I can’t help but think of all the people in the world who would be persecuted for or would gladly receive ANY Bible while the comments and the video debate over which one is best, all of which could be easily purchased. If you have a Bible of any translation, it’s a blessing. If you think about buying another Bible, consider donating one you don’t use, or donating your funds to organizations that distribute Bibles for free.
I cant watch this because the title alone worries me. I have a dear friend who believes that the KJV is the only version anyone should read. I boldly said one day to her, "Oh, so you don't believe I am saved because I read something different?" She didn't really respond to it. A bible is a gift from God. The only reason I dont read a KJV is i do not understand the language but if it was all i had, i would still read it and give thanks to God for it. But i do not have to only have that, i can choose what to read. It is silly to think one must have a perfect version or a new one etc. JUST read Gods word. If you have a bible, please read it.
I think about this often too! I have recently been on the hunt for a new Bible myself, but it hasn’t been easy to make a decision because I want this to be really my only Bible! The one I currently use is a study Bible that I got second hand from someone and it has some rather sloppy writing in it, and the cover is that faux leather and it’s crumbling everywhere! Whenever I bring it it makes a mess. I want a new Bible, to be my own to mark and make notes and that isn’t falling apart! But even so I have felt kind of guilty knowing people in parts of the world are blessed to just have one Bible in any condition!
Right I get where you are coming from. But some people need help, like me. I have a bunch of Bible's and the ones that tell who the author was, who they were writing to and where the scene is set really help me. You are right any bible will do when you need it the most. But if you can afford to get something that will help you retain the information better or dig deeper than I'm all for it. No one is shaking their finger at others for not having a fancy bible. We are helping each other and encouraging each other in the faith.
Reading every day is life-changing! I'm just finishing my first year with the NASB, getting ready on 1/1 to start again with an LSB study Bible. The key is just beginning and giving yourself grace to pick it up again if you miss a day or two. ❤ God's Word is amazing!
The Bible Recap has changed my Bible reading habits. The daily chronological reading plan has really helped my understanding of the events over time and my recall of scripture is better. Each year I read through the Bible in a different translation and this coming year I'm using the ESV spiral journaling Bible along with the ESV study Bible.
I just purchased the pink NIV you use and am loving it! I started with NKJ as a young child and then as a teen used NIV. A Bible program I attended for a year had us use NASB and I stuck with that for a few years but have been reading ESV for almost 20 years now. My husband recently came to the Lord and English is his second language so I decided to go back to NIV so I can read with him. I feel so grateful for all the options we’re given for the Word. Last year I felt convicted that my reading had not been consistent. So in July I challenged myself to read the entire Bible by the end of the year. I know it wasn’t ideal for soaking but I wanted to really commit myself and I did it! Even by reading large amounts every day it changed me! I’m back to a slower pace now and really looking forward to using the soak method.
I love the Revised Standard Version Second Catholic Edition. This is the third year I have gone through the Bible in a year with The Bible in a Year podcast through Ascension Press. Everyday you read and listen to the Word followed by a short talk.
My everyday Bible is the ESV study bible. I just ordered and received the NLT Every Womans Bible. It is a filament enabled bible, and it has such great content. I compared it with the she reads truth bible, so glad I chose the every womans bible.
I've struggled trying to find the right Bible for me. Honestly I must have five that I've tried to find the right one for. I found the Life Application Study Bible and it's perfect for me. I just wish I would/could be faithful in my daily reading. Thank you Diana, you always make things clear.
For me the question after what translation do I pick? Is what do I want in my Bible. Let me explain. Do I want a large font, single coloumn, verse by verse, References study notes, pictures, words of Jesus in Red or Blue. Layout & content important for some people. Is the Bible made out of leather is it a size that is portable easy to carry in my hand or under my arm. For others once they have a translation choice they can just pick up any Bible & off they go.
Read daily… started reading thru 30 plus years ago - never quit. 15-20 min a day. Love Bible walk plan. It has made ALL the difference in my life. Using an ESV historical chronical version - nearing the end!
I started in 2023 doing "The Bible Recap" and finished my first year reading every day, started again in 2024 and found "HeartDive with Kanoe Gibson " and just fell more in love with God and his Word, so looking forward to digging deeper in 2025. Reading the Bible every day is addictive in a beautiful way!!
I have my brand new (for my birthday this past October!) Bible (NIV). And THEN I got really smart (lol!) and ordered a "Bible In A Year" with all of the daily readings set out for me! No more flipping through! I'll take notes in my 'regular' Bible though 😎 Oh I should mention, I got the 10.5 *XL* print! I love it!
I LOVE my Jesus Bible. Such amazing study tools. The beginning of each book has a background of the book and then study items throughout each book showing how Jesus is portrayed all thru the OT. Great Bible.

