I've been waiting for your analysis of _Dawn of the Planet of the Apes_ , which may be my favorite movie. I'm hoping more people will watch the entire trilogy. It's _so much better_ than most of the mindless crap being cranked out for the big screen.
Not gonna lie this is the first time I’ve ever seen that people didn’t like Origins. I thought it was absolutely outstanding. Is that why they didn’t put it on the Arkham games collection? I was real disappointed to see it isn’t on there
@@IHamilton9320 There was an air of disappointment upon the game's release. Most criticisms came from how little they changed/improved after Arkham City. Personally, I've always enjoyed it, The reason it's not in the Return to Arkham collection is most likely because it was already on xbox one/ps4, or that it was developed by a different studio.
My only real criticism was the open world had far less thought put into it like city did. City had so much personality everywhere you went. Story and gameplay wise origins was great. Probably my favorite iteration of bane. I honestly prefer it over Arkham knight.
This is a really good video but dude, you gotta either make yourself louder or the static effects quieter. I keep having to turn up the volume because I can’t hear you and then I get hit with these constant loud static noises.
I really enjoy your essays and I'm super looking forward to your next planet of the apes analysis so I hope you don't take this the wrong way because I genuinely liked this video but the editing was really annoying. I get what you were going for but the constant "TV Channel Lost signal" effect showing up every five damn seconds was irritating, you were saying some really interesting stuff and having your voice be interrupted every two seconds with a loud and frankly atrocious sound and/or old ads that played for a tad too long, really dragged this awesome essay down. Still huge fan !
Goddamn you’re good, initially joined when you came out with your community video, but you just keep improving. Don’t stop, there’s a lot of talent there
I just want to let you know, just for the context; I listened to your essays every night recently when I'm about to sleep. Hearing that constant static noises so often just wakes me up every single time, and I can't even focus on your voice anymore because of that. So enough of those static noises dude, it's louder than the rest of the audio, and it's too fucking many.
Man I found you a few weeks ago and your videos never fail to amaze me. You writing is often as good, if not better than the media you talk about. Spider verse never made me cry but your video about it did and it made me see the message behind in a way you don't do when watching it with your family
This video is almost perfect. But that sound effekt of switing kills me it is ok 1 or 2.but use it over 20 times made me hate this video. I cant watch it again because i know it its there. Please please please don't ever use that broken chanal sound effekt or in General horrible transitions.
Arkham Origins was a great game. The performances of Roger Craig Smith and Troy Baker was amazing as the younger Batman and Joker. Bruce’s journey from being Batman alone to becoming THE Batman is done well in my opinion. Origins deserves more credit than it deserves and we need a remastered version of this game on current gen consoles
I've been a big fan of your channel for awhile now and follow it on my other accounts as well and this, this video right here may just be your magnum opus. It is magnificent. Thank you.
Wow i mean.. wow. Never thought anyone could change my point of view about Origins... but you did it. Awesome Video. Awesome series. Mindblowing. Cant find any words. Keep going and as a wise man once said: "[...] We will watch your career with great interest."
11:28, 11:38, what a concise way to explain the Joker. Troy Baker’s version stuck out to me as Batman inadvertently creates him just as in the Killing Joke and Batman 1989, which is seemingly why he hired the assassins to kill him. On top of that, before properly meeting Batman, he is far more aimless and self destructive (as a matter of fact, Arkham’s Joker repeatedly brings about his own downfall in the other games (first shooting himself with Titan after saying he’d nothing to live for and then accidentally breaking the vial containing a cure for himself, even when he wanted to live so he could continue playing with Batman). It’s Batman that gave him a reason to live after saving him. It’s Batman that gave him purpose in a world without meaning. In an effort to beat the city’s crime into submission, Batman unleashed one of the biggest monster’s of them all. And as of this specific game’s continuity, he has absolutely no idea of this fact (permitted this isn’t just Joker misremembering his past or making it up in his head).
