I'm not surprised with those numbers. My 2020 R/T now has 10,000 miles on it and I'm averaging 0-60 in 4.8 sec. One trick I did learn is to let the tranny warm up to at least 120 F and you'll get under 5.0 every time with no problem. The best I ever got was 4.5 sec with just me in the car. A true muscle car for sure.
@10:15 Sport doesn't turn traction control off. Holding the traction control button for a few seconds turns it off. Traction control in Sport only reduces the amount of interference it provides.
Nice ride, I have the 2018 RT no super track pack but it has the active exhaust. My first mod was remove the engine cover..that things is horrid. Replaced the lower airbox with the Hellcat airbox and KN filter. When it was time to replace the tires I got 20x9.5 hellcat replica's rims and went with the 275 40s and what a world of difference seat of the pants acceleration will spin was greatly reduced.

Next is BBK 1.75" tuned shorties, a 392 cam and dyno tune. Currently 91 octane Diablo tune. Also locked the exhaust valves open (with the kit) and swapped out the mid mufflers with Cherry Bombs. Charger RT is one of the best cars you can buy for the money. I have a 2020 Ram 1500 same color and the engine is surprising powerful in a 4WD truck. I just wish Jeep would have a hemi engine option for entry model Jeep Grand Cherokees.

I hit 4.9 in my 2016 R/T Road and Track and that had the 3.07 open diff. I couldnt move without roasting the tires. seems like the 2.62 allows for a little better launch due to limited wheel spin. I have a 19 challenger rt shaker (6M) and i need to get into a charger.... I was thinking scat pack but the 4.9 and 13.4 got me thinking if I need the scat for daily driver.... yea but real race the 6.1 is significantly faster than new rts i used to own a 2007 300c srt8 and i just beat new rts like for 3 cars. even with the new 8 speed transmission lol
I have had that exact car and trim level for a rental car a couple times. One was for several days and a 3 hour drive from the airport to the hotel and then around town. The other was for a 5 hour trip in one day. My personal at the time was a tuned Taurus SHO, so it felt slower for sure, but I did enjoy the car. It hit 60 in about 4.4 in the SHO and 1/4 in 12.7 @ 109 (AWD launch was a beast!) Loved the rumble of the R/T and was surprised it was stock exhaust. Plus I had that gray color and absolutely loved the look! I took it out one night and think I got a 13.6 1/4 mile and one 4.9 to 60 on a shorter run. Several slower ones as the launch is tricky. I also saw a top speed of 124 and took that as a challenge. Ended up setting a new one at 138. I liked all the performance pages and the transmission is spot on for a torque converter automatic. You feel the weight of the car and it leaves you wanting for a bit more power at times, but overall it was a very fun car. I am now in a CTS V-Sport which is a 3.6 TT, 420 hp/430 lb-ft and a proper handling car that is superior to both in all aspects, but I got a new level of respect after having the R/T for a bit!
Had a 2011 charger mopar edition but it only had the old 5 speed. Luckily they had a 3.91 rear end for the mopar edition and it felt much peppier than the regular rts in those years.
Great video. Upsets me i have a 18 RT with longtubes and catless mids. HP tune Michelin pilot sport and the best i got was 4.8. Granted i got no traction but still