This is my second year reading the bible cover to cover. I watch a daily reading on TH-cam and they explain it as we read. It's so amazing. EVERY person should read the bible cover to cover. It's so amazing - changed my life - getting to know who God is. It's mind-blowing

Here in Australia you pretty much have to go to a Christian bookshop (and there are not many of these) to shop bibles, our general bookstores rarely have a Bible let alone a range. This year I'm getting close to finishing the NKJV. I haven't decided which translation I'm gonna read in 2025. I find that singing a couple of hymns before I start reading puts me in the right frame of mind! I am a terrible singer, but I do it anyway.
I know you mentioned not using your phone for distraction but I find my filament Bible with the app to be very helpful in expanding on what I'm reading.
I love my NIV pink study bible. I remember when Dawn talked about it years ago on her channel I knew I had to have it. It is especially helpful when we do our SOAK journaling on the weekends.

I've been wanted a new Bible for awhile now (I've outgrown my old one) but we don't have a book store in our town so I kept putting it off. Too hard to search online. I have several translations (NSV, ESV, CSB,NIV, and of course KJV), I like to write out the Word for Word, and then the thought for thought of each scripture I study. Back when I first gave my life to Christ, the thing that us younger people were told to do was only read the KJV, but as I got older, I needed a better understanding and although I thank God for small beginnings; it’s so much better that you get an understanding of what you’re reading for the purposes of applying it ❤

The problem with idea for idea is it’s someone’s idea and opinion. Great for devotional, but if you are questioning something it’s great to look at maybe New King James, which changes the ye to you and thou to me/us/you. Great video

You are such a breath of fresh air!! I love Bibles and have collected several over the years and have donated many that just weren't for me. My favorite translations are ESV and NLT. I read through the Bible in 2021-2022. I am in my 3rd year of Bible Study Fellowship that meets weekly and I love it including the reading, studying, and answering questions in our workbook. We are studying the book of Revelation this year. My new goal is to read the Bible when I first get up so no excuse for me to miss a day during the week. I made this happen in 2024, and I'm going to keep going until I'm called home. It's so worth it taking this on. I think the ESV is a great translation and was my first read-through version. These days I'm super into the NASB because when someone in the NT references the OT it shows up in small caps so you know they are quoting scripture. I also double-check stuff with the NET Full Notes addition on my IPad because there are so many great notes when you are unsure about what you are reading. Especially with Palms and Proverbs.