Of course, if you take a look at the long form story of the Arkhamverse, you can see that there was a little bit of all these paths that were needed to ensure a better future for Gotham. In the beginning, despite the foul measures, Joker and Riddler started tearing down pieces of the corrupt system, giving space for new, better blood to start stepping in. Batman's crusade needed help in order to ensure its better success, so he created the bat family with the host of sidekicks and the greater, more authentic police department. But above all, in order to ensure the forces of Hugo Strange and Scarecrow didn't destroy everything they held dear, they had to maintain what was good in Gotham by holding down the destroyers. And extend that: at the end of arkham knight, batman destroyed the batman to ensure its immortality past Bruce Wayne, seeking to create a new myth to accompany what mayor Gordon could give alongside Robin and Oracle to maintain the new safety brought about by destroying the organized Criminal element the long halloween created. So yes, this view of creation is what eventually became Batman's creed to ensure a better Gotham. But to cement its future, he needed all the other things too.
A beautiful video and message. Sums up what has happened and what I felt needs to be done in reaction to this year. Thanks. Loved your videos ever since I was introduced to you by the community video. You rock the world and I’m glad you continue to do so. Happy holidays.
Man, I can't wait to see your future videos, these keep getting better and better. Your analasys of The Last of Us was my favourite of yours and I can't wait to see what you have to say for Part II
Holy shit this is so good. Like this is better than any movie, show, or story I saw or read last year. The passion, logical breakdown and analysis are simply breathtaking... You my friend, have a gift.
wow the static interruption thing is a bit heavy handed, but the narration is so strong the video works anyway really looking forward to your next video !
Those static sounds were painful, and adds needless filler, i just skipped them, but they, at least in my opinion shouldn't be there in the first place, just slowing the whole video down, a video that by itself is pretty well made and nice to watch.
Bro i love ur vids. Especially the avatar one bc i love that show so much but couldnt figure out why. You showed why the show is so damn good and made me able to put it into words. Please talk ab the walking dead telltale game. The story is soo good. Keep being great💯💯💯
I got the nihilistic approach and loved it. I think the static injection and very random ad placement could have been a bit more nuisanced and subtle. I know this is over a year old so your next Christmas special will be off the charts.
Just saw this video, the Planet of the Apes one and the Last of us one and now I’m subscribed. Now I need to watch all of your videos dude. Nice work. Also I saw that Twilight Princess was your favorite video game of all time. I’d love to see why it is your favorite and your favorite things about the game.
I saw this as Bruce experiencing a new form of criminality. He had only been fighting thugs and mob-bosses whose goals are after money and power. Violent means to simple ends. In comes the Joker, a criminal who is not motivated by money but by the sheer fun of it and he has no idea how to react to it.
The answer of the question is in the holiday itself. As the name applies it is about Christ. We cannot save humanity but he can. God came as an infant lived a perfect life and died so that we could live freely apart from our misdeed mistakes and the pain that we so deserve for what we do to each other ourselves and God. The point of Christmas is not nor has it ever been about commercialism food and expensive gifts or even family. It has, is, and always will be about God’s sacrificial love for us wretched sinners who make our miserable. If you can’t accept that love for what ever reason you have the freedom to do so but I’d have to ask, why would you?
So as you can probably tell from other comments, you went way too hard on the static overall. But the montage at the end of part 3 really worked for me (possibly aided by having never played this game and thus Alfred's death was a surprise).
i have never in my life understood the character of the joker and his worldview than after watching this video, and I have never so clearly understood why he's wrong until I watched this
Damn I got recommended this tonight but damn bro thanks for saying this shit real shit dude. Been going through a rut but damn I’ma try and do better. Thank you
The Joker section of this analysis video is extremely powerful. In the real world that we live in today, people like the joker, where the world fails them, it brings them down a notch and into the ground. And so they find malicious intent as a gateway of an already decrepitated and corrupt world. Its a sad thought but it is reality.

Amen
I hate the static noise
It’s so loud and annoying!
The static noise is painful.
Most annoying part of the video
I think its a reference to Captain Midnight
the white noise sound and a cutaway to non-content gets old fast. other than that, good video
At certain points…
This video’s static = Battlefield Earth’s Dutch angle shots
It was so annoying

The Static Things are really overused, the video is great but lessen the static sounds plz
