I struggled to find the correct pronunciation for most of the destinations in this video so I ended up working with a Malagasy voiceover artist. I found this really interesting as many of the vowels are silent or pronounced differently. If you’re interested in hearing a native speaker pronounce these names, I’ve made a short video, which you can watch here (I don’t think I have commercial rights to this content so it’s unlisted) th-cam.com/video/c4XZugQIYug/w-d-xo.html
Wow! Madagascar is truly one of the most ecologically-diverse locations on the planet! I LOVE your content! I'm an aspiring writer and must say I admire your writing style, transitioning, and analysis! Amazing work and I look forward to future content!
I rrally enjoy the extraordinarily beautiful imagery of your content. Likewise, it's fact -packed & narrated in a modest way with little of 'trademark' intros, themesong, etcetera. So much content on YT is geared toward self-gratifying attention & politically motivated attitudes, you're a much appreciated breath of fresh air.
I really like these kinds of videos! You should absolutely continue with other places/countries. For the footage, are they recorded by yourself or do you find images/videos online or both? Keep up the great work!
Madagascar is in fact part of Africa, it is not just Africa's largest island, it is also one of its major countries since Africa has to most countries of any non-polar continent in the world.
Thank you for another well paced and informative video that succinctly covers the main areas to visit to experience the amazing biodiversity of this place.
Hey @Textbooktravel can you please do one of these Wildlife Enthusiasts Guide to India, it would be very interesting to see one of those and by the way I really like your wildlife guides to these countries! 🌴
Fun fact: You wouldn’t know it from looking at a Mercator projection map, but Madagascar is roughly the size of France, and about 2.4 times the size of the United Kingdom.
4:20 Where I grew up in Saudi Arabia in the 60s & 70s, the lionfish was seen everytime you jumped into the sea, & called by everyone, a chicken-fish. I still think it's a visually much more appropriate name & never heard of a lionfish till I moved stateside, where they aren't native (but are now an invasive species edging out native fish). Always have wondered why anyone would be inspired to name a fish with 'feathers' sticking out of it "Lion". Never heard the term Devil Fire Fish, but it beats the other two names!
Its terrible how poor farming methods have destroyed much of Madagascar with the result of topsoil being washed away. Madagascar is one area where birth control needs to become popular before its destroyed by too many people.

No Malagasy Hognose? 😢
In the thumbnail, can you have the lemur say the malagasy word for hello, because french is not exclusively spoken in Madagascar.
With the thumbnails, I have to think about click through rate, unfortunately. Most people recognise and understand "Bonjour". Thanks for commenting
French is fine.
awesome video! one question though, isn’t “sifaka” pronounced as “shi-fak”?
Man you sound exactly like the tierzoo guy
What sites do you get your videos from ?