I would also add if you are looking to carry a bible to church and you will be following along with the teacher or minister, is to find a bible where the verse numbers are set out to the left…. Much easier and quicker to find instead of the verse numbers mixed with the text.
I’ve been reading most everyday since 2019, I read either NKJV or LSB. I just received a LSB MacArthur study Bible and get wait to get into it. You give some great tips.
I love my She Reads Truth/CSB version. It has devotional pages in it that are fairly insightful and are always pointing to Jesus. There are wide margins for journaling, prayers, etc. It comes in indexed, non-indexed, leather, fabric, etc. editions. There are notes at the bottom (though not as much as a study Bible would have) and there are two ribbons for marking your spot. In the back, it has a year long reading plan. Overall an easy translation to read too! It was the first Bible I bought for myself. I used to read mostly on my phone but it just feels different having it spread out on my dresser, reading it in the morning as I get ready for work. I loved it so much I bought one for a friend of mine. Another translation I want to get my hands on is the ESV study Bible - I've heard so many good things about it! Love that you are encouraging people to read the Bible more! How many times has God set the right scripture before me when it was deeply needed as I've read the Bible? Too numerous to count. Reading the Bible is an excellent way to start a dialogue with God anytime. Taking what we are reading, discussing it with God, praying, etc. all of this can build a closeness to Him. Even when we don't understand the words, just saying, "I'm reading with You, Father. I am here to spend time with You." That sort of thing builds our relationship with him. How blessed we are to have access to the Bible!
When I started studying the Bible, we only had the King James version and I had memorized or at least was familiar with much of that version, I did switch to the New King James version and like it. I often use the amplified version also. I've been in churches that are into Bible study and I've read it through several times. I like to study subjects such as marriage, finances, etc. I love the Bible.
I started using an ESV Journaling Study Bible this year and I love it. I’m taking Bible study Fellowship and we are studying Revelation and this Bible is so helpful! Love the study notes and room to journal. ❤️ I recently found a brand new Quest Bible at a used book store and it looks amazing as well!
I began my Christian walk with the NASB. Having read the NASB for years when the NIV became popular, it sounded like a children’s bible in its wording. I never thought I would change from the NASB. In more recent years the ESV has become popular. It is the Bible my church uses. I began Bible Journaling nearly 10 years ago and the ESV was the only translation in journaling bible world at that time, so I bought my first ESV. I have now fully transitioned to the ESV with one exception. I still retain the NASB for verses memorized in that translation. Regarding NIV and NLT, if they are the translation that get you reading, then they are awesome, but if you are wanting to actually STUDY the Word and dig deep, I encourage you to get an ESV. There is now an ESV journaling study bible - highly recommended!!
The Life Application Bible is awesome! I have the one I bought in '97/8. It looks like it's been through a ringer, but I LOVE it! I grew up with the KJV and NIV. I just purchased an NASB study Bible and I cannot wait to get started in January. My very favorite study Bible is the ESV study Bible. Truly, it is a textbook!

There is just NOTHING like the Word of God! 🙌📖💖 I went through something quite dangerous and traumatic in early 2021 that taught me the value of the Bible more than ever before, and I determined from that day forward that I would never go anywhere in my life without having the Word of God on my person if I can help it. So I carry my beautiful Bible everywhere in my purse now (yes, an actually paper and pages, Old and New Testament Bible 😂...from a beautiful shop called Paul's Leather Company, I highly recommend!) and it NEVER ceases to amaze me how He reveals new, fresh, and life-giving Truth from it every single day. You really cannot separate the Word of God in Person from the Word of God on Paper (and vice versa 😊). I will not leave home without it. 💖 Anyway, just thank you for always encouraging us to value and return to His Word! Keep up the wonderful work! P.S. You also look absolutely lovely in this video! 🤩

I have been considering the CSB Life Council Bible for the new year. I have been in the NASB, which I love, but it has been a bit of a rough read since transitioning into a more difficult season.
I want the spiral Bible but I don’t want to have to transfer my notes from my other Bible, which I also love! I think I like the idea of a flat lay Bible for note taking.

