  • Blown Head Gasket? Cracked Cylinder Head? Cracked Engine Block? I think the engine hydrolocked and wouldn't start before

    Who dumped a jar of Cneez-Wiz in that radiator?

  • @mentaldemise

    I watched the other video on the block test as well as one from WatchWesWork. I think both instances were where there wasn't combustion so no combustion produced gasses in the coolant. Failed injector + head gasket leak = no reaction.

    Lovey work my friend. Those liquid combustion testers are the best and everyone should use them on a used car that they may wish to buy. Nice work Sir and sorry for the owners of this truck. Bobby

    Always replace those caps. I've seen too many 4.7L's blow hose after hose and radiator after radiator due to caps that don't release pressure at the 16 psi the cap specifies. I've seen the radiator hoses on these blown up like balloons due to bad caps.

    Learned the hard way about the 4.7 v8 in the 2003 Dodge Ram 1500. Mine blew at 82k miles. Stay far away from the 4.7 v8

    Hello Kenny the 4.7 was junk from the get go!! Mercedes engine. Used Chrysler as test car's for their junk. We hated working on them at Dealership.

    I have a 2013 ram 4.7 in the shop right now it has 94k it ran hot but very weirdly. We changed water pump, thermostat, heat temp sensor and it’s still running hot but only if you drive it. It will idol. Fine. Only two things left are radiator or blown head. Any advice

    Scotty says stay away from 4.7 .
    I got dodge ram 2500 magnum hemi 5.7
    337.000 miles on it and still running so smooth and quiet. Little bit knockin but stills running with proper maintenance.

      Be careful with that knocking. I have a 2006 5.7L V8 with a blown head gasket among other things, and right before it broke down it started knocking more and more. Once that knock gets louder, take it in to the shop. Mine died at 165,000 miles.

    • @JeffinTD

      Harbor Freight. The kit is like $28, plus you need a bottle of fluid around $10

    • @JeffinTD
      @JeffinTD ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I’ve heard you can pump air through it, but $10 gets you a bottle of 16 tests worth…. So I can’t see it worth the time.

  • @dalekundtz760

    Looked at first maybe a mix of Dexkool and the old green antifreeze? I heard that can cause a pudding type result. Asking more then making a diagnosis. Can you mix the two?

    • @JeffinTD
      @JeffinTD ปีที่แล้ว

      I think the pickup would have come with HOAT type coolant (apparently Zerex G-05 dyed orange for Chrysler). As I understand it shouldn’t be mixed with traditional glycol coolant, but I don’t know what happens.
