This is the goal for 2020 was to get an impact at 3,000 yards! But also to continue using my full-size IPSC target as a standard size plate even at extreme distance. I thought this would be more impressive to accomplish. I can not stress enough that each component used for this was specifically chosen for the task of long range. All the companies involved are dedicated to increasing performance and helping accomplish further goals. That’s what I’m here to do and I am excited to be at my old range to make it happen! Thanks for all the support.

Damn man! And with only a half MOA target that's f**kin nuts!! Congrats
Thanks man, yeah that target was pretty small out there
She looked pretty damn consistent out there.
There were some that grouped well despite missing. Wind and velocity make a big difference at these ranges
Congratulations buddy. That was awesome.
Thanks Josh! Much appreciated man. If you end up in Utah again let’s get out and smack steel! Hope you’re doing well buddy.
Great to see all the effort pay off congratulations. Looking forward to more footage. Very cool
Absolutely awesome, Sir.
New to your channel, but I watched the build description video a couple of days ago and could not wait to see the results of such an intricately thought out system!
Thanks man, welcome. This is what it’s all about! Pushing myself further and learning from it!
Great job sir!! 3000 isn’t an easy task but you have definitely put the work in so you deserve to enjoy the fruits of your labor. Great video.
Thanks guys! There were things to do better for next time. Excited to get it done on the first trip. I’ve been working towards this goal for years now!
Well done Logan. Keep up the hard work and the great content. That's a long ways to sling some lead. 🤘
Thanks brother I was stoked to get an impact. I appreciate it
1/2 moa amazing. Great shooting as always.
"I wouldn't venture too far out there, fellas. This sniper's got talent!"
Awesome! Can’t wait to get my 7 Saum done!
Amazing shot . C'est MAGNIFIQUE !!!!!!!! Very happy for You Sir
Very good. Now time to try 2 miles. You can do it. Thanks for the video.
Only another 520 yards lol
Congrats from another Utahrd! You and that rifle make a hell of a consistent pair. Gotta get out to there and see if I can stretch the old 243 out to the short 1k 😂
Sniff snifff. If I only had the space. Awesome video Logan.
Come on out we can share
@@WestDesertShooter how far from vegas are you?
That's a long shot man!
🖖🏻🇫🇷😎🇫🇷😇🇫🇷🖖🏻
Thanks Philippe! It was definitely a far shot!
I’m subscribed and part of the notification squad and this video never showed up until today!
Hi, epic. Do you mind me asking what bullet you were shooting in your 7SAUM?
Gosh dude I am so jealous
Don’t be dude. My lil bro has put tons of time and effort into it. You can too.🤘🏻
That’s AWESOME Logan! Congrats!👍👍👌👌🤘🤘
Thanks!
The American Sniper🇺🇸👍
Accurate gun! Nice shot.. 3000 yds.. wow👍
Awesome work. That is really pushing that cartridge out there and consistently!
Fun day. So stoked for you.🤘🏻
It was awesome thanks for helping dude!
Nice Work Logan! 👊😎🇺🇸
Much appreciated dude! Thanks
Great shooting Logan. You are living the dream:) I know you have been working very hard to get to where you are. Well done buddy.
Phwoarrrr awesome stuff mate, wasn't exepcting the follow up vid so soon!
Actually this was recorded before the rifle video haha
"you cant bullshit your way to 2000 yards.."
thats whats up.
Hi
I saw in the video that you are using a kind of adjustable bag rider. I would like to get information. Thanks
Tito
Nice!...man I was excited watching!...
Thanks dude
That is something to be proud of .
Thanks James. I am definitely proud of this one
That's some good shooting mate. Can you please confirm what COAL your loading to? Thanks
thanks for another great video with a beautiful rifle you got me thinking about trying my own as It stands right now i am running 6.5 cm with a mdt chassis that 7 saum is looking really nice I did notice that I did not hear you mention what twist yours is running nor what powder you had chosen to push your 183 gr smk nor did you mention what primers you preferred or are using thanks again .
Logan awesome video. I have a question. are you able to follow the vapor trail using your scope from that distance. I tried so hard to find it, but couldn't bc of the mirage. And which direction would be coming from on the video on the left or right side of the target? Thanks
I wasn’t seeing trace the trajectory is too high from my view. Also I was runnning the bolt, not really looking for trace
Good stuff Logan! Hope you guys are doing well and staying safe. Take care bro!
Having a good time I’m set where I’m at. You guys take care!
Congrats bro. Keep up the great work.
Many thanks, I will!
I thought for sure every time there was no dirt splash that it was impact, guess dirt just gets lazy sometimes. Great shooting.
Why no long range camera set up? I still need to finish actually building mine but it should do line of site, no matter the range (as far as target shooting is concerned), pretty easily and cost me less than $60.
Nice done Bro👍👍))
Nice man. What was your total elevation? I got my 7SAUM to 2480 last year. I plan to try for 2800 this year once the crops are gone. Did you say that was an Anarchy Outdoors adjustable base?