I just purchased an NIV. My one thing I needed was large print 😂 so I bought an NIV personal size large print. It also has thumb index which was a bonus.
I have that Life Application Study Bible in the NIV translation, and I love it! I also have the Jesus Bible in the green cover (ESV) and I love how it points out Jesus in every book!
I have an CSB for women my husband has it for men and my teen and young adult daughter for students :) they also had the kids adventure bible and loved them as well ❤
I also enjoy Tony Evans commentary book. I read it for more information and understanding when reading the Bible. I personally like the NIV application Bible. Had it for years. I also have a slim line one I take to BSF.
I started with reading online on the Bible ref website which is cool because it breaks down each verse and each book with commentary.. then I picked up my old nirv kids bible my grandma gave me to use in church as a kid but then I invested in a hosanna revival NLT note taking Bible and it’s gorgeous and light weight for what it is but I wanted to try the Jesus bible so I had gotten the one you showed in the video but I haven’t really used that one yet but finally I got a hosanna revival esv study Bible because I joined a zoom call Bible study through CBS and they use the ESV version and I was tired of having to use my phone so I’m glad I have multiple translations in different sizes for different purposes. I’m hoping to be more consistent with reading my Bible. I was on fire for Jesus in the spring and started backsliding
I am still fairly new to being Christian and I started with the NLT. It was great. I highly recommend it if you are new like I was. As I knew nothing as I was atheist. I knew the base stories like Adam and Eve, Noah’s Ark, Moses and Jesus’s birth aka the Christmas story but nothing much more than that. I got the NLT life application Bible and it helped me tremendously! Not only does it give context and background information to the text but it helps you to apply it which is what I struggled with. If you are new and you can, get a life application Bible. Even a secondhand one will do.
The SOAK method doesn't have to be all in order only once - for eg, as I'm reading a verse, I can at the same time be thinking how to apply it to my life and asking God to help me (ie praying) before moving on and doing the same thing with another verse.
I have several versions of the Bible, and several translations. My very favorite (binding has worn out) is my old Nelson study Bible, NKJV. I don't use it as often as I used to (binding) but it is still my favorite one.

So i am new, and from antheists and new ager families and surroundings. I can’t talk about my faith or God with them, they get angry and several have already cut me off (which is fine). BUT I was looking at bibles online but didnt really land on any so there was a time of uncertainty with it (like is it really smth i wanted to spend money on ect… i wasnt fully sold yet). But at the time I was in a process where I decluttered all my journals and decided i wanted to go electronic with journaling which i really love but where on drought for a while, but cane to really miss journaling by hand (did not miss my old journals and really enjoyed having less stuff like journals). So I came across a yt video where a girl said: this is the perfect cozy bible! And immediately I knew that was the one I needed. And turns out I LOVE it, it’s good to bring outside, its just the right size, text size, soft, journaling space… I bring it with me, Sit in couch with it, bed, table, forest, mountain, by the sea, at every place. I have read the bible every week! I try every day but can do better. But it is my perfect bible! Also when i got it my entire belief system changed, and i can clearly see how decieved i was by my surrounded people. It was like switching on a light. It turns out it was a really popular one from hosanna revival, but 10/10! I did get more translations aswell, and i did get study bible as extra resources (because I could) but that one is my bible.

Great video and you look fab! That jacket is super cute and the colour looks amazing on you. Love that you can walk into general book shops and access such a beautiful range of Bibles. Here in Australia you pretty much have to go to a Christian bookshop (and there are not many of these) to shop bibles, our general bookstores rarely have a Bible let alone a range. Love that you are encouraging reading the Bible and totally agree that it is a countenance change 🫶📖

This year I'm getting close to finishing the NKJV. I haven't decided which translation I'm gonna read in 2025. I find that singing a couple of hymns before I start reading puts me in the right frame of mind! I am a terrible singer, but I do it anyway.

I know you mentioned not using your phone for distraction but I find my filament Bible with the app to be very helpful in expanding on what I'm reading.
I love my NIV pink study bible. I remember when Dawn talked about it years ago on her channel I knew I had to have it. It is especially helpful when we do our SOAK journaling on the weekends.

I have several translations (NSV, ESV, CSB,NIV, and of course KJV), I like to write out the Word for Word, and then the thought for thought of each scripture I study. Back when I first gave my life to Christ, the thing that us younger people were told to do was only read the KJV, but as I got older, I needed a better understanding and although I thank God for small beginnings; it’s so much better that you get an understanding of what you’re reading for the purposes of applying it ❤

The problem with idea for idea is it’s someone’s idea and opinion. Great for devotional, but if you are questioning something it’s great to look at maybe New King James, which changes the ye to you and thou to me/us/you. Great video

