guys!! 🙏🏽

I would just follow the spirit for that! You can always add notes from note paper into your bible so maybe if you think you'll be writing a lot then write on note paper! There are really no rules for it, just whatever helps you to engage in God's word better!

I don't write a lot of that type of stuff as it's already in my study Bible commentaries. I write what God is speaking to me as I read. Then if a certain line stands out I will stencil those words/sentence in my bible.

Hello, I'm new to your channel and bible studying. I love it all so far. I just have a question to ask. Do you read the whole chapter 1st in the bible, then go back and write your notes for each chapter in the book. This part is where I get confused.

    • @CozyFaithWithKay
      @CozyFaithWithKay  8 วันที่ผ่านมา

So for myself I don't read the whole chapter before doing notes, but I will read the section or chapter that I am going to study before starting with notes! I make notes on whatever I want to, without much pressure or worry of if I have a note for every section or not, my goal isn't really to make a guide of my bible but more just to write notes as they help me personally :) hope this helps!