Adjustablebagrider.com
@@longshotprecisionllc1224 gotcha. I was actually referring to the scope base. Their are very few adjustable scope bases out there and I was curious if Anarchy Outdoors had come up with their own. I think you and I have had some conversations on Instagram about the adjustable bad rider.
Thanks man I believe it was near 165 or so. A bit less than my calculator thought. Maybe bad info on my inputs somewhere. It is an Ivey adjustable base. The scope base picatinny rail is Anarchy outdoors 30 MOA rail. Sorry for the confusion
@@WestDesertShooter awesome man. Your altitude must me fairly high up there in the desert. I'm down near sea level and that shot would require well over 200 moa for myself. It's all good no confusion it was just wishful thinking on my part. I have a 40 moa rail on my tikka 7 SAUM from anarchy Outdoors
Always impressed 👍, are you hand loading these rounds? What ya got going ther?
I didn't get a notification from you-tude on this video.
Very impressive!
Nice Video I thought I heard shots flying over head (grins while eyeballing that bag rider)
Logan, I’m in need of some advice...going for a mile shot. My ballistic app saying I need 80 MOA. I have a Tikka t3x tac a1 in 6.5 creedmoor vortex razor w/125 clicks in the turret, 40 moa in the riser. when zeroing at a 100 I’m having to hold under 6&1/2 moa in the glass to hit my target, turret is bottomed out. What am I missing here to get a true zero.
Dial up 6.5 MOA and get a normal zero. Slip your turret to zero. Once it is now zeroed see how much adjustment you have up, a mile is a long shot and might require all your adjustment plus hold over in the reticle.
@@WestDesertShooter Thank you!
Hell yeah dude 🤘🏻
Thanks man it was a big achievement for myself
Stupid TH-cam!!!! I was wondering about you! I thought you might have given up on youtube and quit making videos because I haven't seen any videos pop up in my notifications in I don't know how long. I go to your channel and you have made a ton of videos. I am sorry man, I did not receive any notifications and I clicked the bell long ago. Glad to see you on here. I would have to binge watch all weekend to get caught up!
Hearing the plane fly over brings up the question, how many feet above ground level is the bullet at its apex? And ,well done!👍
Good question. It’s called max ordinate. The 183gr SMK going 2950 FPS will be 1,799.6 inches high (about 50 yards) at its highest point, 1,809 yards from the shooter, on its way to it’s 3,000 yard target. I think the planes are safe. Always smart to know especially at these ranges, for safety and reading wind.
Did you modify the mag to allow bolt close on empty?
Nope, factory Mag
Great shooting!!! Bullet? Speed?
Sierra 183g 2975 FPS at the muzzle
Do you have 408 chey tac, any rifle to test, Just righr 3000 yards, from the box)).
Wait such video.
Thanks
Very cool, freakin awesome
Nice, you need a bigger target and maybe a hit indicator.
This is the same path that I am planning on going myself, I want to get into ELR, and I have built a Tikka 6.5CM in an MDT ACC chassis, so right now it is at v0.5. I need a better optic, a good bi-pod, and eventually will be getting a McGowen 7mm SAUM barrel 1/8" twist rate. Edit: I was unaware that PBB was in Utah, I'll be looking into options from them as well.
Any advice on length for optimal muzzle velocity for 7mm SAUM? I can go out to 32" on length, looks like most people go with a 28".
Can you drop a name for a local gunsmith for truing up the action and fitting the barrel once I go that route? I'm a "Utard" as well in the SLC valley :).
I will be getting all of the reloading gear as I know that factory ammo for this is just insane.
All of this is going to take place over the next year or so as the initial investment for what I have to start out with was a bit, and I figured I'd cut my teeth on this setup as I plan for the next.
My brothers and I go out to the west desert on trips a couple times a year, and this last year I was stretching out my brother's .223 to 815 meters, really caught the bug for ELR even though what I was doing wouldn't really qualify lol.
And thank you for all of the videos!
outstanding
Bullet weight and style and brand?
Sierra 183g BTHP
Maybe you cut it out of the video but "follow through" also I would not put the next one in the chamber until you are done spotting your current shot. Other than that, keep the videos coming. I love what you are doing.
I have a six second flight time, it makes sense to reload before it shows up to make a quick correction to send before the conditions change even more. Perhaps follow through could have been better. Always something to improve. Thanks for watching
This video makes me sad due to the fact I cant find a place locally to shoot here in Southest Kentucky out to 300 yards.
What did your dope end up being?
25 shots ?
Can anyone help me find some 7SAUM ammo??
Yeah what do you only have 5k views?
so no video when it hit? anyone can do & say that how can you prove to the people watching you actually hit it? no offense but is true you probably did hit but again how we know by trusting you?
Haha, well it’s up to you man. Believe it or don’t.