I also love reading my Bibles I have a world Bible school study journaling edition Bible and a catholic life Bible and a children Bible as well and mini Bibles kjv can I write in them with a regular pencil ✏️ 🙏 ❤
You are such a breath of fresh air!! I love Bibles and have collected several over the years and have donated many that just weren't for me. My favorite translations are ESV and NLT. I read through the Bible in 2021-2022. I am in my 3rd year of Bible Study Fellowship that meets weekly and I love it including the reading, studying, and answering questions in our workbook. We are studying the book of Revelation this year. My new goal is to read the Bible when I first get up so no excuse for me to miss a day during the week. I made this happen in 2024, and I'm going to keep going until I'm called home. It's so worth it taking this on. I think the ESV is a great translation and was my first read-through version. These days I'm super into the NASB because when someone in the NT references the OT it shows up in small caps so you know they are quoting scripture. I also double-check stuff with the NET Full Notes addition on my IPad because there are so many great notes when you are unsure about what you are reading. Especially with Palms and Proverbs.

Thanks for the tips! Very helpful. I would also add if you are looking to carry a bible to church and you will be following along with the teacher or minister, is to find a bible where the verse numbers are set out to the left…. Much easier and quicker to find instead of the verse numbers mixed with the text.
I’ve been reading most everyday since 2019, I read either NKJV or LSB. I just received a LSB MacArthur study Bible and get wait to get into it. You give some great tips.

I love my She Reads Truth/CSB version. It has devotional pages in it that are fairly insightful and are always pointing to Jesus. There are wide margins for journaling, prayers, etc. It comes in indexed, non-indexed, leather, fabric, etc. editions. There are notes at the bottom (though not as much as a study Bible would have) and there are two ribbons for marking your spot. In the back, it has a year long reading plan. Overall an easy translation to read too! It was the first Bible I bought for myself. I used to read mostly on my phone but it just feels different having it spread out on my dresser, reading it in the morning as I get ready for work. I loved it so much I bought one for a friend of mine. Another translation I want to get my hands on is the ESV study Bible - I've heard so many good things about it!
Love that you are encouraging people to read the Bible more! How many times has God set the right scripture before me when it was deeply needed as I've read the Bible? Too numerous to count. Reading the Bible is an excellent way to start a dialogue with God anytime. Taking what we are reading, discussing it with God, praying, etc. all of this can build a closeness to Him. Even when we don't understand the words, just saying, "I'm reading with You, Father. I am here to spend time with You." That sort of thing builds our relationship with him.
How blessed we are to have access to the Bible!
When I started studying the Bible, we only had the King James version and I had memorized or at least was familiar with much of that version, I did switch to the New King James version and like it. I often use the amplified version also. I've been in churches that are into Bible study and I've read it through several times. I like to study subjects such as marriage, finances, etc. I love the Bible.
I started using an ESV Journaling Study Bible this year and I love it. I’m taking Bible study Fellowship and we are studying Revelation and this Bible is so helpful! Love the study notes and room to journal. ❤️ I recently found a brand new Quest Bible at a used book store and it looks amazing as well!

I began my Christian walk with the NASB. Having read the NASB for years when the NIV became popular, it sounded like a children’s bible in its wording. I never thought I would change from the NASB. In more recent years the ESV has become popular. It is the Bible my church uses. I began Bible Journaling nearly 10 years ago and the ESV was the only translation in journaling bible world at that time, so I bought my first ESV. I have now fully transitioned to the ESV with one exception. I still retain the NASB for verses memorized in that translation.
Regarding NIV and NLT, if they are the translation that get you reading, then they are awesome,
but if you are wanting to actually STUDY the Word and dig deep, I encourage you to get an ESV. There is now an ESV journaling study bible - highly recommended!!

The Life Application Bible is awesome! I have the one I bought in '97/8. It looks like it's been through a ringer, but I LOVE it! I grew up with the KJV and NIV. I just purchased an NASB study Bible and I cannot wait to get started in January. My very favorite study Bible is the ESV study Bible. Truly, it is a textbook!

