Great list. Fell in love with it when I drafted him for Commander Legends. A few cool things that I've added to my own list that up the power while remaining budget: - Felidar Guardian. Along with Restoration Angel, if either are under Abdel and you blink him, it goes infinite. Stack the trigger so on return, Abdel exiles them, then the flicker him. Be careful to not deck yourself with Candlekeep Sage! You can exile it with Abdel but you still get the enter trigger. I often use Venser or another payoff to win. Draw a bunch of cards, bounce Candlekeep Sage with Venser, then bounce everyone elses' permanents to win with your army of 1/1s next turn. - Peregrine Drake and Cloud of Faeries. Untap lands to keep up with your card draw! - Shipwreck Dowser and Repository Skaab. Exploit the 1/1s with Skaab to get back your flicker spells. Archaeomancer is so good in this list, why not have more? - Mystic Reflection. Why not turn all your 1/1s into the scariest nonlegendary on the board? I love seeing a Gary without a sac outlet with this card.
Recently built this kind of deck with Abdel + CS and played it for the first time this weekend, and boy was it a fun deck to play! Sure, not the exact pieces as these shown on video, but it worked wonders anyway. So simple to build around, and you get so much value from it! Love it 😄
Testing this commander out, and I think I actually like blink now. I'm building it more around soldier synergy, with blink as more of a means to an end. Strixhaven Stadium, Halo Fountain, and plenty of soldier anthems turn this deck into an absolute monster
Some cards I found working great Gilded lotus / Peregrine drake. These will net you mana with repeated blink effects. Knight Paladin as a budget "lose-life" wincon. Tribute mage to find all your 2-cmc mana rocks. Note that when blinked, the mana rocks can generate a ton of mana. Touch the spirit realm can act as blink card (instant speed), removal, and repeated blink.
My problem with blink decks is that they never really seem to know how they’re winning. Nice to see some focus on the tokens aspect over ‘combat damage with a mulldrifter’.
I have a brago deck that is basically a durdle fest it lacks a firm win path. This seems to be clear in how it wins i may switch the commander on the deck. Thank you for this fun deck.
After getting Invasion of Segovia from the MOM set, I thought about doing a convoke matters deck and I think this commander and background are perfect for that.
“Turn value into violence!” Best thing I’ve heard all week. xD This deck looks fun though, I definitely need to try it. My Ephara wizard tribal deck runs a lot of the cards found here already so it would be cool to have a way to have a variant of the deck i could play. That being said, a card that might be interesting in here is Call for Unity; an enchantment from Aether Revolt that can make your creatures pretty big over time, similar to Cathar’s Crusade.
rebuild it with prestion the vanisher, Asteral Dragon, Nephalia Smugler ( for the ability to blink ) blue leyline for abdel to basicly play him with flash, shackashima for obvius reasions of legendarys if any moment arises white dominus and Anointed procession to 4x times up on tokens made by blinking gained from prestion
Always happy to see more budget content! Looks like Skullclamp really broke the $50 budget according to Moxfield - this is still a better price point than a lot of other options
I went mono white with abdel adrian and far traveler as the background, also added around 7 vehicles to be able to tap him to crew them to get the enchant live. It still has infinites in mono white outside blue or black, but probably slightly less efficient. Still very easy to make infinite mana, 1/1 s, and etbs in a mono white deck thats $50-$100 max
I took a different but similar approach. I use cards similar to fiend hunter to exile until fiend hunter leaves. This commander + 2 of those creatures creates an infinite loop, which in this case will draw a ton of cards and make infinite 1/1s. Once I exhausted all the creatures like fiend hunter I started using clones to double up the effectiveness of the strategy.
Abdel isn't limited to using creatures. With proper sequencing you could add enchantments that temporarily exile as well. Like oblivion ring or (even better) journey to nowhere.
If you had to choose between panharmonicon or conjurers closet for the deck which would you choose? Im leaning towards closet as its a flicker every turn but also the far traveler already does that, so panharmonicon for double triggers seems really good.
Panharmonicon, for sure. There's more than enough stuff in the deck to make blinks happen, closet or not. Extending your value twice as far is a big bonus!
Isn't Oji a little better in the command zone? She has the plus side to be a good target her self to blink, is cheap to cast (and buy) and provides protection for your bord. Great videos 👍.
Oji is a they, not a she, if you care at all. Abdel is probably the best blink commander at the moment specifically because it blinks your whole board. Particularly rocks. You can exile rocks with Abdel, Flicker him, tap your rocks that enter the battlefield, then re exile them for Tokens.

Hm I'm working on a Tivit flicker/blink deck. But this makes me reconsider my choice :3
I love Tivit too, but that one really wants to be more than $50 - this could be $20, $50, or $100 and swing with the big boys!!
I use Far traveler as my background your restricted to mono white but you can more reliably flicker your comander and make a token army easy
