The 2020 Tata Steel Masters is a 14-player single round-robin taking place from 11-26 January. World Champion Magnus Carlsen again heads the field, which includes Top 10 stars Caruana, Giri and So as well as 5-time World Champion Anand. A lot of the focus will be on young stars - Duda, Artemiev, Xiong and above all 16-year-old Alireza Firouzja, who makes his super-tournament debut. As well as the traditional venue in Wijk aan Zee, the Netherlands, one round will be played in the PSV football stadium in Eindhoven (16 January).
The time control is 100 minutes for 40 moves followed by 50 minutes for 20 moves, then 15 minutes for the rest of the game, with a 30-second increment per move from move 1. If there is a tie for first place the top two after tiebreaks then play a 2-game blitz (5+3) playoff and, if still tied, an Armageddon game. The monetary prizes will be shared evenly. Ding, Caruana and Nepo, for me... Caruana seems to have kicked into another gear lately though, so I will probably root for him.
@@nickwolf1234 in the end it's the classical championship. Imo it's weak to win the title in blitz, so not problem Fabiano losing in blitz (Magnus beat Anand fair and square).
GM Ding has also chances, but yes, GM Caruana is favorite in the Candidates Tournament.

HI Excellent Finders of middle Game moves: At 6;43, why not capture the black knight on c5 with the dark square bishop? Does this not get you a piece for pawn on b2? If black rook captures pawn on b2, white queen can move to c1?
8:23 why not Bitshop capture c6? after black Bishop captures back, Queen can capture and white has a really nice position, or do I overlook something?

After Rb3 why not take the bishop on a6 anf if the knight takes the Rook on a6 the Rook on b3 is not defended anymore. Or do i miss something?

At 6:36 after Be3 by white, black plays queen to b7. Already, there is a double attack on knight on c5. So why didn't white took the Knight on c5. Can any please explain this?
nice tactics from Mr Duda in the last third of the video, and Fabi played extremely well a whole tournament ... this goes to show what it takes at the moment to beat Magnus in a tournament

Caruna is an attacking genius. Sacrifices a pawn alpha zero style and creates an overwhelming position.
Wow so many offensive moves coming from both players pieces it was kind of hard to keep up with Fabi came out ahead so his game plan worked more effectively than Duda’s both great players watching this game proves opportunities are more plentiful with more pieces on the board many of my opponents want to trade everything I’ve noticed that doesn’t work out well for myself I’d rather have offensive capabilities to try to make something happen thanks for the Game Agadmator Enjoyed

If rook B3, why not play rock takes A6 and win the Bishop? If the knight on C5 recaptures your rook, then the rook on B3 is left undefended? I am a novice, am I missing a subtle tactic why this would not work?
Why not push pawn from e6 to e5 instead of the instant concede bishop sacrifice on h8? protects the rook, the pawn on f7, threatens bishop on e5 if recapture and if not king is centered and gets a couple checks and seems in an ok position?

At 4.44 isn't Rb3 a blunder giving up a piece because of Rxa6 Nxa6 and Qxb3? And if knight doesn't capture the rook can just come back and white is up a bishop in both cases.

I saw the first move, but not the followup defence and the counter to the followup.
he uses the Engine first to analyse the game so he knows all the possibilities after every move.
