On that problematic carpet at 5:42, a friend who's done this advised me to first remove the left rear taillight cover and then pull out the triangular piece starting at the point closet to the rear of the car. Then the bulkhead carpet removes easily. Very easy to do. As far as I can tell, at 5:05, you do need to remove the Torx screws as they screw into the plastic trim piece. I must say, my engine is just about ready to come out and I really appreciate your video. Can't tell you how many times I reviewed parts of it when I got stuck. T-Y.
Hi Aron not sure if I got your name righti have a 987 Cayman 2.7 2008 I'm changing up the exhaust to a cat delete system how do I manage the ECM from settings cat codes regards Dale
I’m so glad I watched this video. It’s been very helpful. Also, I noticed you called the axle a drive shaft it’s not a driveshaft. It’s an axle. I wish you would’ve at least recorded the rest of the video showing the rest of the engine being removed out of the car. It would’ve been helpful. That’s the most interesting and important part!
+@Eurospec73 as far as showing the car being raised at the end, which I can only assume is the missing part you are referring to, I mentioned I filmed that for my Boxster engine removal video. Same thing, so go watch that one 😉🍻
Appreciate the video, heading to the garage to pull mine now
+Josh Heineman good luck sir! This video will definitely help. Report back ;)

+@FXshovel it’s Aaron. I’d ask the exhaust manufacturer for their recommendation
I don't have a lift. How high will I need to lift the body to clear the engine?
+Kurt Raynorcellphone I really meant to measure! My bad.
When you reinstall the engine could you check the clearance needed?
Where can I find the engine removal manual?
+@garethryanbenjamin8459 got it from emanuels online but people have told me they have been ripped off so I stopped mentioning them
FYI, the link to the Porsche Manuals is broken, tried to get one for a 2006 boxster.
+Timothy Troke thanks I’ll take a look!

Any truth in the rumour the shop dog has brandy attached to its collar and is on constant standby 😁
Looking forward to this Aaron 👏
+Iain Mcglynn vicious lies I tell you!! 😆 thanks 🍻
Your video is 26:54 including intro’s and outro’s so it’s safe to assume a cayman 987 engine can be removed in 30 minutes. Good to know! 😂
+Jeremy Pringle absolutely! 😂
Wow
+Josema Desastre Constante indeed 🍻
Yeeees
+Iain Mcglynn 💪🍻