There is just NOTHING like the Word of God! 🙌📖💖 I went through something quite dangerous and traumatic in early 2021 that taught me the value of the Bible more than ever before, and I determined from that day forward that I would never go anywhere in my life without having the Word of God on my person if I can help it. So I carry my beautiful Bible everywhere in my purse now (yes, an actually paper and pages, Old and New Testament Bible 😂...from a beautiful shop called Paul's Leather Company, I highly recommend!) and it NEVER ceases to amaze me how He reveals new, fresh, and life-giving Truth from it every single day. You really cannot separate the Word of God in Person from the Word of God on Paper (and vice versa 😊). I will not leave home without it. 💖
Anyway, just thank you for always encouraging us to value and return to His Word! Keep up the wonderful work!

I just purchased an NIV. My one thing I needed was large print 😂 so I bought an NIV personal size large print. It also has thumb index which was a bonus.
I have that Life Application Study Bible in the NIV translation, and I love it! I also have the Jesus Bible in the green cover (ESV) and I love how it points out Jesus in every book!
I have an CSB for women my husband has it for men and my teen and young adult daughter for students :) they also had the kids adventure bible and loved them as well ❤

I also enjoy Tony Evans commentary book. I read it for more information and understanding when reading the Bible. I personally like the NIV application Bible. Had it for years. I also have a slim line one I take to BSF.

I started with reading online on the Bible ref website which is cool because it breaks down each verse and each book with commentary.. then I picked up my old nirv kids bible my grandma gave me to use in church as a kid but then I invested in a hosanna revival NLT note taking Bible and it’s gorgeous and light weight for what it is but I wanted to try the Jesus bible so I had gotten the one you showed in the video but I haven’t really used that one yet but finally I got a hosanna revival esv study Bible because I joined a zoom call Bible study through CBS and they use the ESV version and I was tired of having to use my phone so I’m glad I have multiple translations in different sizes for different purposes. I’m hoping to be more consistent with reading my Bible. I was on fire for Jesus in the spring and started backsliding
I am still fairly new to being Christian and I started with the NLT. It was great. I highly recommend it if you are new like I was. As I knew nothing as I was atheist. I knew the base stories like Adam and Eve, Noah’s Ark, Moses and Jesus’s birth aka the Christmas story but nothing much more than that.
I got the NLT life application Bible and it helped me tremendously! Not only does it give context and background information to the text but it helps you to apply it which is what I struggled with.
If you are new and you can, get a life application Bible. Even a secondhand one will do.

The SOAK method doesn't have to be all in order only once - for eg, as I'm reading a verse, I can at the same time be thinking how to apply it to my life and asking God to help me (ie praying) before moving on and doing the same thing with another verse.
I read The Message along with my NLT or CSB.

I have several versions of the Bible, and several translations. My very favorite (binding has worn out) is my old Nelson study Bible, NKJV. I don't use it as often as I used to (binding) but it is still my favorite one.

Could you offer any guidance regarding tips for a Male perspective? And study guides? This will be his first ever bible & I'm feeling stress at potentially choosing wrong.
So i am new, and from antheists and new ager families and surroundings. I can’t talk about my faith or God with them, they get angry and several have already cut me off (which is fine). BUT I was looking at bibles online but didnt really land on any so there was a time of uncertainty with it (like is it really smth i wanted to spend money on ect… i wasnt fully sold yet). But at the time I was in a process where I decluttered all my journals and decided i wanted to go electronic with journaling which i really love but where on drought for a while, but cane to really miss journaling by hand (did not miss my old journals and really enjoyed having less stuff like journals). So I came across a yt video where a girl said: this is the perfect cozy bible! And immediately I knew that was the one I needed. And turns out I LOVE it, it’s good to bring outside, its just the right size, text size, soft, journaling space… I bring it with me, Sit in couch with it, bed, table, forest, mountain, by the sea, at every place. I have read the bible every week! I try every day but can do better. But it is my perfect bible! Also when i got it my entire belief system changed, and i can clearly see how decieved i was by my surrounded people. It was like switching on a light. It turns out it was a really popular one from hosanna revival, but 10/10! I did get more translations aswell, and i did get study bible as extra resources (because I could) but that one is my bible.