Really good Nick. The only complaint I have with my R/T is an open rear 2.62. Tough to get traction w/ 1 wheel. When you got the car remember I told you that the more you drive it the more you like it. Glad to see it. Hold off rubbing your hand thru your beard. You may be rubbing the color out LOL. These FCA cars are a hell of a lot better than they get credit for. Be safe.
I agree the open diff is a bummer. There should be an option for the 3.09 LSD like the challengers. I have a 2016 Rt Road and Track back in the day and I had the 3.07 open diff adn the best I got was 4.8 but that was once and I hit 4.9 about 5-10 times. My problem was launching. i had to hit 2nd gear before 30 so its instant burnout with any amount of throttle.
I have the same make and model except I got the R/T Plus and the color is blue. I have done some mods that I feel would outperform YOUR car! I have replaced the air filter with a K and N High Flow air filter from AutoZone, removed the middle mufflers for a richer sound, bought a chip for the car and went back to AutoZone for a bottle of octane booster. I use Kroger premium 93 no ethanol fuel so once I get the tank down below 1/4 I will toss in that bottle of Lucas Octane Booster to see what that does along with the chip that I got plugged into the car. I would love to get the car after added the octane booster on a dino to see if I am over 400 HP but I not know of a dino in the Louisville area. I decided against the cold air intake as once the hood is closed the air inside the engine compartment is warm as the engine is giving off heat. Thus K and N High Flow air filter is good. The reality is that adding HP to these cars is a little here and a little there UNLESS you get a supercharger which is.....(forget that idea as it is NOT cost effective). So you live in New Jersey and those high taxes???? Come on down South into Kentucky or more southern and YOU will enjoy life better for sure. I used to live in Philadelphia and NOW my wife will not let me drive my Dodge Charger R/T Plus into Phila. as she said I will get car jacked. Weather is cooler now and so if I can get on the Interstate 64 I can test out what the car can do but as I have already driven it to Pigeon Forge Tennessee once I have a idea that it would easily cruise at over 100 mph but the State Police in both states would be all over me for sure. Had the car detailed yesterday and it looks very nice. About the tires, I still have the stock tires but could replace just the rear if I was really wanting to go to Kentucky Speed Way towards Cincinnati on I 71. I feel sorry for YOU living in New Jersey!
It looks like the dealer never set your tire pressure to the correct 32 PSI, when you cycled thru it was in the 47-49 way too high! When they ship them they pump them up but dealer should reset them. You can run 34-35 if you want but 32 will give you that nice grip and nice ride.
That’s good 0-60 times. Best I ever got on my 09 charger r/t was 5.1. The 18 inch skinny tires on that just spun. Lol 😂. I did get 155 mph top speed though. 👍
What fuel are you using. I run 93 I have a 2018 ta 5.7 I cant get my 0-60 under 5.5. I use sport mode and never took traction controller off doing my 0-60s

You can manually shift at any speed or R.P.M. The computer protects the engine from overspeed with a fuel by-pass valve. Just take it to the limit with no problems. Let the computer do the work.
Those tires pressures seem really high, 46psi. Probably didn't help with hooking up. I usually have my tires around 32psi cold and obviously a little higher then they warm up, but not 46psi hot. But great times non the less! Love the video
Found a great deal on a 2020 scat pack 9k miles, it was a lease. Might end up buying it but before hand just trying to figure out if the extra 100 horse power and torque is worth it for the extra couple grand. Been researching a lot and I gotta say the scat pack does deff sound more fierce but also does only take premium while these I heard can take regular no problem, say this just because it’d prolly end up being my daily driver. So in other worths for a daily driver scat pack or rt? Kinda like seeing 180 on the dash as well wish the Rt had that I’d prolly get it in a instant

With the light bar and push bumper still installed, “I heard a rumor” that it will run 161 before the speed limiter kicks in. It gets 26MPG highway if you can keep your foot out of it. I think the 8 speed would make them a little quicker too.
I have a 2019 RT. I touched 152 with me and my wife in it. Honestly guys it felt like it had a little more in it. I do have a pedal box and hellcat air box with filter
@@IncredibleHemi1111 I did many tests on gas and 89 octane shell gave me my biggest runs. I can hit 4.6 0-60 stock on shell 89 gas. I launch from 1200 rpms holding the brake. And I live in NJ so I'm at sea level and that's allways good
I'm in an argument with some douchecanoe who shits on the 5.7 because he insists it's a "truck" engine. Far as I know they're different intake manifolds, cam, and maybe heads.

You have to get 17 inch rims with slick and you will be at 4.1 all day. Shit I got 4.6 bone stock with 245’s with those mods you will be flying

I got my road and track 16 rt up 137 once
They say they can get up to 155 in the 5.7 n at 130 it was still climbing

With the light bar and push bumper still installed, “I heard a rumor” that it will run 161 before the speed limiter kicks in. It gets 26MPG highway if you can keep your foot out of it. I think the 8 speed would make them a little quicker too.

@@IncredibleHemi1111 I did many tests on gas and 89 octane shell gave me my biggest runs. I can hit 4.6 0-60 stock on shell 89 gas. I launch from 1200 rpms holding the brake. And I live in NJ so I'm at sea level and that's allways good
