Piper Pickles it’s not that she wants to , it’s that the writers want to and so for example on grey’s she’s using her american accent ( same with when she’s on set since she said she can’t switch between accents without getting confused ) also she went to an american school in the uk so that probably explains why her accent changed 🤷🏻‍♀️

Over time accidents do fade. My step mom is from Scotland and she has lived here in America for 20 years. While her accent is still very strong, it has faded over time. Also, some regions of countries don’t always have a super “strong” accent.
