Paranormal Investigator killed by Train while investigating 'Goatman'

- LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE3) - An Ohio woman walking on an old but still active railroad trestle in east Louisville was apparently investigating a local urban legend with her boyfriend when she was hit and killed by a train, a deputy coroner said Sunday.
Roquel Bain, 26, of Dayton, Ohio, died of multiple blunt force injuries suffered in the collision and subsequent fall from the trestle, Deputy Coroner Jack Arnold said. The collision, which occurred near the 3100 block of South Pope Lick Road, was first reported to police at 7:30 p.m. Saturday.
Bain was pronounced dead at the scene. The coroner estimated that she fell between 80 and 100 feet. Her boyfriend survived with no injuries, police say.

I've lived two miles away from this place my whole life. It's common for highschoolers to walk the bridge as a dare on Halloween. My next door neighbor did exactly that in 2001. Same thing happened to him.. there were three of them, and the other two were able to make it off in time, but not him. It's disturbing having this place so close. I don't know if I believe in the Goatman or not, as I've never seen him. But this place seems cursed in other ways...
or better yet. there is a sign that says no tresspassing. nothing cursed at all. it just called being stupid. i have a good idea. you are a tiny living creature. that train sits around 12 feet high. each carriage can carry a max of 344,000 lbs. plus the bed itself. don't do it. not worth it.

Stay away from railroad property, especially trestles! Trains take about a mile to stop.
Just found this out Sunday. She is actually my ex-girlfriend. We had been together for about two years. Very sad that this happened. But she always was a dare devil type of person. I had always feared that something like this would happen. My deepest sympathies to the family. I have lost relatives close to me and it is really hard. It is very tragic and sad.

She was the type of girl that did what she wanted to do and didn't care about consequences. I was always the voice of reason and she hated me for it. I had told her a lot of the wild and crazy things she liked to do were one day going to bite her in the ass. That's One of the reasons she broke up with me. I was to boring and didn't want to live on the wild side. I tried to tell her for two years and it never sank in. So I had to just let it go and let her live her own life.

That lady says if a train comes you have to "jump, run or basically get hit". She left out one thing that would save your life. If you lay on your stomach in the middle of the track, the train will run over the rails above you and you will live. There are videos like this. The only bad thing would be in the rare instance that something was dragging from the train.

Here's an idea, how about adding a catwalk on the side of it.. Or at least some kind of places to stand spaced out.. That way if a train does come it could save some lives.. REGUSRLESS if they aren't supposed to be there or not.. Kids will adventure and do anything for these types of legends.. So the city should make room in the budget for at least some place to stand to the side..
You can't defeat stupidity. People dying like this are just Darwin awards. At least they die here themselves instead of drunk/drug driving for a thrill and killing others.
People who are dumb enough to do stupid things despite warnings, will either hurt themselves here or anywhere else, they are doomed unfortunately

They could also do some tests and see if your on the bridge and hear a train horn, how far away the train can be before you can hear it.. Then put up signs for the train to whistle so the people on the bridge have as much time as possible to get off

i walked across the trestle back in 1995 when i lived in kentucky. it was dark and i wanted a thrill. i did see a figure behind me but i had my dads 9 milimeter in my hand. for some reason he didnt chase me but i was a dumb teen and was wanting him to so i could bag the goatman hehe
