Seems I jumped the gun when hoping for movie quickies, since they're just being incorporated into the review itself! The manner in which the script is being arranged is great, and I think I'm really gonna like the "how queer was this season" sections, specially with some of the more spicy pairings in later seasons.
I also liked honing in on the mistakes the second season made, already compounding on the first season, since you'd think they'd do better, not the same or even worse (like the convenient passing out). The baddies being considerate of the Precures is interesting, actually, not because of this season in particular, but how some later badies lampshade this in a way I actually quite like.
While some of the animation felt better this time around, the sheer amount of powers being thrown around really did eat up the time, as you noted. Thankfully, we did get some really good episodes nonetheless, and the second movie's fight scenes were great.
The breakdown of the transformation was also really great, it truly was an upgrade from last season, and I think something people tend to overlook (since they get recicled and people get tired of them), but I really do enjoy when the transformations really sell the character, for lack of a better word, of the character.
Overall, I'm really liking kinda revisiting the series through the reviews. Hope they keep coming!

I slightly disagree with you regading the villains.
I do agree they could have had more depth but I did enjoy their interactions,
of course if villain interactions are fun or not varies from person to person but that's my opinion
